I "graduated" in 2011 with my Associates degree in IT support only to find that southern Oregon's Rogue Community College does NOT accept the majority of my credits from University of Phoenix, INCLUDING my Computer Science credits. I have yet to find a job that has anything to do with my degree. I feel like I was scammed out of my time.

I went through the University of Phoenix from 2010 -2012 to earn my masters in accounting and when I started the recruiter seemed like the school helps you get in to a position with your degree. Like they had businesses that worked with them to hire new graduates. After paying like 40,000 on tuition with federal loans it took me 3 years after graduating to find a position along the lines of my degree.

I have a family of 6. I started classes with University of Phoenix in late 2009 Early 2010, and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. When I applied I spoke with my "counselor" about what I would need to do to get grants. As being a young father of 4 and being the sole provider, I thought I would have access to that. He assured me that I would as I applied for the school and financial aid. Had I known at the time that my "counselor" was simply a sales guy trying to get more money out of me, racking up my tuition, and debt...I would have never attended. I now cannot afford to pay for my student aid. I also am accruing copious amounts of interest, and this will never go away!

I am at a loss of words with this school and if it requires me to hire my own lawyer or attorney I Will! I was promised job security when I graduated never got that let alone a job that will accept the degree because of the accreditation. I am way over in debt due to University of Phoenix and it was not suppose to cost nearly what I am in debt. I was also misled in the program that I took saying I would not have a problem in the social worker field when they enrolled me in the human services course after being aware of it i brought it up and they kept telling me that it would not be a problem and I would be getting exactly what I wanted. I'm so discouraged with this school and am upset they not only did they take advantage of me i wasted 6 years of my life on education that is not even accredited or will I ever be able to use it.

My life has been ruined by my student loans debt with UOP. They lied to me. My Degree has never received any credibility in the job market. I am in my late fifties and that degree hindered my credit and ability to gain employment. They need to be punished for fraud.

I was told I would not have a problem finding a job with my associates degree in Healthcare administration. I told them my concerns about how I'd heard they were not accredited and they laughed at me and told me if we aren't accredited how can we provide a degree? They assured me they were an accredited school on multiple occasions. I have not been able to use my degree. And I'm over my head in debt I cannot pay off. Help!

But looking at my degree I should, but they must not accept the University of Pheonix as a accredited school! I owe more than 50,000 in student loans and can not get a job due to a useless degree!!!

Same boat as most of you all. $40,000 in dept without much to show for it. The thought of paying on it for the next 25 years at 6.8% interest make me sick...basically taking a worthless $40,000 degree and making it a even more worthless $70,000 degree

This university is holding my transcripts hostage for money they say I owe that I do not owe. I've sent in numerous amounts of proof that it is not owed yet I can't get my transcripts so I've wasted over 40,000 on a degree that I can't even get transcripts for.

When I spoke to financial aid, the advisor only informed me to fill out the application on FAFSA. I was never informed that I would need loans... Let alone that I was getting them. After leaving UofP due to a low grade based on a difference of opinion (all the work & participation was done. I went to the local community college and there I signed a promissory note... The first I time I had looked into and spoke with my parents about loans was when I went to the community college. It was also the only time I had ever heard of/signed a promissory note. I had an estimated contribution of 0, and received 3 grants. So, how in the world, in less than 1 year of school did I accumulate over 20 Grand in student loans.... That's would make each class well over 3,000 each. UofP also wouldn't even allow me to transfer my credits. Financial advisors are liars, the school is an organization of thieves. Classes were a joke, "teachers" refuse to give help, and you're not allowed to have a difference of opinion in a class about how opinions differ through different cultures.... This school takes advantage of naive people trying to better their life. I have 5 children and at the time I had a full time job, and a part time job... I just wanted to give my family more. And I got screwed.

I received my Associates degree in 2012in Information tech in web design. Employers see UoP and laugh at their degree. I went to the local junior college and none of my credits would transfer. The counselor there then said "Look I know you worked hard but we see a lot of UoP degrees here and they don't transfer they are very expensive copies of toilet paper." Before I found out how crooked Phoenix was and my degree did not matter I was going to get my Bachelors degree and continue my education in the same field. As soon as I graduated with my Associates I wanted to take a little break so when the recruiter called I let him know that. He then proceeds to tell me that if I take off more than 14 business days it will be difficult to get back in for my Bachelors that I should just go ahead and work on getting my loan for it and start right away. I did go ahead and did what he tricked me into and signed up to start right away I got the loan and then figured out what a rip off UoP is and quit. Now I am $40,000 in debt in student loans and I will not pay them because employers laugh at their degrees and other REAL colleges will not take their credits. Has anyone had any updates on these deceptive practices.

The "counselor" at UOP convinced me to take out a LOT of loans even though the VA had agreed to pay for all of my schooling through UOP. My degree is useless, every job I have applied for in the last 6 years won't recognize the degree, and here I sit with over $40K of debt. The not only screwed me, they ripped off the Federal Government & VA! UOP should pay off this debt for these loans they convinced me to take out!

I took a course with UOP in 2015 and was withdrawn from class by the school even though I turned in my first week's homework. They kept the money that the VA paid them for over a year before I applied again and took the same class they withdrew me from. During the year I was withdrawn, the VA had me paying them back because the school had not paid this money back. UOP finally returned the money they owed the VA at the start of me taking the second course but told me that I owed the school over $300. They sent the account into collections in rapid time and now it is negatively impacting my credit. I paid quite a bit back to the VA because of this school's greed and I want my money back and this lackadaisical school shut down so it does not prey upon any more people.

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from University of Phoenix in 2005. To get said degree, I amassed student loans over $35,000. When recruited, I was encouraged to consider moving to UofP paid for by Student loans from the Community College that I was paying cash for an Associates Degree. The recruiter told me that taking a loan for college with the resulting job advancement is the best investment I could do for myself. He asked me if I would consider taking a loan for a car and if I would then how could I not consider taking a loan for school. I have not been able to get a job in IT with this degree and continue to carry the burden of the loans that with some accrued interest that are now above $38,000.
