I have been a chronic pain patient for 15 yrs with rsd, I can not understand why I can not get the proper medication to keep my pain under some control, because doctors continue to think that every pain patient is a drug seeking idiot. There are times when I am in so much pain I cant move, think or even talk to my children or my wife. I think that doctors should re-think they way they treat chronic pain patients, since all we are doing is trying to get some of our life back that the pain has stolen away .

You do realize they are doing this to 1. Force people on to heroin. 2. Increase prison population. 3. Cause depopulation via suicide and 4. cause people to suffer. These people do not care about you, or your doctor or your pain. They probably sit there and jack off thinking about you in pain. These are sick creeps in our government and thats all there is too it. We have to either 1.Vote them out and completely change the way we get pain medicine. or 2. Second american revolution if all other peaceful methods have failed. I for one would rather die than live like this

This is sickening when I first hurt my back I could get hydrocodone no problem and now they are trying to make it harder to get? Hydrocodone is like candy anymore ive been on pain meds so long and been suffering from worse and worse pain. Yes if your opiate nieve its not. They need to not only repeal this law but change the entire pain management system! We are denied our right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Life in utter despair and pain and misery of not being able to get out of bed is not life, they are denying us the right to life, they are denying us and our doctors liberty. 1. noun the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views. How can one be happy when one is in absolute misery all day almost everyday and contemplates suicide. WE NEED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. We also need to sue for all the people who have committed suicide because the pain and the hopelessness was just unbearable. THEY NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! We are forced to either live in horrible pain or find our medications through illegal means (which I think is their plan). So they can have more prison labor. No more just sitting back and being quiet. When me and my fiance have documented proof of our pain and cannot find a pain doctor or PCP to take us or treat us it is utter ********. My fiances doctor told her to deal with the pain because 24 is too young to take pain medicines, she told them 24 is too young to have 4 disc protrusions in her back and 3 in her neck and to suffer from horrible back pain making her unable to walk and severe headaches everyday. They said oh thats too bad because we will not send you to a pain clinic without telling them we do not want you prescribed narcotics. We live in a nazi germany society when it comes to pain management and we are the jews!

I am a handicapped veteran, who suffers from Charcot's Neuroarthopathy. The bones in my feet are broken, and will never heal. My VA doc cut me off of my pain meds cold turkey and gave me foot cream! Over the counter foot cream to treat a broken foot. I used to be a functioning human being, and educator who graduated with honors. Now, I'm on welfare, and perpetually bed ridden, all because the DEA decided to change the rules so that legal drugs would be harder to get. Now, for the first time in 30 years, I'm drinking. I drink like a fish these days. It's the only way I can handle the pain. Many thanks to the brave lil' soldiers at the VA and the DEA for steering me clear of possible drug addiction. Being an alcoholic is way more fun!

My daughter has been in chronic pain for more than 20 years due to a car accident. The accident ocurred because of some careless driver. She now cannot get any of her pain medication. The pain management doctors won't see her and tell her there are alternatives. Funny thing is that they won't tell you what they are. Her primary physician says that she cannot write any prescription for any pain medication. The ER doctors will only give her less than half of her regular dosage and then will only give her enough for 8 days. During this time, she is violently sick because she is detoxing and in terrible chronic pain. She does not want to live anymore. She has two children and a grand child whom she rarely sees because she is in such horrible pain. She has no life and does not understand how a country like the US could let this happen to its' people. She has heard of 3 people who she once knew that committed suicide because they were also in chronic pain and could not take it anymore. How many more people are going to have to take their lives before something is done? Yet we the good ole USA are bleeding hearts when we see areas devastated by tornadoes, floods, etc. and yet our DEA Government sits back and does NOTHING WHEN THEIR OWN PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING. SHAME ON YOU. I WOULD HATE TO SEE ONE OF YOU OFFICIALS WHO SIGNED THIS HEINOUS DOCUMENT EVER END UP INJURED AND END UP WITH CHRONIC PAIN. OH YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT - YOU WOULD MAKE SURE YOU GOT THE MEDICATION THAT YOU NEEDED!

Once again they are in it for the money nothing else. I can go on and on not enough space. I always got my pills filled and even brought in my bottle if i had left overs to show. Never had stolen or sold them. Then i was put on a pill list. I will have to find them over seas and get a PO BOX like everyone else. Screw you dumbshits who passed this new drug law. Adults should have enough sense to lock up drugs from kids.

The DEA's war on prescription pain medication is ill-conceived and inhumane. In order to prevent a minority from abusing prescription pain medications the DEA has placed a significant burden on literally millions of U.S citizens like me who rely on prescription pain medication to make our lives bearable. Doctors and clinics are now afraid to prescribe prescription pain medication even to patients they've been treating for years for fear of harassment by the DEA, leaving millions of long-suffering Americans like me in agony and no longer able to lead normal lives.

I must have forgotten why laws existed. Did I miss something in the last 10 years of my working 2 jobs to make ends meet? I thought laws were put in place to detain, indict, and prosecute criminals to the fullest extent allowable by LAW. To ward off illegal activity. Not to punish legally abiding citizens. Don't punish me on your way to fighting lawlessness. Lawless acts pertaining to HCP, et al. 1. stealing of HCP 2. diverting of HCP 3. acceptance of HCP...either by theft or diversion. 4. falsifying legal medical documents by increasing number of HCP pills and/or refills. 5. possession of HCP without proper diagnosis by an MD. 6. MD run pill mills 7. frequently changing doctors, pharmacies to acquire HCP Lawfulness pertaining to HCP, et al. 1. taking prescribed doses 2. having proper diagnosis from an MD for HCP 3. same doctor, same pharmacy for HCP use 4. no diversion of HCP Any activity outside what is listed in a LAW is reason to prosecute. Don't punish me. Go after the ones you know are breaking the law. Don't issue a blanket rule and expect law abiding citizens to sit back and be punished to for following the law or rule. My pain management doctor quit prescribing HCP which helped ease my pain. He said NO MORE because of the new laws on HCP from the DEA, FDA and HHS. I call BS on that and anyone who supported the idea of punishing law abiding citizens. I'm sorry, BUT, it's not my fault your son OD'd on HCPs, maybe you should've cared less about your BMW, or 80 work week and more about what he was doing before it was too late. If I sale my HCP, or give them away ARREST ME!! If someone else sells their HCP or gives them away ARREST THEM!! It's that simple. BUT leave me the HELL alone if I'm following the LAW! This is sickening!!!

We put our animals to sleep by a Vet. when they suffer, but people are thrown in jail or padded psych rooms to endure more pain when they can't manage the pain taking their quality of life the Government dictates what you & can't do with your own life. People are suffering by a law that is nothing less than criminal, abusive, dictatorial, inhuman, & it is those that wrote & passed this law that are the manipulative controllers willing abuse of power in threatening doctors & patient with an Iron Fist that only hides behind a hammer & sickle, for this is an act of communistic social control, FOR CONTROL THE HEALTH, CONTROLS THE PERSON. We allowed this as much as doctors for we continued to give our rights & freedoms up in silence while the healthcare system was taken over by the government & anyone who spoke for freedom was shamed into silence & now they have control because we allowed it in becoming to political correct & worried about offending when the offense was really being calculated against us the American People. The politicians have not forgotten who they work for, as it was stated by the architect of Obamacare that the American voters are stupid & they laughed & got richer while believing & now saying the American people are stupid. A crime is a criminal act when it is intentional & this bill was that & is that & it is time to roar & be heard, to light up the air waves, to blast the sound waves of all media, write every radio show, overload the call centers of leaders offices, contact the news & load the buses to march the capital & get the lawyers to file the largest class action suite in history...for the buck stops hear & we need to remember we are Americans & this is our country & those we vote for work for us, not us for them. Look at how many vacations, benefits, perks, & salary we...yes we pay those we elect. If we hire them, then where is our power to hold them accountable. Look back in history & see this is what Hitler did one chess move at a time, we are only stupid if we don't think that could happen here.

I have a herniated disc and S.I. problems for over 9 years now. I have undergone over 70 physical therapy visits, numerous pool therapy visits, not to mention numerous chiropractic visits, back injection treatment, and being a guinea-pig to many different medications. I was told by my back Doctor's that surgery wasn?t a good option for me.; so after finally finding a medication that worked for me called Hydrocodone, This medication actually helped the pain and helped me to maintain my days, I have since been cut off the Hydrocodone medication by my current Doctor and I was not even tapered off of this narcotic medication. Keep in mind; I did not go to her because i was not happy with the meds or any other reason. She said that this had to be done because of the D.E.A. Scheduling changes. My Dr changed my medication to Oxycodone, and this med was not working for me until she upped the dosage, since then she lowered the dosage and I am very miserable. I raised waves with the Drs Staff because she did not prescribe what we discussed and a dosage that actually did help. And the staff would not let me discuss this matter with the Doctor. Please keep in mind that I have NEVER failed a drug test, NEVER lost nor had any medications stolen, never been to the E.R. for meds, and never gone Dr seeking for meds. I am miserable. I AM SIGNING THIS TO STOP BEING A VICTIM OF OUR OWN GOVERNMENT AND A department called the D.E.A. These Departments feel that they can have the power to control our Doctor's Decisions and the lack of the patient?s rights and quality of life decisions. Because our government and D.E.A. cannot figure out a logical solution to the abusers that seek some of the selected and abused medications the patient must suffer these consequences. D.E.A. PLEASE LIVE ONE DAY IN MY SHOES. you have no clue how miserable and what it feels like to constantly be in continuous PAIN, It is no wonder why we have so many people self medicating, Drug and alcohol abuse, and or deaths due to people not being able to seek help from the doctor to help them in chronic pain. I wish I wasn?t in pain; I was not given another treatment option except to deal with it, I WILL BE THE FIRST OF MILLIONS TO SIGN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO GET OUR RIGHTS AND LIVES BACK. Please allow the patient a say in their health decisions and treatment. So much for the patient?s HIPPA LAWS. These laws are not as good as the paper that that they are written on. so i have been taking vicodine for 6 years due to a horrible car accrident and nerve damage with tbi and ptsd never call my rx in early or late always passed drug screens and what not well i never had a problem till i missed my appointment the receptionist miss wrote my appointment date as the 7th my appointment was really the 4th i showed up the 7th to find the office was closed i called and they said i had missed my appointment and i asked them "well i have the appointment card with the 7th written on it and initalled by the receptionist what do i do now??" and i quote "well looks like you are******out of luck".... seriously and now i have to suffer because no other doctor will treat me even though they agree that i am one of the cases that this law hurts and not helps, all the doctors take one look at my records and instantly there attitudes change from "he just wants pills" to "oh my god i wish i could help you... but my hand are tied" they don't wanna be black listed and neither do i, and the dea doesn't relize that the drug dealers are still getting them and still selling them but now for even more money (inflation) so the drug dealers get richer and i suffer.... the dea need to target the drug dealers not the doctors

These polices are going to make the whole situation worse. Why don't' you instead try to make our medical system better? I've been hurt by many doctors who are in rush to make their fees ( because of privatization) and don't treat me properly and cause me pain which I then have to get meds for. I think you all like torturing people, esp the sick, old and poor. Your "fix" isn't going to work for anybody

Tired of being denied proper treatment because our doctors are too afraid to prescribe medications for chronic pain? If you are like me and the answer is YES! Then we have to find a way to have our voices heard. Write your states elected officials and get anyone involved you can to have this cruel treatment of legitimate chronic pain patients addressed. You can go to www.whitehouse.gov and find several links to voice your opinion.

I am a long term sufferer of pain. I have had 6 spinal surgeries, taken 4 pain management classes, have a 30+ year life with fibromyalgia, had 3 knee replacements, leaving my rt. knee with a chronic staph infection and other diseases destroying my joints and in my 30 years with Vicodin and after 25 years, the slightly stronger Norco. I have never 'abused, overdosed, sold or requested more and stonger pills and I have been treated as a junkie by doctors, nurses, pain managers, drug store pill counters, hospital workers and just plain ignorant, cruel and nasty people. I have also gone the herbal route.I am now facing 69 years of age. with the knowledge that I will never have to live through another day of misery because I am in the twilight of my life and not young, with a life of pain in front of me. Please,U.S. government, state and local governments GET OUT OF MY HEALTH CARE and let my doctor do his job!

Everyone must bring this issue to the for front of the public media, social media, and to all political leaders to get your patient rights back that have been taken away!!! Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REFAarpMWo8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isOlT5yujAs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsGIRDaoEis We Oppose Any Ban of Vicodin (Hydrocodone HCl) We, the People of the United States, feel we have the right to have access to medications that have, as their primary effect, relieving of acute or chronic pain. Vicodin (Hydrocodone Hydrochloride) has a proven track record of being a reliable medication for relieving pain enough that those afflicted with disabling pain, may function day to day. It appears that an administrative panel of the FDA have voted to ban Vicodin from use by patients, at the same time as they have moved to try to decrease dosage of certain over the counter pain products containing "Acetaminophen" (Tylenol). We see these actions as ultimately causing millions of people to suffer needlessly with intractable pain, simply because allegedly SOME people abuse these substances. Some people abuse and intake too much food, but it would be folly to ban all people from having access to food, in the same sense that it will cause needless suffering to millions, to remove one of the staples of pain management. Thus, we petition the government for redress of our grievances against this wrongheaded and ultimately, dangerous path which the Food and Drug Administration has embarked upon. We believe this vote was an over-reaction and a knee jerk response to a phantom problem. At the very least, before any hasty actions are undertaken, this should be put to a popular referendum to the people that will ultimately be harmed by this foolish proposed ban.

See this very good video from an actual doctor on this new law: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BR__-N54Ck Second video on what the illegal drug war has resulted in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WMGsOVfQMQ When the Government gets in the middle of the Doctor and Patient, the result is the patient becomes the victim. See how our brave troops and veterans are treated by Government Healthcare, what we are seeing is just the beginning of the Obamacare law that elected leaders read before signing it. Freedom is just an illusion.

This new law will cause an increase in suicide rates nationwide thanks to the government bureaucrats thinking they know better than doctors. People living in pain have now had any small chance of quality of life ripped from them. Those who are in chronic pain like cancer patients have to have this medication just to bare with pain day to day that is disabling. I guarantee not one of those who voted this law in has ever dealt with severe chronic pain themselves or with their loved ones. This is inhuman, uncompassionate, non-caring, heartless, neglect. Oh and thanks for creating a larger border drug problem now as the DEA and Government has created a entirely new market for illegal drug smugglers, they have given them everything but a store front to sell out of and this law will do nothing to stop the abusers, it only harms the honest patients that they have made victims. The government has only done one thing right consistently and that is screw things up for everyone. Did they do any real research and real studies of real patients, NO!!! They assumed based off the illegal abusers who will always get their hands on illegal drugs which the government wastes hundreds of billions of dollars on their losing drug war, they can't even secure the border allowing drugs and criminals to enter the U.S. everyday. PUT THIS TO A NATIONAL BALLOT VOTE AND LEAVE THE POLICITIANS OUT OF IT. YOU ARE JUST SEEING THE BEGINING OF THE NEW HEALTHCARE DISASTER, THEY CAN'T EVEN GET A SIMPLE WEBSITE MADE CORRECTLY ON ROLLING OUT OBAMACARE. ALSO THOSE LOOK AT THE FACTS AND THE FACTS WILL SHOW IT IS NOT THE PATIENTS ABUSING OR OVERDOSING ON THE DRUGS, IT IS THE ILLEGAL DRUG ABUSERS THAT WILL NOW HAVE GREATER ACCESS ON THE STREETS BECAUSE OTHER COUNTRIES WITH LARGE DRUG CARTELS NOW HAVE A NEW U.S. MARKET THAT IN REALITY MAKING IT EASIER TO GET DRUGS ON U.S. STREETS. IF THE GOVERNMENT KEEPS THIS BAN ON OPIATE PAIN MEDICATIONS, THEN THE U.S. STANDARD FOR TO OUT LAW THE HIGHEST THREE ABUSED DRUGS SHOULD BE FULLY OUTLAWED BEING 1) ALCOHOL THAT KILL MILLIONS PER YEAR INCLUDING CAUSING DOMESTIC VIOLANCE AND DWI DEATHS, 2) TOBACCO THAT KILLS MILLIONS OF PEOPLE EVERY YEAR AND THOSE EXPOSED TO SECOND HAND SMOKE FROM THE OVER 4000 THOUSAND CANCER CAUSING CHEMICALS ADDED TO THE TOBACCO THAT COST THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS 3) ALL OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS FROM COUGH SYRUP, COLD MEDICINE, TO HEADACHE PILLS (also mouth wash that alcoholics drink) THAT CAUSE MORE ORGAN DAMAGE, ABUSE, DEATHS, AND USED TO MAKE ILLEGAL METH. IF THE GOVERNMENT AND ALL THE POLITICIANS TRULY CARE THEN BAN ALL THESE 3 ACROSS THE NATION, OH, BUT THAT MEANS A LOSS IN LOBBY MONEY OR AS WE CALL BRIBES BUYING VOTES WHERE OPIATES ARE GENERIC WITH NO PATENT MEANING VERY LITTLE PROFIT, SO WHY NO SCHEDULE II RESTRICTIONS ON THE MUCH STRONGER FULLY SYNTHETIC PATENT PAIN MEDICATION LIKE TRAMADOL THAT PHARMACUTICAL COMPANIES HAVE BILLION DOLLAR PATENTS MEANING HUGE PROFITS WHERE THEY PAY POLITICIANS THROUGH

I work in healthcare & see everyday the difference in a patient's participatoom for rehabilitation that are receiving pain meds. Everyone who is living with chronic pain knows there is a much more significant increase in quality of life with pain meds when NEEDED. Chronic pain wears you down not only physically but emotionally as well.

First I'd like 2 say it is WRONG WRONG WRONG . Not helping us that are severely living in chronic pain and living with a deadly disease as I am and other uncurable diseases.. I got sick at 32 years old while I was working as a temp at the state workers compensation office and going to school .. I was diagnosed with chromic myofasical pain syndrome that was so severe and no cure that the dr told me I'd be crippled in 2-3 years. I didn't no what to think and how hurtful it was. Then I got Chronic fatigue immune deficiency and myalgic encephalomyoltis which is worse than MS, AIDS, and CANCER COMBINED. It is deadly it affects every single thing in your entire body till it kills u . I've lived in bed for over 9 years and been on SSI . I have also RA, Degenerative disk disease, aneuopathy, Osteoarthritis, IBS, Cervical neuritis, land lumbar neuritis spondylitis, my heart is enlarged due to my disease, ligt stroke , vascular disease, u name it I got it . I've suffered severely in pain , I go months without bathing , my mommy took care of me and I found her dead in sept on the couch . I'm not no addict never was m dying and can't get the help I need for my pain. I have 2 pay cash for me meds because of the laws of pharmacys not getting enough meds to help ppl. THIS IS WRONG WRONG and in human ine the way ppl that r truly suffering that can't get help . Why can't u check ppl medical history since u can do everything else and see who really needs pain management and the ones who don't . JUST BECAUSE OTHERS R ADDICTS AND OVERDOSING DOESNT MEAN THAT WE SHOULD SUFFER BECAUSE OF THEM . Everyone is not a addict in this country . I'm suffering so bad I can't take it no more. I'm dying I'm dying from my disease . Ppl choose there path to becom addicted and live like that that's not our fault .. Please help the ones that r suffering and dying !!! Pkease.. I have medical records from east west both and south from drs that my parents went broke and used there life savings trying to get even more diagnoises on my diseases to see what else was wrong . I'm on medacaid and pharmacys not taking my insurance. Ppl r dying everyday over the disease I have and so many have tak n there own life because they couldn't get the pain mag agent they needed. What if your child or family member or even yourself was going through this and u couldn't get help for them and had to watch them suffer 24/7 .i was 32 when I got sick I'm 43 now . I had dreams , I wanted children a family , to finish school . To live . That's been taking from me I have noth ng but suffering and wonder when it's my last day on earth . In bed 9 years not even able now to go to a dr hardly or even walk outside or bath . Please please help me help us ppl that need help . Don't make us suffer over others that abuse pain meds . Thank u , God bless u all .
