Instead if giving people a maybe this year, give them an actual release date. It's ridiculous how you give them hope and take it away in a blink of an eye. My uncle is serving a life sentence that should be two years max. They say probably, then say no.

My son was given a 99 year sentence when he was 18 years old back in 1997. He is not A Young gang member anymore, quite to the Contrary he is an Educated ,grown Man who continues to Educate and Better Himself. He teaches English and Math at the Washington Correctional Center in Clallam Bay Washington. He sits on several committees for The Inmate Betterment Groups. Please Stop Mass Incarceration and bring Back Parole Dates.

My fiance first offense, received 60 years for complicity. His parents went back and forth to court to get his time reduced to 30. The judge has on record that he has spent enough time for actual crime he did. 15 years later he is still in. He is a model prisoner and has grown A LOT, He works and takes all the classes that he can. Despite his outcome he stays positive. He is VERY remorseful for the crime that HE did commit. I would love to see him come home one day, to be with the people that love him dearly!!!

I have a son who is serving 25 to life because he was being abused by a roommate. They went to a party and a guy lied to him and gave him something that set him off instead of relaxing him and he killed the roommate??or did he??? The kids all had the same story until the next day!! He needs a second chance. He was never in trouble. Not even a speeding ticket!

My Father has been locked away for over 36 years now! Everytime he goes in front of the parole board, he gets denied parole and gets a 2-3 year set back until he sees the board again! This isn't right! He did all the things to become a model prisoner and member of Society again. He's 66 years old and is a hard worker! He stills cleans the floors the old fashioned way, on his hands and knees and takes Pride in Janitorial work. All the Staff really respect my Dad and said he should not be locked up for all these years! He paid his dues and should be able to spend his remaining years at home with his family. The sad part is: His Mother passed and he wasn't even allowed to see her if only for a few minutes! Please help bring my Daddy Home! He left me when I was only 9 years old and part of that little girl died when he left for prison. He received 99 years to Life back in the 70's and that is Crazy. Please help bring my Dad and all the Model "Citizens" Home where they belong. Thank You!

Please work on a release for these offenders. I have a loved who has been locked away for 18 years for a crime he committed at 16. He has grown into a wonderful man and is ready for another chance at life. Please don't subject them to cruel and unusual punishment by keeping them in there.

This would be good for so many people who have accepted their mistakes and are willing to live a righteous life. Children that have grown up without their fathers presence suffer tremendously and while the adult's action is what led them to be imprisoned if they have shown remorse and have turned their life's around, they deserve a second chance.

This is why the prison system is so overcrowded. The inmates are placed behind bars and the keys are being thrown away. My husband as excepted his responsibility as a man for what took place when he was 18yrs old. He has served 19yrs in prison, his son entire life. A man's life was taken but my husband did not commit the crime. Due to the fact that he was there, yes he deserved to do his time but not the time for what someone else had done.
