Rehabilitation, restoration and reduction of recidivism is possible. Many model programs exist, Texas should have healthy pride in becoming a leader, paving way for healthy numbers. It is unhealthy being the leading execution state. If a prisoner has a projected release date, he has a reason to hope and will increase his prison and free world behavior. May God reach every member of the Texas board of pardon and parole. In Jesus name, Amen.

I believe in giving second chances. we all make mistakes in life some more egregious then others. But generally most people feel regret over such mistakes and if given another chance would never repeat that same mistake again in life.

Second chances should be given. If a true change has been made, then the opportunity to give parole should be honored.

If prisoner truly show remorse and receives forgiveness from their victims, the justice system need to give them a chance at life. Give them the education to obtain marketable skills.

To whom it may concern i am writing this regarding my good friend that he be release soon because he has served more than enough. I asked that you give him another chance to come out and be with my family and friends. I know that everyone deserve a chance and I know that there's a consequence to every crime that is committed. Like the saying go"Forget and Forgive." Give him another chance and let him start over!

To keep a grudge and hold a vengeance is to sin. Forgiveness we all deserve.

Hey my name is Edith and I went over the senate bill sb260 and I agree with it completely .too many young man and woman are suffering for a mistake they done or were involve in at a young age and are now serving life sentence for it this bill needs to be and should pass on to every state specially the state of Ga my husband who is serving a life sentence in the state of Ga has been serving it for over a decade and a half he's one of the idividuals who deserve a second chance who was also only 17and 10 days when the crime was commited. Its sad that society only judges us and our love ones for any crime that someone commit or was involve in where there are no records of our good deeds are reported except with the one we have done it for but none of the less when Crimes are commited the guilty should be punish but it is not right when the punishment is to severe and unfair. I met my husban during his encarcelation and his the greatest man I have ever met its sad that the paroleboard who do not love our love ones aautomatically assume they are heartless animals and treat them as such. When many of our love ones are just the opposite who made a mistake I understand that people want justice but good does it do to keep a good man lock up. My husband who was in college when the crime occur he has never done drugs nor alcohol was just a young man trying to help a childhood friend when the worse thing happen and another man lost his life and several people including my husband where given a life sentence at such a young age please help me chance the eyes of society in thinking that all lifers are bad people . I myself do not know nothing about the law and if any of you are like me and want to help the good man and woman who are in prison and deserve a second chance please email me at peque19742@hot mail.com Sincerely a loving wife to a great man who deserves a second chance Edith Yat....

my son was 16yrs old he is now 40yrs old compledet every program that has been offered in ga prison there is nothingels for him to do except beeing warehoused. He deserves a second chance in life as do so many other that came in to the system as juveniles. I also believe that the STOCK MARKET is buming trough incarceration of the youth since the parent is paying for there salarie, phone, food, ordering things for that inmate its a never ending game!!

I think lifers should be given a chance to have parole. This topic is a very sensitive topic for me, because my own father is stuck in a Pennsylvania Correctional Facility for a murder that he did not commit. I have proof of arrest records that indicate that my father was already incarcerated in another facility going on 3 months, to serve a three year sentence when the murder occurred . Still my father was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. I understand my father was not a saint and did get himself involved with situations that he had no purpose putting himself in with a newborn(me) at home and my mother to fend for herself. Understand that if my father did commit this crime I will accept the fact that if you did the crime you have to do the time. But with having police records, and proof that he is innocent, I cant sleep at night knowing that there is no hope for my father and trying and trying to find help I never succeed. So yes I think lifers should get the possibility of parole, especially my father who is an innocent man that is expected to rot behind walls of a corrupt correctional facility in "common wealth" Pennsylvania.

why are we wasting our time writing letters to a site that says" petition for lifer release dates" yet nothing is happening!!!!! it's an automated system that kicks back a response email. no one cares about our loved ones. no one's cares unless they are personally effected. they treat our loved ones like crap and the families that go Visit them. #giveourlovedonestheirdates
