Let those of us with the healthcare licenses take care of our patients as we see fit.

Living in chronic pain without pain medication, is not a life worth living! What is it for if it's not to treat pain?

This war on chronic pain patients has to stop. I've endured 10+ surgeries since 1997 in an effort to cure my pain, all to no avail. Pain medicine is my only option, and it is legal, so why am I treated like a criminal?

Suicide is the only remaining option. But in my case, the problem is not the doctor but rather the pharmacy. This is not a life worth living.

I suffer from Adhesive Arachnoidistis a condition CAUSED by a doctor who injected steroids into my spinal cord during an epidural steroid injection!! My Life is a living HELL! Everyday spent in horrible pain! Having to deal with dr's who one day might say too bad I don't want to treat you!! I'm NOT addicted to my pain medicine! Like a diabetic who is DEPENDENT on Insulin, so is the person with CHRONIC PAIN DEPENDENT on pain medication! I worked in Cardiac Cath for many years assisting doctors save the lives of people having heart attacks! Now I'm treated like a criminal all because a DOCTOR SCREWED UP!!

I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disk disease along with osteoarthritis and can no longer receive pain meds because of the new laws in NY state. My doctor refuses to write scripts for pain meds. I suffer every day now. Pain has become my way of life and I can no longer enjoy my life, can't keep up with my grandchildren or do simple tasks.

As you can see, many people who have signed this have considered suicide rather than live the way we are living. I can't say that I have reached that point-not because my pain is not excruciating but because of my family. I have been suffering since 1989 with the worst of it during the past 4 plus years. I was forced to retire from a job I loved and that paid extremely leaving the burden of our support on my husband's shoulders. Fortunately, I have a wonderful pain management doctor who treats me like a human being and is concerned with not only my pain but my overall health. However, I have noticed even he is becoming more conservative in prescribing my medications. He knows I am not a drug seeker but he has to deal with the DEA (we are in FL which is one of the worst states) Please have the DEA back off and have them go after the true drug problems-the kids on the streets selling to other kids, the cartels being illegal drugs in over our borders, etc. .

I recently had back surgery and had to go to 3 different drug stores to get a pain med prescription filled-no one should have to drive all over town to get a legal script filled!

I've been on daily pain meds for almost 30 yrs and will be for life (I'm 57 now). Without them, I wouldn't be able to function. I would never choose this for myself nor would I wish it on my worst enemy.

if the doctors could/would fix me, I would not need medication to survive. I do not ever dive on medication. I am very responsible with it and I hate it. if I didn't hurt, I wouldn't touch it. do you think I would not do almost anything to have my quality of life pre spine falling apart returned. yeah, I chose this! not. and there but for the grace of god go I, because it could be worse! I will never wish this on anyone!

If chronic pain sufferers are not the target, why can I say I'm a Heroin Addict and get in a methadone clinic easier then I can go to ER & get treated for chronic pain. I was called drug seeking with imaginary pain at 21 years old that left me 3 days from death when diagnosed. Drug seeking again with surgery infection size of basketball when I crawled into ER. Now I am drug seeking to live with the pain caused by ignored deadly medical conditions and sick of living in torture. My life is pure hell and when I can't take it anymore, DEA needs to be charged with my Death & leaving me in never ending torture with no way out.

how can doctors say they will not take patients that require narcotic prescriptions. its like failing a test. if you suffer from chronic pain or have a anxiety condition your off limits to health care in ky.

The Pain Management Doctors I have seen are using the fear of the DEA to schedule multiple high cost injections for their patients that are not effectively treating the pain they suffer. And like myself i have been forced to live with the pain because I won't agree to go deep in debt to have tests done that are not necessary and have already been done and reported. The DEA is not the family doctor or a doctor of any kind and we who truly need help with pain problems should not have to spend thousands of dollars on failed procedures that cannot due anything close to the relief of just the lowest Oxy prescription
