I am in severe pain daily for 7 months while all doctors ive seen in my well documented case and well proven and legitimate, the doctors will not prescribe the only meds that will releive me from my suffering in the name of the federal governments war on pain medication prescribing by doctors. It is wrong.

It's really something how so many drs are now taught to red flag patients that say things like they can't take NSAIDS~WHAT A JOKE! With such a huge population of our country getting older (& many therefore getting sicker and experinging pain), a great deal are also now taking blood thinners. Mixing blood thinners with NSAIDs is a big no-no~unless the dr just wants to kill the patient. I think these people at the DEA,etc. need to experience a month or 12 (yes, twelve) of some debelitating, chronic, never ending pain, be treated like a common criminal in front of friends and neighbors, be humiliated by a few pharmacists (that they've been using for the past 20 yrs but that's now the policy of that chain) & then talk about making changes. They way things are now though, well, they haven't got a clue!

I have been humiliated, sent into withdrawls, and suffered undue pain after major surgery by a pharmicist at my local Quick Chek in NJ. I have chronic pain and severe injuries following a horrific car accident 8 years ago and what the pharmacists put me through should be against the law. They should not, not do they deserve, to be in the profession they're in.

I was nominated by a professor at Auburn University of Montgomery. However at that time I had been struggling at home with my family life and some health issues that I could not afford to deal with at the time the pain was moderate and I found ways to cope. I swam a lot, and I loved dancing....I was a perfect 135 lb and I was happy and able to work and go to school. This was back in 2012. I want so bad to complete my degree. Sadly, I had to medically withdraw in 2013, that's really when I started having issues with pain in my joints, lower back and hips. Today I weight 200lbs and all thanks to nonnarcotic pain meds. I've been on neurologic pain meds plus I take 1000mg of Tylenol every 6 hours on top of prescription NSAIDS. NONE OF THESE MEDS ARE WORKING!! THANKS DEA and Congress for forcing my doctor to breach her duty of care. Now she has decided that I am not a candidate for narcotic pain meds due to my age. She told me that her office does not prescribe narcotics to anyone under the age of 30. Because it is my age group that the DEA is coming down on...d9 yo

I feel the same way and I actually went 4 years trying different medicines and anti inflammatory medicines and had a ton of bad reactions, and now I find out because I'm allergic to aspirin and anti inflammatory medicines it's labeling me as an addict even though I have documented proof of my condition and I'm an epileptic and the pain keeps me up and the stress and fatigue cause me to suffer more and more seizures my Dr still won't help me.

I am an Honorably discharged US Army Vet. My father was one of the first 500 on the beach in Normandy in WWII. My point is, we want all of our lives back we spent serving our great country. Because today I severe suffer from cronic pain bacause I am permanently disabled in such can not get proper pain medications that is needed for my spinal cord injuries. The FEA should be disolved because of there constant illegal intimidation on Drs in our country. Drs should be able to practice medicine freely. If I had the money to leave America I would. Thousands like me over 55 who are disabled are dying of heart attacks because of being severely under prescribed pain medication because of the DEA s negative influence on Drs. Gods will deal with this in his way, I pray he does so soon. He needs all people to start standing up in our country for whats right, Take care all

My mother's pain was so severe, she couldn't get out of bed. She couldn't even eat. Her doctor refused to help but I found a pain management doctor who saved her life by putting her on extremely strong pain meds. She flourished for 10 years. Then I moved her to another state, everything was fine for the first 3 years but on year 4, the insurance company pressured her doctor to cut her very expensive pain meds. My mother deteriorated. She screamed every time we touched her. She couldn't eat, just like before. Eventually she died, from what they called "failure to thrive." She was thriving fine until they murdered her.

I was treated horribly for close to a year until I was diagnosed with cervical and cranial dystonia with blepharospasm in my eyes and Oromandibular in my jaws and laryngeal dystonia in my throat. Suddenly once I had official diagnosis they finally started treating my pain. Unfortunately, many people have chronic pain and do not receive the medication they need. One Dr at the ER said that I appeared to be drug seeking cause I had been to different Dr's trying to get help. I told him if you had a knife stuck in your back and a Dr refused to remove it, wouldn't you go to a different Dr. ?

I suffer everyday from back pain that makes keeping a full time man's job it holds me back in everyday activities and doctors won't even prescribe me simple effective medication such as Ultram and Norco both realitivly harmless when used properly. I am told "I am sorry I cannot prescribe narcotic pain relievers I can lose my license to practice medicine." I hate what life's become I have to seek relief from those who can trick doctors and are willing to break the law to help me. I rarely take more than 1500mg of hydrocodone or 250mg of tramadol in any given day and that's all it takes to help. Most days I will take none. Someone has to do something.

The number of people I know who suffer, due to the inability to get medications they need, has steadily risen. It is disgusting to me to see people in need treated lesser than simply because they are in pain! I could not even imagine what it must feel like. I can only empathize and try to help remedy this atrocity in whatever way that I can. I really do hope the government listens and works to solve this issue. I am seeing people I love die because they can't take the pain anymore! This is not right. What ever happened to a government FOR the people?

The DEA should let the professionals who have studied pain management for a vocation to do their job and it is really not the DEA's place to make a judgement either way. This is another gross example of the government trying to control our constitutional rights and civil liberties based on the fourth amendment. It is truly insulting that the government is gutting the constitution based on bias rather then the facts about those of us who are living daily with chronic pain. Do they really think we want to give up our careers, quality of life, and income to go on disability and medication?! I was injured due to no fault of mine and now have to live with pain every day and now the DEA is taking liberties with my civil rights and trying to prevent me and millions of others in the same situation from getting a least some sort of relief from the pain so we can have some sort of life besides laying in bed all day suffering or turning to illegal drugs not regulated by a doctor. NO THANK YOU, DEA, I don't need your help!!!!!!! Jennifer Smith, former professional chef (a very successful, and well paid one before my injuries )

I moved from Fl to Greenville, SC and can't find a dr to write my scripts. The Drs don't care that my heart could stop and possibly die from withdrawal of my medications I've been taking for years. The dr said he will get in trouble with the DEA. So now I'm stuck, I have Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disk Disease, Herniated Disk, Fibromyalgia, Lumbar-sacral pain and I've been taking Dilaudid and Duragesic patches to cope with my pain and try to live a normal life. I am on disability because of my pain. I don't understand how I'm suppose to live with this ongoing pain with no medication. The dr I saw at Spine and Pain Care in Greenville, SC on Woodruff Rd. did not care of the withdrawals I will have tomorrow. He couldn't care less, Drs took an oath to help their patients and he didn't give a damn about me or if I died. He treated me like a druggie when I've never had a problem in the 10 yrs I've been taking my medication.

I am a disabled 55 year old woman with arthritis, SLE, Fibromyalgia and diabetes. I am tired of being treated like a back door drug addict! I have been on 10mg Oxycodone 4 X daily for over 10 years. I have NEVER lost my pills, had my pills stolen, flushed them, my dog has never gotten into them....I take them exactly as prescribed. But recently, I have not been getting the pain relief they once gave me. 6 hours between doses is too long and I have a lot of break-through pain. I am petrified of asking my doctor for a stronger dose. She already told me that 10mg is her limit....no higher. I am seriously contemplating suicide just to rid myself of the daily agony I have to endure because my doctor is afraid of the DEA.

I have a very painful back and the Drs keep reducing my medications on a regular basis. I have to go see the dr. Every two weeks just to get my pain medications. They have lowered them so much that I can barely do things anymore. My husband and I argue so much about my pain it is so bad. Every time I go to the dr I have a co pay of 70.00 on top of paying 1200.00 a month for insurance. Everybody is not the same and pain is not the same in everyone. I can't even take extras when I have more pain on some days then others. I am so afraid of saying anything to my dr. Due to he has all the control, but what he forgets is i have all the pain. I do not seek out other Drs. Because I do not want to be labeled as an addict anymore then I feel like I'm being labeled already by the FDA. I just want to be able to do my normal activities without being in pain. I am so lost and I have now developed anxiety due to the lowering of my medications not to mention having to go every two weeks to get them. When is this nightmare going to end? When I am dead? My pain is real and so am I and I just want to be treated with a little bit of dignity and not treated like a commen criminal.

Training how not to treat pain patients this is horrid this is 2016 not the Stone ages these Doctors are supposed to be educated to not give pain medication to anyone that think they have some pain the Miami news papers the last page advertising pain medication for many years I'm from Chicago when I was there I was just shocked how Doctors there were begged for people to come for medication these people were not cronic, I have failed back surgery I can't walk if I don't have it i have proof of surgery and MRI Don't take my medicine away ! These people didn't use proof they needed it ! Do not make people kill them self because they need there pain medication and it's not addictive your body needs more because it stops working stops I happened to me I felt like dieing would be easier ya i did I'm sure this happens to cronic pain patients ! What would be better is medical marijuana you can't over dose and it helps all area's of your mind and body think about that less medication if people could have medical marijuana this is important for people to have look your life will change if you're hit be a drunk driver it could be anything could happen and your life has changed just think of the ice skater last week got hurt playing hockey young and can't move his body I'm sure he needs pain medication I'm sure he has proof of it ! Doctors need to stop giving it to anyone Doctors from other countries are doing it while you were doing something else !!! It's really all about money and getting it you no that $$$$$

There is an enormous community of people with chronic illnesses, who live in high-level pain, who are grossly under-treated and under-medicated. The fact that the government and now insurance companies are "playing doctor," without listening to the real patient and pain doctors, have to be organized by legislation in what area they are to have a say in which patient takes what medicine and how much. In other words, give back the power to the doctor and the patient and stop telling us rhetoric about how we should feel, ridiculous claims that we are addicts and that YOU think you can take away our right to be treated fairly, like any other medical patient!
