I'm a single father who made some bad decisions in the past and was convicted of a felony for drug possession. I cant find a job that pays enough to support my son and I. I am fully able and willing to work for a large amount of different companies that pay well enough to support my son and I, but I am unable too and get turned down with every chance I've had due to my felony conviction and their company policies and procedures. I really feel crappy and depressed and just feel like crawling in a hole sometimes when your foots in the door working for a large company with good benefits and great pay but as soon as the background check comes back or they read the fine print that I was honest and wrote down my criminal past I am basically thrown away like yesterdays news and any hope and dream I may of had to be able to raise my child goes out the window :( I have had nothing but bad luck every time being in this situation.. I'm not sure what else to do.. Thanks, MattREPORT COMMENTS

I can't get a job after having a DUI - so I stay on Unemployment. I am anxious to become a contributing member of society, but society doesn't seem to want me. I've been sober over two years.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a former corrections officer (sworn). When I sold my truck, I received counterfeit money orders as payment. When I went to verify money orders (not cash them) I was charged with Possession of Forged Instrument. Now, all my training and my life's dreams are gone forever.REPORT COMMENTS

I feel everyone makes mistake and sometimes we are punished beyond what is really needed, and the person who has done their time still has to carry the burden of a felony, amd they never get a secomd chance to live a normal life. Its time for a change and it needs to happen now.REPORT COMMENTS

I know this bill would help thousands of those who made that one mistake and did their restitution but will still carry the "brand" of felony with them for the rest of their lives. They truly deserve that second chance to live a fruitful life. Let's lift that "stigma" that they have already paid dearly for with fines, probation, incarceration and humiliation. Let's give them back their life.REPORT COMMENTS

This bill would really help ex-offenders with federal convictions, have another chance, sense they do it at a state level the government should do the same. It is very difficult to get a job as is and having a crimminal backgrond only makes things worst. People do change and should be given another chance to redeem thereselves, especially if it is there 1st offense.REPORT COMMENTS
