My only 2 family members have been railroaded by a corrupt system and are in prison illegally. I am nearly broke and no one cares. This injustice system needs to go!Jul 13th, 2016Someone from Compton, CA writes:

I deserve a second chance because I have paid my debt to society and have remained a respected citizen. Everyone deserves a second chance.REPORT COMMENTS

Everyone deserves a second chance and we ask that if a person completes a first offender it should not be disclosed to law enforcement for employment purposes alsoREPORT COMMENTS

Second,...Third,...and Fourth! We all need as many chances necessary to get it right. If a DOG is backed in a corner and feels it has no recourse, "it will bite"! The owner in turn, gives "the dog" another chance to prove it's loyalty. Are people with felon records animals or humans?...where is the humanity that American Leaders owe to the people?!...YOU are required to govern...not manipulate and influence the law to condemn those you serve. We all have fallen...even YOU State Representative! But, the best thing is having "recourse" to get back up again,...and Again! We are HUMAN...and our worth of Life is NOT measured by a single failure!REPORT COMMENTS

I believe everyone deserves a second chance. Once they have served their time, they should be able to get a good job and provide for the needs of themselves and their families.REPORT COMMENTS

I am now 61 years old. I live in a homeless shelter that only houses you for 21 days. I am on parole and drug test on a regular basis. I can not quailify for food stamps because of a prior drug conviction and the same applies to housing. If I have been proving to the Department of Criminal Justice Pardons and Parole that I am staying clean. And served my sentence givin to me by the state of Texas should this not qualify for a second chance at qualifing for these desperately needed services. What does one do in a situation like this. Not everyone covicted of a drug offense stays a druggie. Most learn from their mistakes and want to be part of society but the government does not allow them to . Where do you turn? Who will help? Surly society doesnt want to PUSH us back into the world of drugs and dispair.REPORT COMMENTS

My boyfriend has been out of prison for 19 years and has not been in any trouble since then. every time he tries to get a job his backround come back he has been to prision and he is told we do not hire ex-felons. That is why our prisons are so over populated. They give up and go back because that is the only place they can actually make it at. How are felons to get rehabilitated if they never even get a chance to work or even go back to school to secure the dream they have for their family as well as themselves. They have paid their debt to socity. Some longer that others. Let them get a job or go back to school so they do not want to go backREPORT COMMENTS
