I myself am headed in the same direction as everyone else it's not up to the Government who just sit on their duffs all day, they make up these laws that they nothing about. to make pain Patient's life so bad that a lot of my friends and people that I have heard about have taken their own lives. It's terrible when I can drive a mile from my own house pick up a gallon of hard alcohol Then go out and kill 1-20 people or more people from intoxication,They have no idea what they are doing.I have been a Patient for 20+ years now, Without any help, I am nothing but a vegetable. I am not a drug addict I just want to live the rest of my life with some dignity, I am actually gearing up. In case someone doesn't realize in congress what they are doing to us, If they don't realize what they are doing I'm working as hard as I can just to get my affairs in order, I'm not sure how I'm even going to do my shopping,Driving to appointment etc I'm afraid of what's going to happen to me as well. The government needs to keep out of our personal business. If drug attics are killing themselves. What's going to happen once Pain Patients start dropping as well ,will they just look back and say oops we made a mistake ? Every time I have seen a new law concerning pain meds. Things haven't gotten better they have only gotten worse. -

I am a 56 yr old grandmother of 10. I have had fibromyalgia for over 24 years. I am a double mastectomy cancer patient and have been through over 20 surgeries in my life. I have degenerative disks disease and arthritis and havery had a spinal fusion. I also suffer with chronic pancreatic issues. After my pain management rheumatologist of 15 years retired I was sent to his partner in the office and was assured that he would continue my pain management. He will not even discuss it with me and refused to continue my pain meds. I am now on track to be seen in a pain management clinic that treats addiction patients as well. I was told that I will be required to pee in a cup every time I visit the office and I will have to do it with someone watching! I am horrified at the concept! I don't understand what I did to deserve to be treated like an addict. I have found that i am not the exception but the rule now. This is so degrading and humiliating. Its disgraceful that this is what has become of our health care system.REPORT COMMENTS

As said above, since the misguided legal objectives for an issue that is medical in nature us causing me to total withdraw, gain weight, be unable to travel out participate in activities with my family, cannot use a vacuum, etc, etc EVER SINCE DOCTORS BECAME AFRAID TO PRESCRIBE PAIN MEDS for those if us who DO NOT ABUSER THEM! LOOK UP THE TRUE INFORMATION: Dependency DOES NOT EQUAL addiction! Talk to Addiction Treatment Providers! These can be found at any detox or rehab. They can give the DSM V definitions of abuse and addiction. Berry yet, read the criteria yourself! Please FREAKIN Help those if us who are going more towards suicide than life in unbearable pain. Senators Booker, Menendez and Smith, Why are you not paying attention to the INHUMANE AND BARBARIC treatment being done to pain patients !?!? YOU ARE KILLING INNOCENT LAW ABIDING CHRONICALLY ILL CITIZENS WHO DEPEND ON OPIODS FOR A QUALITY OF LIFE AND DENYING PAIN PTS THEIR LIFESAVING MEDICATION! HOW MANY MORE LIVES LOST TO SUICIDE FROM PAIN PTS BEING FORCED TO SUFFER BY ALL OF YOU IN CONGRESS WHO ARE CONTINUING DOWN THE ROAD OF GENOCIDE!!! All I hear is addiction on the media, our lifesaving pain medication being blamed for the overdoses, which BTW. the numbers put out by the CDC are FALSE! How can you legitimately blame the pain community for the lives lost due to overdoses when it's the HEROIN AND ILLEGAL FENTANYL THAT IS POURING INTO OUR COUNTRY!! The DEA has targeted every dr who continues to treat their pain pts with opiods, leaving us pain pts with years of medical records, abandoned by the medical community!!! THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW! WE ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. ARE YOU PEOPLE SO BLIND THAT YOU CANNOT SEE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS!?!? YES THE SUICIDE RATE IS SKYROCKETING ALONG WITH THE OVERDOSES DUE TO HEROIN OR ILLEGAL FENTANYL, WHEN YOU LEAVE A PAIN PT TO SUFFER IN SEVERE PAIN WITH NO OPTIONS BUT THE STREETS FOR RELIEF OR SUICIDE!! I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT KARMA PAYS YOU ALL A VISIT REAL SOON AND YOU WILL FIND OUT WHAT SEVERE NEVER ENDING PAIN IS ALL ABOUT, SHAME THE F***K ON ALL OF YOU, !!REPORT COMMENTS

I've been on opiods for 10 years. Due to chronic pain in my cervical spine, my spine has no inward curve it's totally straight. After 6 years my cervical spine has formed scolliosis, and spinal stenoesis. The pain is unbearable. I have degenerated disc disease throughout my spine, artheritis in my hips, lumbar spine. I have bulging disc. The curvature in lower back goes inward to far. I also have fibromyalgia.. April of 2016 My Doctor stopped all my pain meds. Did not wein me off.. My quality of live is zero. I can't stand, walk without unbearable pain. This isn't fair, what the Government has done to us chronic pain patients.. There is legit people out here that take pain meds the way they're prescribed.. Why punish us?? The pain meds I was on was Oxy Codone 5mg, 6per Day.. Fetnyl Patch 12 mcgs per hour wich hepled me alot with sleeping. I wake up every 2 hours in so much pain in my hips and lower back.. My new Prime Care Doctor will not perscribe pain meds at all. She even says it's the law..REPORT COMMENTS

I'm heart broken bcuz I would rather have the problem fixed then covered up with pain medication. This is ridiculous that the DEA can tell a doctor how to treat their chronic pain patients. I thought there is suppose to doctor/ patient confidentiality. What happened to let a doctor treat their patient as needed? I don't see the DEA going after the methadone clinics but they're chastising good doctors for treating their chronic pain patients with opiates. I didn't wake up one day to say hey let me be in excruciating pain and have a doctor get me dependant on pain medications. Then just pull me off those pain medications as fast as I was put on them. I don't abuse my pain medication and I surely don't sell them. Why do I have to suffer for other people's mistakes?REPORT COMMENTS
