I am one of the victims with a UoP degree who still works in construction to afford loan repayment. Fraud all around and no one to answer your questions, even after you pay them thousands.

University of Phoenix counselors sold me on the fact that they promised my degree in healthcare informatics would be in demand and that was not true. I have not been able to use my degree to get any job. I work for the state and they do not even recognize my degree. In fact, I was told that if I an applicant has a degree from UOP that I am to disregard the application. In my field, the UOP degree is a negative credential and I feel totally scammed by them. Worthless education that has done more harm than good in my case.

Thank goodness I saw this! I suffer in debt because if this school! The enrollment staff suckered me in my early 20s and I'm now 45,000 in debt +! I cry every time I see it and wish I could Go back to school and have something to show for it! I had to drop out because they taught me nothing for the state test! I want a fresh start!

I was mislead and bamboozled by the Financial Aid and Admissions Depts of University of Phoenix. i was told that previous credits transferred from other accredited colleges and universities did not qualify and I would have to repeat these courses...in which I did. Now I would like my money back for the countless student loans used for this scam.

I have so much debt for a degree I can't even use. I was pressured to sign up right out of high school. I had to work as nothing was handed to me so online classes were the best option. I ended up getting sick & needed to take a break but was still being signed up for classes. They were just collecting money until I finally requested information on my loans and realized what was going on.

I agree that all the loans should be forgiven due to the amount of time we put into our schooling at UOP, time away from our families and other life we could have been living to only find out our time was wasted and our degrees are useless. I feel we should be paid back at least for the money we paid back be it in payments, income tax sanctions, paycheck sanctions, etc.. That was our hard earned money and we deserve it back if not more. As well UOP should be shut down until the school can follow stricter guidelines to protect students in the future if not shut down completely.

I went to UOP for 4 years, made all A's, graduated with Honors, and STILL wasn't granted any scholarships from there. And I applied for several! I should've been granted some just based on my grades and effort! Most of the people I knew we're just there to make a passing grade. I regret ever going to University of Phoenix because it has done nothing for me but put me in debt and ruin my credit. Something has to be done, and I need to be compensated!

I left UoP after noticing how much money they were taking for classes. This school is a complete rip-off and we should all be compensated for the money wasted there. The staff lied about accreditation and so much more putting many students in debt. This is a sad situation. What will the government do about this 3 Ring Circus of a school?

They let me complete an entire degree program and assured me that I would be able to teach in my state. When I went to take the praxis I was informed that their degrees are not honored here and I couldn't even apply as an out of state teacher. I owe over 40,000 for a degree that I can never use. I can't go back to school somewhere else because I owe UOP. This has been an 8 year nightmare that has made my professional life hell.

I graduated in 2010, with a M.I.S., and I have not obtained a job where I could use the degree, or better my life. I pay hundreds of dollars a month, and will be retired when I finally pay off this loan. Please do something before this bubble consumes the U.S.

I graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration and then a Masters in Healthcare Administration. I studied hard while raising my kids and now my grandchildren, worked at a dead end job, trying to build my future and help my family succeed. I thought the degrees would make my skills desirable to potential employers, but have not been successful in finding gainful employment, No matter how many resumes I send out, I never get a call back. Over $100,000 in debt, and unemployed.

I am still in an entry level job since graduating from UOP in 2005. I have been laughed at during interviews when I say I obtained my degree from the University of Phoenix. I am $37,000 in debt and have two children that could not attend college because of my debt. My credit has been ruined and all the promises that the UOP sales staff made me turned out to be nothing but lies. I would love to see all of the student loan debt generated by the University of Phoenix dismissed and I also would like to see the Federal Government take a bigger role in helping to make attending college affordable for all Americans. When obtaining a college degree is more costly than a home mortgage, something is wrong and no one can get ahead that way. It hurts all of us. New York has recently taken a stand in helping to provide higher education for its constituents without the financial burden that has been traditionally associated with attending college. We need that in America so that our future generations can gain the skill needed to keep America strong and innovative.

University of Phoenix is a for profit school that has profited on the backs on lower-middle class citizens looking to get a higher education to provide for their families. UoP also takes advantage of veterans seeking a higher education. Their school is NOT accredited and potential employers laugh at these degrees. Students come out of that school with crushing debt and a useless degree. I am asking Congress and the White House to forgive all student debt accrued through the University of Phoenix and either shut this school down, or hold them to much more stringent academics before allowing 1 more cent of money to be granted to a potential UOP student for tuition.

My daughter took online courses to become a high school English teacher to help her get a good job for her family and graduated with a 3.97 GPA and she thought the work had been more like high school courses than college. Now she is in debt and her degree is useless piece of paper. She has taken the stat exam and has failed 4 times because she was not taught correctly in the first place! This is heartbreaking to our whole family.

I received an MBA from University of Phoenix in March of 2011. That has been five years since then, and I'm still working in an entry level capacity. This degree has done nothing for me but increase my student loan debt tremendously. I had to apply for the government's student loan income based repayment plan because I don't make enough annually to repay the regular monthly payment. I figure that I will still be paying for this useless degree when my daughter graduates from high school, ready to attend college herself. This loan has also prevented me from getting a mortgage because it has affected my debt to income ratio. I guess I'll be renting for the remainder of my days. I have family and friends that didn't get pass high school living better than I am, sad to say. This degree hasn't rewarded me with anything, and because of that I feel that I shouldn't have to pay for it. Congress needs to forgive all student loans from University of Phoenix and prevent them from swindling hardworking individuals out of money that they don't have.

I was also scammed at this school. They appeared legit for the education program. They promised me their program was accepted nationwide. Upon completion I found out I they were NOT accepted in Texas and I could not even take the state educator exams. They said they were approved and now 10 years later I find online that they were under investigation the entire time I attended. $40k now $70k because i never qualified to get the job I attended. The education agency says after 5 years of completion, even if university of Phoenix became approved to certify educators that those students would not qualify because 1 its past the time limit to test and 2 the college was OUT of compliance. I was a single working mother and totally fell for the load of crap the sales rep who posed as an admissions counselor sold me. This should be discharged and the school shut down
