This is down right inhuman, the war on drugs has been a complete failure and a waste of money , the black market is probably setting up shop as we speak , and shifting gears to the war on doctors and patients who follow the rules ! Antidepressants are no better in fact the 20 or more side effects listed , makes me wonder why they would be approved at all ! My mother had a host of problems stemming from thyroid cancer which led to late diabetes , to cushions diese , lupus etc ...in return they had her on 10 different non opioids pills that did nothing for her , she died from complications of the Medcine she was on , did not die from here disease - no communications from any of her doctors , her number one killer was long term use of steroids she should of never been on - she couldn't control her diabetes ??? Addiction is a concern I agree , and a illnes that needs to be addressed but not at the expensive of people who need them on a legiment basis - this is beyond pain control here your talking about people losing there jobs , and this also effects their family who will take care of them ??? Do they want us to die and go away ? With no other plan in place ? What about what we think as a patient ? Our rights are being taking away from us ! This is wrong on so many levels here ! -

After 8yrs of receiving help from my Dr. I have now been told "I don't prescribe" those types of medication" referring to 4 norco a day for my constant pain. 4 was helping enough to get me out of bed. Now what am I to do? I signed my contract I provided testing when asked. I have been kicked to the curb for no reason by my Dr. How does the DEA take such control? Why would our government treat me as a criminal through my Dr. I'm not s criminal. My pain is all too real. I'm a 100% disabled veteran, and receiving no pain help from the VA nor my Civillian Dr. Where does this leave me? How long before my breaking point of pain? Not long. I assure. I fought for my country, now my country has turned its back on me. Why? Please let Dr's treat patients without fear. The DEA is pushing us to the streets. With a stroke of a pen the DEA has decided my fate. My life is no longer in my own hands. It's in theirs, only if they had empathy.REPORT COMMENTS

The DEA and government needs to stop making rules that hurt honest people. Walk one day in the shoes of a chronic pain sufferer and you will understand. Until you do understand stay out of our business.REPORT COMMENTS

I would venture to say that many of our veteran's and pain patients such as myself who live with daily severe pain will chose to not go on with their lives. For true pain patients who do not abuse medication, there is no "high". There may be enough relief to eat a meal, sleep through the night, participate in life. Remember, the heroin epidemic exploded AFTER the was on opiods began 3-4 yrs ago. How many desperate people will become true drug addicts just trying to live through their day and participate in life.REPORT COMMENTS

I suffer from horrible pain. I'm not an addictive person. I'm honest and open with my doctors. Why do I have to suffer because there are people abusing prescription drugs. If I don't have a history of that, even legally or illegally, why do I have to pay the price of dishonest people. Please help me with my pain so I can enjoy life again. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

I live in chronic pain 24/7 thanks to debilitating Multiple Sclerosis, several herniated disks and severe stenosis that only major back and neck surgery can "maybe" fix. I don't abuse my medications and nor do scores of millions of other patients that take pain medicine. Don't take away or make it harder for doctors to help patients with their pain because of a small percentile of those that do abuse their meds and become addicted. Don't punish me for someone else's misgivings.REPORT COMMENTS

I have a spouse with chronic pain from multiple sclerosis, and it is difficult for people with disabilities to get to the doctor let alone keep up with filling their medications. This puts more stress on those who already have hardship.REPORT COMMENTS

I have MS and get debilitating pain at times and I don't want to be treated like an addict because you don't have it or don't understand it. Stop this madness. We are in pain and who are you to tell us to deal with it. You can only deal with constant pain for so long...then there is only one way out. ☹️REPORT COMMENTS

Have you also taken into account that doctors also prescribe steroids and antseizure drugs along with pain medicine to justify the pain medication? All the other drugs used to justify the pain medication have possible side effects of death. This is a hate crime. You need to legalize Cannibis and not make people jump through hoops to get it . Steroids alone affect the heart and it's function and makes sugar levels go out the box . Bad medicine bad politics.REPORT COMMENTS

I have Dystonia, psoriatic arthritis, degenerative joint disease, frayed labrum, herniated discs, spondylitis, plantar fasciitis, bunions, bone spurs, osteoporosis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and more. I am in severe, chronic pain for conditions that either can't be cured, I can't tolerate the cure or standard treatments, or I can't afford the treatments. I am bedridden about 75% of the time but have not asked for the stronger pain meds that I NEED to live a more normal life. But now, my doctor is cutting my pain meds, possibly weaning me off of them completely. I barely have a life now. Because of your erroneous assumptions about prescription meds, I am being tortured and punished for something I did not do. I would love to meet with someone and explain why this attack on the chronically ill is wrong and will ultimately make matters worse. Please contact me to set up an appointment.REPORT COMMENTS
