First I'd like 2 say it is WRONG WRONG WRONG . Not helping us that are severely living in chronic pain and living with a deadly disease as I am and other uncurable diseases.. I got sick at 32 years old while I was working as a temp at the state workers compensation office and going to school .. I was diagnosed with chromic myofasical pain syndrome that was so severe and no cure that the dr told me I'd be crippled in 2-3 years. I didn't no what to think and how hurtful it was. Then I got Chronic fatigue immune deficiency and myalgic encephalomyoltis which is worse than MS, AIDS, and CANCER COMBINED. It is deadly it affects every single thing in your entire body till it kills u . I've lived in bed for over 9 years and been on SSI . I have also RA, Degenerative disk disease, aneuopathy, Osteoarthritis, IBS, Cervical neuritis, land lumbar neuritis spondylitis, my heart is enlarged due to my disease, ligt stroke , vascular disease, u name it I got it . I've suffered severely in pain , I go months without bathing , my mommy took care of me and I found her dead in sept on the couch . I'm not no addict never was m dying and can't get the help I need for my pain. I have 2 pay cash for me meds because of the laws of pharmacys not getting enough meds to help ppl. THIS IS WRONG WRONG and in human ine the way ppl that r truly suffering that can't get help . Why can't u check ppl medical history since u can do everything else and see who really needs pain management and the ones who don't . JUST BECAUSE OTHERS R ADDICTS AND OVERDOSING DOESNT MEAN THAT WE SHOULD SUFFER BECAUSE OF THEM . Everyone is not a addict in this country . I'm suffering so bad I can't take it no more. I'm dying I'm dying from my disease . Ppl choose there path to becom addicted and live like that that's not our fault .. Please help the ones that r suffering and dying !!! Pkease.. I have medical records from east west both and south from drs that my parents went broke and used there life savings trying to get even more diagnoises on my diseases to see what else was wrong . I'm on medacaid and pharmacys not taking my insurance. Ppl r dying everyday over the disease I have and so many have tak n there own life because they couldn't get the pain mag agent they needed. What if your child or family member or even yourself was going through this and u couldn't get help for them and had to watch them suffer 24/7 .i was 32 when I got sick I'm 43 now . I had dreams , I wanted children a family , to finish school . To live . That's been taking from me I have noth ng but suffering and wonder when it's my last day on earth . In bed 9 years not even able now to go to a dr hardly or even walk outside or bath . Please please help me help us ppl that need help . Don't make us suffer over others that abuse pain meds . Thank u , God bless u all . -

People that use these drugs responsibly for conditions that would otherwise keep them from getting out of bed because of extreme pain should not be mad to suffer because of those that use them irresponsibly.REPORT COMMENTS

I AM NOT A JUNKIE, I AM A HUMAN BEING IN CRONIC PAIN. I'VE HAD 2 SURGERIES AND HAVE METAL SCREWS AND BARS IN MY BACK. MY DOCTOR TOLD ME TO GO ON DISABILITY AND SHE IS NOT GIVING ME ANYTHING. I AM SO SCARED FOR MY FELLOW CRONIC PAIN PATIENTS AS I FEAR MANY WILL CHOOSE DEATH THEN LIVING LIKE THIS. THE DEA IS NOT A DOCTOR! I HAVE LOST MY FAITH IN THIS COUNTRY. I PRAY THAT THE DOCTORS OUT THERE STAND UP AND MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD FOR THEIR PATIENTS. WHY THEY ARE LETTING THE GOVERNMENT DO THIS TO US IS VERY UNSETTLING.REPORT COMMENTS

Thank God I do not have to take any prescriptions, but having family members that are severely disabled that do and friends, I fear that this law is going to result in a large amount of suicides of people who are being forced to live in pain with no support. They have been disgraced thrown in a pool from good law honoring citizens to be treated like criminal drug addicts. The DEA says it is to stop overdoses of people getting into patients medicine cabinets, how does the DEA have any control over that by any law of someone stealing out of grandmas medicine cabinet. The pharmacies are saying it will add wait times and cost to the patients and the DEA says this will stop the illegal sales on the streets and black market when these sales are not even obtained through legitimate means, in reality odds are there will be an increase of illegal sales on the streets turning the patients to any means necessary to get the medication they need and created a huge surge in growth of illegal sales making an entire new drug trade market and where there is a demand, the dealers will provide a supply and make lots of money. The drug dealers and cartels from other countries and probably celebrating the DEA making this law, because the DEA just created a new market bigger than any illegal drug on the streets. Drug laws video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WMGsOVfQMQ See this very good video from an actual doctor on this new law: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BR__-N54Ck Patients need to start contacting every elected official, every news network, signing petitions, and if this is anything to with Obama Care, then this alone is cause to repeal the entire bill. Our leaders signed Obama Care without even reading it. If you did this in your job, then you would be fired, but it shows our leaders have forgotten who they work for and that they are not above the law, this is America not a Communist Country or is that where America is heading where the people have no voice, no power, no rights, and the Constitution has no meaning and the people are ordered to bow in silence in full control of the politicians that write most bills that are pushed by lobbyist and super pack special interest groups who give them millions of dollars to force legislations upon the people. The Obama Care Bill we were told spoke of death panels, is taking away the ability to needed medications and the power of trained Doctor away the beginning of this? The Government did not fix a problem with this new law, they created a much larger problem. As the late great President Ronald Reagan said, "Government is not the solution, it is the problems" and what we have seen since the last Great President Ronald Reagan's departure from office is an out of control scary Government that just like the book 1984 of a Government that fully controls everyone is becoming a reality. I truly fear where our nation is heading for many of the same actions Hitler did when first gaining power are following out oREPORT COMMENTS

agree with 100% of this petition. I have yet to have my pain controlled after falling sustaining burst fracture L1. 3 back surgeries, torn shoulder repair, Sjogrens, ... No pain clinic would take me after my physician released me. He called 5 area pain clinics who ALL said do not take patients who need chronic pain medication! I was accepted after a lot of work but they have me down to 6 Norco a day which leaves me with no life.REPORT COMMENTS

I think the way doctors treat people who are in chronic pain are wrong. We deserve respect just like any other patient that walks through them doors. We need pain meds. in order to some what live our lives and some how try to have a life. Making us feeling like we are junkies is not the answer. These people should walk in our shoes for a week I can assure you there would be no question of the pain that we go through.REPORT COMMENTS

My wife has M.S. and needs this medication that she has been on for over 20 years and now she is left to suffer even further thanks to the Government and this law actually cost us more money and time to get the same prescription with the money actually going to the state in a state script fee. No matter what their will be people that abuse anything, but the law abiding citizen is the one penalized. See they restrict this medication because it is generic meaning the drug companies don't have a patent which goes back to a low profit margin, it is not about protecting anyone, it is all about making more money at the cost of the victim who is the patient. What about our injured veterans, our seniors, our cancer patients, our chronic pain suffers? Those are the people who pay the price and the reason no one trusts their political leaders. Instead of protecting our borders and stopping the illegal drug trafficking, they reward the actual law breakers who cross our borders that openly carry drugs into this country and target the law abiding American Citizen.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been a responsible patient of having to use prescription pain medication for the past 10 years after a serious spinal cord injury from being hit by a car where I have metal plates in my neck, herniated disk in back, permanent nerve damage, arthritis, and live in pain daily. I have had several surgeries from this car wreck and the medication to my body is the same a Tylenol, it only dulls the pain a bit allowing me to function in having some kind of a life. The Government has no business issuing this law, where now it cost me $60-$150 per month more including a state fee just to get the same medication refilled that I have to go to the doctor each month now because they are not allowed to issue refills through the pharmacy. So this is really a money making scheme for more revenue for the state and government at the cost of the patient. A study found that only 1% of the population abuses this mediation, that were also found to abuse over the counter medications, as well as alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, inhalants and the abusers will get their high regardless. What this has created is the same thing that prohibition did which is creating a "black market" that will make criminals wealthy, it will increase the suicide rate of patients who can't take living in daily pain with no pain management, and this is just the start of Obama Care making the cost to the patient so expensive on his way to financially break America. It is true, control ones health and you control the person. I say what about the poor cancer patients and terminally ill who now because of politician crooks in the pockets of insurance companies that are intentionally making people suffer in daily pain. See they ban and restrict medications that help people, yet support and promote tobacco being grown and sold in every store in America that kills people, it is all about the money like the big tobacco lobby lining their pockets.REPORT COMMENTS

I have had severe pain from degenerative disc , and stenosis in all levels, also fused at 7 cervical levels, and permanent Nerve damage. I developed RSD/CRPS at the time of the cervical fusion surgery I have an pain pump in my abdomen and I take opioids and gabapentin on a daily basis just to get through my day.. I can not, will not have the government tell me what my body needs to live semi pain free. I have had the same doctor for my pain managing since this all started 7yrs ago and he keeps telling me how things are getting harder for him to do his job. The Doctors need to be able to help us. Placing coached nurse practitioners instead of real doctors is a degradation of healthcare in this country. It also allows people who don't understand medicine to dictate less than appropriate diagnoses and care, especially for pain management. Labeling patients is discrimination and providing replacement medical care through nurse practitioners instead of medical doctors is a mistake in healthcare causing great suffering for patients who need expert quality medical care.REPORT COMMENTS

I am an unwilling "victim" of the D.E.A. and the Governments violation of my right to be, if not pain free, at least in less pain. WHEN did our Government get it's medical degree? Funny, but I don't recall seeing one of them with MY physician at MY appointments, and looking at my charts, my X-Rays. HOW, tell me PLEASE, they can generalize and categorize EACH and EVERY person that is prescribed pain medication? I DO have chronic pain, 24/7 365. Yes, some days (thank God) are not as bad as others, but it's ALWAYS there. I'm not going to go into what caused it, and what I go through every day, simply because it would take me too long to go into. Suffice to say, I've got it. Would I prefer to NOT take medication? Of course. But I have to to be able to function. Not because I am "dependent" or "addicted" to them, it's so I can stand up, walk, sit, eat. Not be any more depressed than I already am, and BELIEVE THIS, living with actual, physical, chronic pain IS VERY,VERY, DEPRESSING!REPORT COMMENTS
