I am felon. I am not proud of my decision to become one, but it has help me grow in ways I would have never been able to on my own. I don't believe in excuses anymore so the fact that I had no parental guidance only should say that I've come a long way on my own and I'm still here willing to make changes to fit in to society.

I just don't understand why people who serve their time have to continue to be punished the rest of their life for something that they've already paid for. If you go to prison and pay your debt to society, why is it fair that we have to continue to be punished by society?

Age, type of crime, circumstances at the time should all be taken into consideration. I know someone who listened to his public defender and it was to his detriment.

We all make mistakes and the Army/Military needs many men to defend us and I would prefer it be people who WANT to serve rather than having the draft again.

Many successful people have committed crimes when they was younger but that never stopped their success. Same for us, if you have shown change... there shouldn't be a problem

Certain felons should be considered. It's not right to discriminate due to the past. You should be looking at their present and their future and who they have become since committing the felony.

Please give us the right to fight for our country. Some of us have made mistakes. All of us including me has made bad decisions .everyone does. We learn from experience and need discipline. the military would be a great opportunity. Would discipline us. I'm speaking for others like me. Cut the $#*t. Some don't deserve to go. But give certain people with certain natural ability's a chance to say we fought for our country or died trying. One man can't make a difference but he/ or a group that thinks they can may be able to. Actually one out of the group can make a difference. Each and everyone of us can. THE REASON, THAT I WOULD like to serve is because my brother is my hero. He operated with the SEALS. I remember a lot of the boys that were mentioned in certain movies that make it. I remember dad taking us all out to eat when my brother came home from.. whatever.. all good boys. I was a kid at the time. They messed with me, taught me a lot. As well as dad and my brother. I just want to pick up where my brother left off and think that I might can be that one man that sacrifices himself to make sure 3 brothers make it home. I have 2 kids and it's hard to say. But if I had the chance I would leave and fight with everything I have. I'm sure there are plenty others out there like me. My name is Jake Weaver. I'm from South Carolina. Thanks for reading this y'all. Stay safe and shoot smart. Cheers
