First, thank you for taking your time for this. Life sentence for young adults with no previous record in his or her record needs to be reconsidered. Instead consider sending them through rehabilitation and a life community services with tracking progress through parole officer and put a GPS tracking on them and of course all these services are paid by the person sentenced to life.REPORT COMMENTS

Hi my fiance is a lifer with the possibility of parole. He has been in prison since 1998 at the age of 17 he was raken to prison. He has completed all the classes required for him to take,he has also qorked for the warden, he has done detail and he has been a real good inmate. He comes up for parole in 2017 he speaks highly about how remorseful he is for the crime he was found guilty of and he also has changed a lot over the years. You have so many people being denied paeole and they have done everything required to do plus more have been on good behavior as well and yet they dont come up for parole . I pray unto those reading this that he is granted a far chance and another chance in society for he was a teen and now he has grown, had a chance to reevaluate himself and more.thank you for reading. I would like to speak on behalf of Mr. Jahmal Bolden (859575). I came to know Jahmal initially in church at a men's correctional facility in Georgia over 7 years ago. From the time of our very first conversation, it was extremely evident that he was a God fearing man. Over the years, he became a great friend and confidant. Each and every time I read a letter that he has written, my heart breaks with compassion and even some sorrow, the man of the depth and character would be confined to four walls, only to be seen as a number and a dollar sign to our state's biggest business, the prison system. To know that this good man, and many others like him, are still serving time in a correctional facility after having corrected their past ways, knowing how to exercise right instead of doing wrong, continually creates sadness in my heart. When a man has put off his old ways and becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus, do we as a society not also offer the compassion to allow that individual to become a valuable member of society? Is there any one of you that can definitively state that a man does not deserve a second chance? It is extremely unfortunate that to the state of Georgia Board of parole and pardons that he is just a number and a statistic when, in fact, he is a living, breathing, loving, compassionate, passionate, and yes, a Good individual whose only desire is to be a father to his children a husband to his fiancee and an integral part of our society. Jahmal has now served 21 years after being imprisoned at the age of 17 for a mistake that he will live with the rest of his life. Is this not enough as of this day? Though I cannot speak for every individual serving time in prison, I can speak for this man, and stand by my recommendation to free him, to allow him to live on natural life and society as a father, a hard working tax payer, a man who raises God fearing children, and a loving husband to his soon to be wife. It is so prayed.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband has been in prison since the age of 16 years old, he is 35 years old and he was just set off three years for the same thing 49-2-49c due to the nature of his offense that he was set off 4 years ago for... this is unfair when he's done everything required and showed change... how can he become productive if no one gives him a opportunity to show change...REPORT COMMENTS

I believe lifers should get a second chance in life especially they did their crime at a young age between 18 to 21. I believe they deserve a second chance they are willing to come back home and start a new life with a second chance they have given.REPORT COMMENTS

I strong feel that after X amount of years, we as a society should give people a second chance to prove that they have learned from their mistake.
