I was given the Lupron to treat severe debilitating menstrual periods. I have a history of degenerative disc disease in my lower back (l-5) it is not frequent that I have flare ups and pain with this- when I do it is nothing more then an annoyance- no severe pain. I am active I love to run and work out and consider myself in great physical shape. Until Lupron! Two weeks after my first injection, over the course of one day my minor back pain developed into severely intense pain which left me in tears- muscle spasms all up and down my back that you could feel to the touch. My primary care doctor was baffled and I had no idea it could be due to Lupron until I heard someone else's story! My gyn doc said this is not due to Lupron but I don't buy it! This has never happened to me before never pain this bad! Something is different this time and the only thing I can say is different is the first dose of Lupron I got 2 weeks ago! Please someone tell me that it will go away! I will not be getting any further injections! I would rather live with painful periods then ever experience this debilitating pain again!!

I was given the shot 21 days ago.all the stuff I eventually read never really told me much.i was given shot 1 day before period was to start.of coarse I experienced all the normal pain from endo as I do every month only there was a lot of new and different pains too. Horrible.5 days after I had vision disturbance the 45 seconds after nausea then severe headache. The headache has never stopped since then. Constant bloating.my lower back is constantly hurting pretty bad. Spotting still. These are the things left after 3 weeks of this misery.basically in doc office I was just told ..for 2 weeks symptoms would be worse them u will be better.ha. also another thing while they mention everywhere..pain at injection site as side effects. .except for when they put it in it felt just fine until the 9th day then I felt the huge knot and a lot of pain at the site...for about a week. I know everyone is different ot was just strange to me 9 days after and nowhere I read did it say when the pain happens. So I just want to let you know if you haven't had it right after do not think you are out of the woods. I will not have this injection again.

Have developed chronic joint and muscle pain and a battery of tests had ruled out most suspected causes. I suspect Lupron may be to blame, because when I received it (6 months for endometriosis), I was forewarned about early bone degeneration.

I could write a book with the numerous side effects I experienced from this shot. It has literally ruined my life, I've lost my business and suffer from severe pain daily. I've endured hundreds of thousands of dollars in test , surgery, meds, procedures and doctor visits. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, adrenal fatigue syndrome, I've gained 70 lbs, have many severe vitamin deficiencies, 30-40% bone loss, had depression, memory loss, anexiety, IBS, and I could go on and on and on. I was IN PERFECT health at 30 years old before this shot. Now I live my life unemployed, in bed 4-5 days a week and the other days I have force myself to move because the pain and exhaustion is so severe. I've forced myself to exercise to lose weight, I've tried so many diets and natural remedies to lose weight and continue to gain. Someone should pay for what they are doing to all of us. I had to close my business, and almost lost everything. My doctor never told me any side effects of this medication.

I am so discouraged as with most of these posts I took 6 months of Lupron injections for endometriosis and now I am going to have to file for disability. Can't work due to severe hip, muscle and joint pain. I am asleep most all day everyday and am still tired, hair loss, severe irrability and anger issues, weight gain, memory loss (my husband thinks I am going crazy).... I am miserable and can not take this anymore....just want all this constant pain to go away!!!!!!

I was 15 when diagnosed with Endometriosis. (1993) Took many test before Dr. Did surgery and found the cysts and removed them. Dr. Explained how my age was not common for such diagnosis and how I could have difficulty in pregnancy but if I was successful then that was like the ultimate cure. I underwent 6 months of Lupron. Now I am a mother of 3 and to this day I am with hot flashes, dizziness, multiple joint pain, was false diagnoss with Lupus. If I perform daily house chores or have to leave my home on a daily basis where I am walking most of the day, i am in full body pain. I experience major tention headache on a daily basis. My fingers are too weak to hold plates as i wash them. I have for the past 9 years developed this constant pain along my entire spine. I have many things to add but my hands are in too much pain now from typing this. Thanks.

I had endometriosis that became severe at age 22, right after I had my son, when it should be better. They tried several extensive trials of Lupron. My endometriosis responded in a much more aggressive manner and ate half of an ovary, as well as holes in my other female organs causing such damage that eventually I had an oomphorectomy. I always ate fairly healthy and lived an extremely active lifestyle. Never did I have a weight problem or need to diet. After my Lupron trials, I started gaining weight excessively and fast. I gained well over 100 pounds and went from my heaviest ever of 120lbs, size 4-6 at most, at 5'4" (I always was a runner and had a lot of muscle) to weighing 298 lbs, size 28. My diet did not change, my activity did not change, nothing major in my life changed, other than taking Lupron and gaining excessive weight gain over 100 lbs within approx 6 months or less. I did every diet, saw nutritionist, talk to doctors...even was hospitalized for 2 weeks with nothing but an IV and gained weight. Now doctors are not helpful and it hurts for the world to believe your a "closet eater" who did this to themselves and want a magic pill. This drug/treatment is harmful in so many ways and no one deals with the aftermath patients are left with once a Lupron treatment is done. Time has not healed my body...I was 22-23 when having my first treatment, I'm now 39 and still dealing with the Lupron aftermath that no doctor wants to admit or recognize. What am I supposed to do when I was told this is the only treatment option other than surgery?

My father has been on the Lupron shot for well over 5 years. After noticing memory problems, inappropriate compulsive behaviors and doctors ruling out Alzhemiers my family and I decided to get a second opinion. It was shared that the Lupron shot you should have never started and anyone who takes the shot should have discontinued within a two year time period. My family and I have lost our father possibly due to this horrific drug. We miss the spiritual conversations, advice and other words of encouragement given from my father who is a minister and now is unable to preach the Word of God. We need help

This injection changed my life..I've always said after my first injection I was in pain like I never felt but doctors never listened. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but I believe it all started with the lupron injection.

I was on and off Lupron for years from 1995-2002. Way more injections than what is the maximum. My life changed overnight. Same as most of you. Long term effects are terrible.

I am 47 now, and I am totally shut down. I was given the Lupron 6 month injections between 2011 and 2012 reduce the size of fibroids, but had to have a hysterectomy anyway. I have been tested for Lupus, now being tested for Dermatomyositis. I have an itchy, discoloring skin rash in my face an on my neck and arms. Loss of hair, loss of vision, all over body pain, chest pain, memory loss and confusion, can?t sleep, depressed, and weight gain, sun sensitive. I could go on. Sometime I pray to die. Please don?t let Lupron destroy anyone else.

I'm still digesting all of this. I haven't been the same since taking Lupron for 6 months in 2011. I have had depression, anxiety, and dizziness/vertigo since I took the Lupron shots. After going through the menopausal side effects and being on my deathbed - I still had to have surgery to remove my 5 month pregnancy sized fibroid from my uterus. I still have other fibroids remaining and will require a hysterectomy before the year is over. I have gained 60 lbs. since taking the Lupron shots. The suffering never ends.

I was treated with multiple doses over a period of almost two years. I gained 60lbs the first year and 20 the 2nd. it caused major depression and i am only just now starting to feel normal again. the worst part is that I still had to have a hysterectomy and that is when they determined I didn't even have endometriosis. I had Adenomyosis which isn't treatable. My hair was falling out and i have constant hip joint pain. my last dose was in june 2011.

I was 20 for my 1st one month injection of Lupron. I have experienced severe dizziness & nausea. I went from being an active college student to being bed ridden daily. I am due for another shot but will have to decline due to severe side effects. I have experienced hypotension, nausea, dizziness, tingling in limbs, anxiety, & joint pain daily! Don't harm your body with this drug, do your research!

Where do I start.. When I was given luprone as the only option (no mention of diet change or progesterone cream let a lone anything natural) and took it, after a short while my husband said I went insane. Bursts of anger, insomnia, rage, depression. He tells me things I can't even remember from it. I vaguely remember some. But my memory is mostly gone of those years. Rage including throwing scissors at him, as he recalls. Years later, as blood tests & physical testing proves: Vit D deficiency, arthritis, bone loss, cartilage loss, tmj, severe joint pain, disc pain, terrible skin rash, nausea, dizzy spells, memory loss, anger, hearing loss and tinnitis, severe headaches, to name a few. Some days I would rather be dead than to live through the pain it has caused me. But I have a son, and I'm only 28. Here's to trying to heal what has been broken.
