We are slaves to your corporations, zombies to your airwaves, servants to your decadence. You?ve stolen our elections, assassinated our leaders, and abolished our basic rights as human beings. You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions. You?ve profited off of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our cost of living. You?ve monopolized our freedom, stripped away our education, and have almost extinguished our flame. We are hit? we are bleeding? but we ain?t got time to bleed. I feel it is a crime of how all felons are linked together. When is this country going to forgive????When the debt is paid, & some severely paid, let them go on & make the best of their lives, having learned from their mistakes. All felons are not the same! My two young grandsons screwed up, stupid stuff. At 18 & 19 yrs. old their lives are ruined. Can't even get a job as a dishwasher!Horrible, just horrible. I will not shut my mouth over this. I agree, if it was someone well known or had money(of ones I do know) it wouldn't be happening. Now you felons, if you're stuped enough to keep doin the crime, that's a different story. Learn from a mistake & move on!,With great love for people & the great nation I am blessed to live in.Let's make things right for the people, by the people, help the people to make this even a greater country.JuliaREPORT COMMENTS

I think that a person male or female \felon should have the right to request that he serve his country of course depends on the crime committed. A young kid 17-22 years with one felony vs. someone who commtted arm robbery or rape. Then the records should be expunged once the military obligation has been met.REPORT COMMENTS

It is hard enough for felons to get a job after they are released from prison. I joined the military and learned discipline and I am sure it prevented me from going to prison.REPORT COMMENTS

We lock up people for profit in this country. In some demographics every encounter you have with the police results in a charge. They used slap the hands of 15, 16 and 17 year olds, now they send them straight to adult court. Now the military is full of the types of people who would not join if they thought they would be deployed. It should be UNDERSTOOD that charging a juvenile as an ADULT FELON who has no criminal record for a petty crime is an EPIDEMIC. It is OUTRAGEOUS to ruin a child future before their 18th birthday. But maybe that is the intent.REPORT COMMENTS

People do change. How is society a better place having a mass of stigmatized people who are refused jobs, housing, and education because of a mistake made in their past. Continuing to ignore these people's redemption is only opening the door for an increase in crime rates, considering most ex-cons are repeat offenders. I believe most felons want to live a socially acceptable life, but how are they to when everywhere they turn doors are slammed in their faces, barring their reintegration back into society. I guarantee that if felons were granted rehabilitation in the form of access to employment, military service, and housing, crime rates--especially for repeat offenders--would decrease immensely. Something to think about.REPORT COMMENTS

You no people make mistakes all the time. And me personally I'm a convicted felon as well do to drugs,& now I've been clean for over 27 months now. And I'm also an Ordained Minister, have five college degrees,a 3rd degree black belt & an Eagle Scout! And just because I've made a few mistakes in my life, shouldn't mean that I have to pay for it for the rest of my life! Also if they wrote & made laws that made sense we wouldn't have the problems that we do today! And the reason nothing really gets done at all is because of scare tactics by the government unfortunately, but that's the truth. And nothing is going to be done because not enough citizens are standing up for there rights as an american!REPORT COMMENTS

This is William again. everyday i grow angry @ the rule that felons can't get into the military! i just got out of prison 3 months ago and I'm floating around trying to find something to do with my life. What dose the gov expect people like me 2 do. I'm a fit able bodied mad, college grad, smart and ready to do anything i can 2 redeem myself! But no matter what, the gov Will not allow me to join MY COUNTRY'S military. I'm a 100% for not allowing child molesters, rapists, and serial murders into the military. No brainier there! But guys like me, who went to prison for terrorist threats, an exaggerated charge at that, should be allowed to serve. Congress, President!!! Please fix this issue before i get to old! Let me and my brothers and sisters who have changed and want to turn there lives around be able to join the military. We have nothing as it is. I know I want to give back. PLEASE LET ME! You know damn well if world war three broke out, heaven forbid, you'd take every felon this county has! LET US IS! ITS ARE RIGHT! If you are reading these posts, my brothers and sisters? Keep on writing letters and get your friends and families to do the same!!!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a convicted felon.I made poor choices when i was younger and i have changed my life around in a 360..I have tried to join the Army twice and i keep getting shut down.I think the military should look at more than just the "felony" and actually look at how long it has been and how a person has been living since then.I payed my debt by 2 1/2 years in prison and i feel that i am still paying my debt to society even though its been 10 years since i've been out of prison..I would love the chance to show my country that i am more than what they portray me to be.A damn criminal.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a convicted felon for something i can honestly say I did not do, I even went to a court appointed therapist for an assessment andd they agreed that I was innocent, I was going to school for nursing and wanted to join the navy and that dream was taken from me.
