After having back and neck surgery and still suffering from degenerative disc disease I am now considered a drug seeker and can get no help or relief. My doctors are afraid of contributing to the world wide issues of drug users, so, I suffer, and no one cares. This must stop! Help those who suffer.REPORT COMMENTS

I've experienced everyone of these examples. Pain should be treatable in any way!REPORT COMMENTS

I like most have to go on a road trip to find my medication. I take as prescribed, never fill early or take more than prescribed. Every month has become an all out nightmare and the stress and fear is making life unbearable. I can't help that I need this medication to function a normal life. I live in fear of the day I will not be able to find the medication at all. I agree that the abuse needs to end for those who take for reasons other than true pain, but it isn't fair to punish those who are legitimately on this medication. The point is futile because those who obtain for illegal reasons are going to get it or go to a more harmful drug like heroin. The actions by the DEA is only hurting the people who are on this medication for legitimate reasons.REPORT COMMENTS

So awful how this administration and physicians are targeting people for chronic pain instead of helping.REPORT COMMENTS

As a chronic pain patient, I am so tired of being treated like a "drug seeker" with no respect from the pharmacist whatsoever!REPORT COMMENTS

I am legally disabled from severe chronic pain and my family pharmacist will no longer fill my scripts because he is afraid of the DEA and Attorney Pam Bondi in Florida! Cardiac Adrenal Pain Syndrome can only be treated with opiate medication.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a real issue for thousands and thousands of individuals. A "One size fits all" policy seems to be what the powers at be seem to want to implement. Everyone is an individual. There are times when I even can find my medication after driving from pharmacy to pharmacy, to find out that the pharmacies too are in on the game. Medication that used to cost $.30 a pill, now routinely goes for $2, or more. Thank you for your support.REPORT COMMENTS

Drug dependency means you need your medicone every day or you will go into withdrawal. You only take your medicine as prescribed. Addiction is craving more frequent or higher doses, tryimg to get them dishonestly. Most pain patients that neep daily opiods become dependent not addicted.REPORT COMMENTS

Florida pharmacies are denying patients their medications, claiming short stock supplied by wholesalers and of course by discrimination caused by the stigma and negative media. Pain doctors are undertreating patients who need these medications because of fear brought on by the DEA and the same issues as pharmacies. Legitimate pain patients are MANY and the US government in Washington DC need to STOP the DEA from bringing fear to medical professionals who are supposed to be involved with patient care. **Florida is the prime example of bad decision making by going "Overboard" and allowing the DEA to interfere in medical care. Over 100 million people suffer with chronic pain daily in the US caused by MANY pain conditions. Opioids give many patients some functioning back in their lives. The economy is still very bad and these patients need to be able to work to remain alive and support their families. STOP discriminating and start worrying about human life.REPORT COMMENTS

I have fibromyalgia, had multiple surgeries, IBS, and mold exposure. Drug addicts preventing me from getting the medications I need to function, provide and take care of my son and my wife. I should not be punished for the wrongs of others. Stop treating pain patients as drug addicts and criminals now. The DEA needs to have a great deal of their power stripped. They have no business in the legitimate pain management business. Am I addicted? Yes, I am, and I don't care. I will have pain for the rest of my life and what does it matter if I'm addicted to pain medication if that is the medicine I require to live a full and healthy life? I can barely get the medications I need to function and my doctor is now referring me to a pain clinic since apparently the DEA made their rounds early this year (2014), terrorizing the physicians into not treating their patient's medical issues. The DEA has overstepped their authority by getting into legally prescribed medications. Go after the dealers, not the doctors. If the doctor is a real drug dealer, go after him, but not for treating his patients properly and legally. The first attorney that files a class action against the DEA and pharmacies who are profiling that attorney can count me in. If I didn't get my pain medication, I'd be on disability. That's not a good thing for an engineer with advanced degrees. How can that be helpful for America to cause me to have to resign my job and stop contributing to society? I wish a life of pain and suffering on anyone opposing the sales of any pain medications and anyone punishing physicians for the proper treatment of deserving patients by their doctors. America is not the first grade class where the whole class is punished for the deeds of one student by a witchy, mean teacher. The DEA is creating the illegal and black drug markets.REPORT COMMENTS
