9 months on Lupron in 2001 for severe endometriosis adhesions.. Total hell, it took all my energy just to work my demanding marketing job, unbelievable fatigue and felt like my emotions were raw nerves set off by the slightest thing.l felt like a crazy person and cannot believe my fiancé married me anyway. After 9 months of treatment even my top repro endocrinogist who put me on it couldn't believe it had NO impact on the adhesions..so went thru this for nothing. Symptoms of Lupron improved after stopping but not completely...it has been a long road and often wonder if the ulcerativee colitis, joint pain, vit d deficiencyn and intermittent intolerance of aerobic exercise even when in shape has some basis in the after affects of Lupron still,in tissues somewhere!Jul 14th, 2012Someone from Los Gatos, CA signed.

if I had known the long term side effects of this medication I would have taken the agony of my endometriosis over it. I was robbed of a decent quality of life when I was 21 years old. I'm not 23 and still suffering severely.REPORT COMMENTS

I had the one month shot to help shrink fibroids before surgery. I started feeling intense back pains whenever I laid down. The doctor called me back to get the 3 month shot yesterday. I asked about the back pains. I was told that they weren't a side effect of the drug. So I trusted my doctor and got the 3 month shot. After researching the drug on my own, I now realize the two are connected. All I can do now is cry and wait for the worse!REPORT COMMENTS

I've been off the 6-month treatment of Lupron for Endometriosis for about 2 months now. The shots had pros and cons. The main pro was that they actually cured my mood swings and unexplainable fits of tears and depression. The cons were that my sex drive vanished completely for 6 or 7 months, my hair on my head began falling out while hair on my face began growing, my skin is dry, my hair is brittle, it was difficult to go to sleep but that caused me to feel tired and fatigued all the time. I'm an office manager and these shots made me quite forgetful about certain things at work that I should have remembered...sometimes even mundane things like forwarding phones and shutting off lights. I've been off of it for two months now, and am finally getting a sex drive back...much to mine and my fiancé's satisfaction and relief, ha. I had some of the craziest dreams on this medicine, particularly during the beginning months of taking the shots. I've yet to menstruate after two months off of Lupron. What I have noticed is a bit more vibrant energy than while on the shots, and that if I eat a recommended endometriosis diet, I feel fine, or at least much better than if I were to dine at fast food restaurants or eat hormone-fed chicken. Take care!REPORT COMMENTS

This drug has to be stopped. I am 34 yr old, and I can attest to the pain that comes from having taken these shots. I am not able to work, I have no way to get treated and because Doctors don't take it seriously they believe I am making it up. I have no recourse to back me up that this drug has done damage to my body. This drug should be removed.REPORT COMMENTS

I had a laparoscopy, at which time adhesions/endometriosis were removed from most of my abdominal organs. Recovery was incredibly painful and one week later I was scheduled for a total hysterectomy, which my doctor felt was successful and that no endometritis remained. All along he had been recommending Lupron, and continued to insist I start on it despite that I don't have endometriosis. Thanks to this site I will not only NOT start taking Lupron, but will be finding another doctor willing to talk about options. Thanks everyone, I too feel this drug should be taken off the market.REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered numerous permanent side effects from lupron, to the point that it's completely altered my life for the negative and been debilitating and disabling. Doctors don't take me serioulsy when I tell them my symptoms started when I took Lupron. Someone needs to once and for all take a serious look into this drug and file a national class action lawsuit on behalf of all of us who have been victims of Lupron.REPORT COMMENTS

I was taking Lupron becasue I was going to be an egg donor, but the reciepient decided not to go along with the process, therefore I was told to stop the injections of lupron. Since then, I have been having body aches, multiple joint pain, hip pain and a creepy crawly painful weird sensation in my arm and hand at night. I had taken 14 injections of lupron after 14 days, and I began having those symptoms about 2wks later, but they were mild, as the weeks went by, they progressed and became worse. I was always active, running, working out on a regular, taking zumba classes, danceing, and kickboxing/boxing and now I can barley do anything becase of the pain and that I think I might hurt myself. I have also missed 3 periods.REPORT COMMENTS

I took Lupron in May for an IVF cycle which turned out to be a an IUI cycle. I feel very nervous and irritable and did not feel this way before I took the medication. My fertility doctor prescribed it for me right away without letting me know of the side effects and after effects. They should take this drug off of the market.REPORT COMMENTS

I was offered this drug today as a treatment for endometriosis, and I specifically asked the doctor about potential side effects of the drug, he told me hot flashes and night sweats, although he did tell me that he had never given it to someone with all of my medical issues. I have a rare autoimmune disease (causing severe chronic joint/muscle pain), migraines, seizure disorder, kidney stones, interstitial cystitis, etc. and am currently on chemotherapy. When I got home from my appointment, I looked up Lupron online and found that the there are a LOT of terrible side effects and decided that there is no way I will ever take this medicine. I am so sorry for all the people that are dealing with the side effects of this drug, and to my surprise many of the side effects are things that I am already dealing with, so I can not even imagine things being worse. I am only 27 and am about to start professional school, and I believe that had I decided to take this drug today, I would no longer be able to have the career that I have dreamed of due to the memory loss, depression, etc. I am thankful that I found this website and I sincerely hope that many of you will eventually get some relief from your symptoms. It blows my mind that this drug is still being offered to people, when it clearly is ruining lives.REPORT COMMENTS
