You ppl at the dea are cold heartless soulless human beings who I hope one day karma catches up with or when the time comes u suffer everything you've done to us in hell. Sorry but that's just how I feel after the pain you put me through and stole every single part of my life I ever had, u even stole things u couldn't imagine and made me a prisoner in my own home crying in bed 247/365 wanting to die and I hate you all. I'm sure there's some rare good ones in ur bunch but for the most part most of u deserve horrible karma and an afterlife of eternal suffering as u have done to my life.Mar 25th, 2016Someone from Durham, NC signed.

I Am Suffering & Suffering!!! And, Not Just Myself, But My Family, My Pet's and Everything Within, Around, And Of That. It Is So Sad When You Have To Actually Fear Going To A Doctor, When, The Little Bit Of Life You Have Is From Medication. Something That You Really Don't Want To Take, But You Have To, Because You've Already Had Therapy, Multiple Surgeries, Screws Put In Your Back, Taken Back Out, Gone Through Treatment After Treatment..Some That Don't Help at All, Some That Makes Things Worse. And, The Ones That Do Give You Some Relief Don't Last For Long. Your Spine is Crooked & Degenerating. Disks Are Pertruding, Muscles Have Atrophied, Too Much Scaring In Your Back, Have Spasms So Bad The Outside Of Your Back Bruises From The Inside Out. Imagine Being in Labor 24 Hr's A Day and There Is No Baby To Hold Afterwards...Just A Pillow You Are Crying in, So Your Family Don't Hear You. I Could Go On And On About The Types Of Pain I Have, The Relief I Do Get From My Medications, What I Can And Cannot Do From That Relief, But It Doesn't Matter, Because My Medication Has Been Cut Again. I Am So, So Tired, And Don't Know How Much Longer I Can Fight This Horrible War Inside Myself. Even in War, As Far Back In All Of Time..Soldiers Have Always Been Armed In Some Way To Help Them Fight, But Because Of People Who Abuse And Take For Granted The Very Thing I Need To Help With My Battle, Is Now Taken From Me. And,My Family, My Pets, And Myself Have To Pay For It. Please, For The Sake Of EVERYONE, Right This Wrong.REPORT COMMENTS

Huntington Texas....The last pain doctor that pulled that crap with me , i hand delivered a letter to his office. The last line of it says " You have to be the lowest form of life on this earth to do this to someone". He never entered it into my med record to this day. And i felt and still feel good about calling evil evil. Some how some way, they seem to sleep well. But be assured they will get hell or worse in the end. Does not help us now though. Dont give up. Something will break soon or later. And hope is just all i have at this time.REPORT COMMENTS

Kaiser and Doctors over reacting and the DEA should be our target! Doctors are now required to treat via computer not use their own training and experience . If you are the "Norm" you are fine for now, if not, your life is in serious danger and I don't mean to be so blunt. Doctors are now Cops, Clergy, Judge and Mom and Dad. They tell you what you can do and not do as a condition of receiving Required Medications. They can "Doctor" your medical file with lies and you may never know...They refuse to change it if you do find out. Your future care depends on accurate information. People with real pain that is unable to be corrected deserve to be pain free. The DEA should focus on the Bad Doctors, the ones writing hundreds of prescriptions, like was done for Elvis, 600 pills written for him on the day he died...Michael Jackson, look at all the prescriptions he had. With the Federal system using Social Security and Birth Dates, the honest people should be able to get proper pain medication without being caught up in the abuse search.......We are not criminals...we just figured this out about those in jail for POT! What are we going to do, fill the jails again? Force people to use Heroin ? Seriously?REPORT COMMENTS

I have degeneration of discs, annular tears and was born with one leg shorter than the other. I have heart disease, arrhythmia, have had esophageal surgery and I have facet disease, spinal stenosis and the list goes on. I was robbed on vacation. We contacted the police. My spouse inadvertently tossed all meds in container. I inadvertently took norco that was 2 yrs old. I was canceled immediately, left with no medication. I have been in bed for 8 days now. My doctors deem it fit to cancel me when I am thousands of miles from home, to do nothing. I have not go through withdrawal because I am used to the meds. It is a saving grace for me. I will be reporting this practice in the proper manner. I was left without care and I have been suffering from horrific pain and heart problems, due to lack of meds. I am a human who can't take NSAIDS! Look at my history and tell me I can take corticosteroids, steroids, prednisone, meloxicam et al! I cannot. Believe me, I would much rather take than be held like a prisoner in my own home as I am now. ER is coming soon. I can't live like this. I am 51 yrs young, not 100! Give us the care and respect we deserve.REPORT COMMENTS

I've just had another personal physician, one of many, to suddenly drop me. It's always without warning and always leaves me in tears, afraid, and humiliated. I have a refractory bladder disease that causes such excruciating pain as to leave me gnawing my tongue in agony. I received an intrathecal pain pump with morphine, and it helps a lot, but breakthrough pain still requires oral pain meds, for which you must be seen, pay for the visit every month, and physically carry the prescription to the pharmacy to be filled. I'm willing to do this, although it is very expensive and causes my husband to lose work, but the doctors are all afraid to manage the pain for long. We must drive hours away to a pain clinic again, until and unless I find another local doctor to help me. My husband and I are so depressed and isolated, feeling as though we have done something wrong. I just have a painful disease. Why can't I ever have a doctor that I'm not afraid will stop seeing me? Why can't I be treated with dignity and compassion? I am a good person. I went to college, became a professional, got married, and had children. I had dreams like anyone. But I got sick. Why am I made to feel I've done something wrong? Why do I get the feeling the DEA, the government, the doctors, and the politicians would rather people like me who are suffering in pain just lay down and die already? Something has got to be done. Somebody has got to speak for us. Doesn't anyone really care?REPORT COMMENTS

Ive been suffering from chronic pain since childhood. They just now at 30yrs old figured out that its caused by Multiple Sclerosis. My muscles severely constantly burn from head to toe when I am doing simple tasks, like washing my hair, moving my eyes, chewing my food, sitting up and walking. I have a three year old son and I hardly ever get to play with him. My muscles just burn and the pain gets so bad I will drop to my knees or take an hour and a half just to wash my hair with some dignity. I have over seven years of medical records with no record of issues taking several different pain medications, but who you are and your history doesnt matter anymore. Physicians are so busy focused on refusing to treat your pain, that they are paying attention to nothing else. The way I have been spoken to and treated is inexcusable.REPORT COMMENTS

If you are studying to be a pain management doctor, you should be required to have a history of chronic pain, you must be be required to take at four classes on how to perform procedures on chronic pain patients, you must be required to take classes on how to talk to and treat patients with chronic pain, and you must be required to experience all new procedures for chronic pain. I am sick of doctors telling me "it doesn't hurt much, maybe a little sting". ********. Slicing me with a knife would have been less painful than sticking 4" needles into the 3 cm cyst in my knee and pumping in cortisone. After six needles the doctor's notes read: "over reaction to pain levels with six needles in cyst of knee on a weekly basis for almost four years." When asking this doctor to take out the cyst on the first visit (when it was the size of a quarter), he said, and I quote: "Honey, (laughing), I don't remove a damn thing unless it is life threatening or the size of a grapefruit. What are you going to do about that? Sue me?" He did not remove it, and four years later, his PA pulls me to the side saying "I can't watch this anymore. He's misdiagnosing you and I'm going to send you to another doctor immediately because this cyst is huge." I lived on a third floor apartment. At the same time I had a fallen arch in my left foot. The cyst is in my right knee. Both at the same time for four years of misdiagnosis and nothing but bills, bills, bills. Nothing changed, just got larger. When I was finally having to get around on crutches, for a year before my surgeries, they did my foot (metal plates and screws and can never move my toes again). Then the knee surgery two months later. My surgeon at Duke said it was 3.5 cm. and showed it to me. Unfortunately, I found out that he should have removed it when it was small. When I asked. Now the thing is wrapped around my popliteal artery, bones and I have sciatica in both legs now, my left butt cheek and my lower back. It is the worst pain I have ever had to live with and many mornings, I wish I had never woken up. They do not give me anything to take for it. I do not ask and I do not take it if offered because 12 years ago, I read some of a doctors notes where he wrote "drug seeking patient". This has screwed me up for the rest of my life. Now I live with chronic pain and my knee is still being drained, hurting, swollen, dimpling, larger than my left leg, tingling, feels like I'm walking on nails, the pain radiates from my ankle up to my buttocks in my lower back and now it's creeping up my back. I cannot bend to vacuum or clean my house or I'm bedridden for two days with severe pain. The leather on my couch is coming off from using heating pads from my waist down every single day. I have not been able to work for six years and I hurt from the waist down on a daily basis from the time I wake up, throughout the night, tossing and turning and no help. But because of what doctor's write in their notes which is merely "theiREPORT COMMENTS

I was born with Scoliosis and I have degenerative bone decease, herniated discs, bulging discs both in my back and neck. The problems with my neck are due to a car accident when I was 17 years and was made worse by a chiropractor and the steroid injections in my neck. I am not addicted to the pain meds that I have been on since June 5, 2007 mentally but my body has to have them or I literally can not get out of bed due to the severe back and neck pain. As of a year ago both of my knees bend completely backwards while I am walking. My PCP deemed me a fall risk. Now both of my thigh bones are slipping outwards and I can literally feel my hip bones sitting down in the center of my thigh bones and it causes the worst pain that I have ever experienced and that includes child birth. I went through years of physical therapy that only made my chronic pain worse. Even with the pain meds I still can not stand long enough to cook a meal, I can't use my vacuum and I can't take the long walks that I dearly love to take. I too have been called a drug addict because I receive pain medications and it is unfair. Never have I done the doctor shopping, misused my medications or tried to get them in any illegal way but I am treated as if I had. I've had four doctors tell me that I'd be crippled by the time I turned fifty. I'll be fifty two in a couple weeks. I've been disabled since 2002 because I worked 7 days a week 365 days a year to raise my 2 sons along side my husband. He too is disabled since 2005 and on pain medications. On March 2, 2016 he had to have his right lung removed due to stage 2 Squamous Cell lung cancer. Our pain management doctor cut his medications just 2 days after his hospital release because of the DEA threatening to close the doctor's practice down. We have never shared our medications even though we are on the exact same medicines only different doses. I watch my husband suffer from debilitating pain daily and all I can do is cry and pray that God will ease his pain. It is bad enough that I must watch my husband suffer from lung cancer but watching him suffer from the pain of having the entire right lung removed is nearly unbearable. The government needs to look at cases such as ours and see that our records have always been clean and we have never been short on our counts, never failed their drug tests and our blood work has always shown that our medication levels are where they should be. Why are we treated worse than criminals simply because we worked so hard in our younger years that we damaged our bodies? Is this what they call caring for our elderly and disabled? Even other countries treat their people better than this but the government can't see it, won't see it or just don't care now that my husband and I are receiving the Social Security that we paid in. Open your eyes everyone in the government, you too will get old and wonder how you will feel when you are like me. Never mind because people in the government have never done a hREPORT COMMENTS

As one if the many patients that suffer from chronic pain, myself cause by the conditions of Fibromyalgia and Lyme Disease, I find it completely insane that the potential right of the Doctor to become unable to continue the treatment of their patients as they see necessary. I have been on the same medications for years in order for me to be able to function as an adult, be able to work, to be able to get out of bed, to be able to be a part of society and active as an adult. I find it INSANE that the Doctor's right to treat each patient as he sees fit a unrealistic solution. The PROBLEM is ADDICTS that seek this drug to get high ILLEGALLY from drug dealers on the street. Tougher action should be focused on dealing with this issue, NOT targeting Doctors that have taken an oath to treat their patients in accordance to their conditions. I suffer from chronic pain as a result of Lyme Disease and Fibromyalgia and would not be able to function as an adult, to get out of bed, to go to work, to be able to participate as a member of society and be an adult able to pay my rent and bills. Ultimately, it is up to the DOCTOR not the GOVERNMENT to make this decision for the PATIENTS. It is obvious that chronic pain is being ignored as a condition and making the accusation that the prescriptions are being abused is inaccurate. I take my medications as PRESCRIBED not abusing them. Therefore, I sign this petition in protest that my doctor's right to prescribe as he see fit what he determines that I need in order to become the person that I am. Prior to this, I was bed ridden, having to cost the government for unemployment and disability. This is not the solution to revoke the Doctors right. I would have no life had it not been for my Doctor and what he determined that I needed to be prescribed in order to become the person that I am and an active member of society. Millions of people suffer from chronic pain and this fact is being ignored. Address the problem of the street addicts, not the patients.REPORT COMMENTS

I have used opioids for several years for a severe case of systemic osteoarthritis, which has resulted in a hip replacement and loss of much mobility as well constant severe pain. If the opioids were withdrawn for any reason, including the DEA regulations, I know that I would simply find a way to obtain them, one way or another. NSAIDS cause stomach pain. I've had three ulcers in my life and have chronic gastritis. I tried steroids, and wound up with an arrhythmia after about 6 days and was abruptly taken off them. I have been on one opioid prescription for eight years. They don't make me high. They relieve my pain but only to an extent. They make it possible for me to contribute as a member of our family, to work as a jewelry artist, and to go out. I would be housebound without them and am even now fairly limited. I don't comprehend the inflexibility and tone-deafness of those who thought up and passed these unworkable suggestions. Certainly something must be done about the addiction rate and death rate from improper used of these medicines. The problem won't be solved by increasing the death rate among pain patients when they obtain other substances to relieve their unbearable pain. Heroin, fentanyl, dilaudid, morphine: they are all on the streets for us to find, and we don't know how to use them. We can't really ask our doctors for directions, either! I demand that the DEA make their recommendations more inclusive so that the needs of pain patients are met. Remember that these medications were not made for addicts, and addicts should not running the show at the expense of the sick.REPORT COMMENTS
