This has really taken what activities I could do away, I have migraines that keep me in a dark room miss my sons sports or even getting out and living, I was jumped in 2004 and suffered blunt force trauma to the head and haven't been the same since I also have coronary artery spasms and the daily pain is unbearable my Dr lost his license for treating pain last July and I haven't turned to street drugs or went to another Dr I have ptsd from years of abuse I was supposed to have a biopsy in August they found Pre cancerous cells and I can't bring myself to have it done where I stay so scared and nervous because I haven't had my meds in almost a year now and my family is hurting due to me not being able to do anything I can't even get out to stores with my heart within a few minutes I'm in tears and so weak this has been a nightmare, the dea are not drs and really need to stop acting like they are it's funny Dr's can't treat me yet drugs are everywhere on the street and the drs from the board of medicine doesn't want people treated for pain but will dope people up like zombies with mental drugs I'm seriously considering moving somewhere where I can get the treatment I need because I live in that I won't live much longer the way it is now

I have had MS for almost 14 years. I take medications for horrible nerve pain. I don't always need the pain pills but it is a good option of I need them. Why would you make it harder for my physicians to treat me? Don't you realize having this painful disease is already bad enough? You aren't making it harder for people who illegally obtain the drugs. You're making it harder for people like me, who live within the law and don't seek out pain meds illegally.

Allow Doctors to treat patients as they set fit without fear of reprisal from any governing agency. Why go backwards with pain management? There is no reason that patients, like me, should live with chronic pain in this day and age. Reducing the availability of pain medication because of the misuse, is not the answer and is a knee jerk reaction. This won't change anything, except to deny millions of people quality of life, the chance of pain free life.

I live with daily chronic pain due to Multiple Sclerosis. The daily nerve and muscle pain is awful and they can barely help with the drugs that are available now. Making it harder to get these medications doesn't make it harder on the junkies it makes it harder on those just trying to live their life as normal as they possibly can. This is an injustice to those of us who are doing things the right way. I personally hate that I have to take these medications but I'm left with no other options that work.

I'm almost 78 years old and rarely need more than an aspiri. As I look forward to my "declining years" I don't want to envision an ocean of arthritis pain. It is comforting to know my doctor will be able to help me avoid suffering.

I have multiple sclerosis for going on 13 years. And I have chronic pain for 8 of those years. Pain medication is only thing that helps keep my pain in check. Some days I need it and some days I Dont. Doctors are here to help us live a normal life. And the patients who abuse the medication are the ones who need to be on something else. not us ! Msers have physical pain and well as nerve pain. We shouldn't be punished for the others who probably shouldn't have been put on pain meds anyway. Living with pain is the hardest thing to do. Especially when you a disabled stay at home mom like me ... How would I be able to take care of my family ??!! Please put into consideration how many lives this will impact in a negative way.

Please let our Dr.s treat us as a whole! As a human! People can not live with pain everyday.. Please let us have some kind of quality of life! Not everyone is a junkie or a pill seeker.. We are already screened drug tests, pill counts, having to go monthly! What more do you wAnt from the Drs and us! I never had a choice to be sick at 38, or have to leave my career. Or to crawl down my steps in the morning in pain to get my kids ready for preschool. My pain med gives me alittle quality of life to be able to play with my kids while I can. You take pain meds away? Who is to say we're I will be? Morally and erhiically no one should be denied please help us! The ones that need our meds to function with what ever it is we have. 🙏🏻

I have Chronic pain all day everyday,(Crohn's Disease, DDD, Fibromyalgia, Polyarthritis to name a few)!! I go to my Dr's and LEGALLY obtain prescription for my pain meds! Why does the government always try to punish law abiding citizens for the crimes of those citizens who break the law? It is not the governments place to come between a Dr and a those they treat! I have had the same Dr's for years, they know ALL of my medical issues! I deserve to be able to live a quality life, we all do! It is not up to the government to decide who needs pain meds or not!! That is the Dr's decision!! I have recently tried to find a Pain Management Dr and cannot find one!! They are all closing their Offices due to the fact that they cannot adequately treat people!!! This needs to stop!!

It's not the government's place to tell people that their pain is not important enough to provide adequate medication.

I have been in the construction field for 36 years, I started having back issues in 2000, My MRI scan in 2005 showed severe degenerative disc from l-2/3 down tol-5/1, After living on too many nsaid for years my Dr prescribed duregesic and hydrocodone while I struggled with insurance co. to approve disc replacement (to no avail) I have remained active on the pain meds and still employed as construction mgr. Now the fed gets involved and believes they know more than my good physician.... If the media thinks ptsd is bad just wait until this wave hits the good people working hard and paying taxes. Suicide rates will go through the roof, illegal drug use will sky rocket. Chronic pain is real and very devastating, When you cant escape it even briefly via pain meds what is left.. Drug addicts are and will be drug addicts. Stop treating me as one. Insurance is a scam and the decay of our good society. The FDA and all other fed agencies are the same. They just don't care about the hand that feeds them

All pain is different and if a person has never suffered from chronic pain, many of which are pharmacists and members of the DEA, you could not possibly understand. Unfortunately suicide is often the alternative used by those who can not get their medications because of the DEA....and those that misused the oxy meds are now the reason there is a growing heroin epidemic. Addicts will always find a way. The only people suffering are those of us that are in REAL PAIN!!!

It KEEPS people like me from committing suicide!!! WHY ARE WE LETTING THEM DO THIS TO US??????? ARE THEY TRYING TO KILL US???? WHY ARE THEY PUNISHING THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THESE PAIN MEDS BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO DON'T NEED THEM ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE OVERDOSING ON IT????? THIS IS PURE MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are we all going to be buying heroin in camden nj??????????

My fiancƩ has fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and degenerative disc disease which has caused him to have two back surgeries. Without pain medication, he is literally unable to function at all. He has had to find a new primary physician twice in the past 4 years due to having to move for employment purposes, and it is getting increasingly difficult to find a doctor who will even accept a pain management case due to the government's incessant interference in patient care.

The DEA has gone mad making truly ill people spend hours and sometimes days searching for their medications, as if they weren't suffering enough as is. I traveled all day searching for a place to fill my father's prescription after they removed a whole bone from his leg and a large flap of muscle and skin to rebuild his jaw and face to cure his oral cancer, Leaving him in that pain was a cruelty beyond belief. Please stop this madness.

Congress is doing NOTHING to protect chronic pain patients. The new CDC guidelines are utterly absurd; they take a blanket approach to a very complex subject. The vast majority of chronic pain patients use opioids responsibly and as directed and suffer NO adverse effects. Punishing the majority for the failings of the minority is unjust and unacceptable. The next time you go in for surgery and only get a two-day supply of hydrocodone, remember that the CDC and cowardly doctors are responsible for your pain and the pain of your loved ones when they need help.
