The stigma that is attached to people who suffer sever chronic pain is a form of DISCRIMINATION, while discrimination is not tolerated in any other form in the US anymore, it's alive, well and shining bright on people who are prescribed RX opiates for severe chronic pain and those who have become dependent on opiates due to long term treatment of severe chronic pain. Since it's the junkies that misuse opiates to escape real life that contributes most to the stigma attached to ALL those with legitimate need of pain medication, why not just let the fools have as much as they want without hassle so they can kill themselves and be done with it. Any healthy adult can go to a liquor store and buy as much alcohol as they want and drink themselves to death but people with severe pain are made to preform like circus animals, peeing in cups and jumping through hoops to get some pain relief. I read of folks who have never needed an increase from 180mg of oxycodone per day. I thought I should do that and here it is 6 yrs later and 6 per day helps. The problem is, I am only prescribed 4 a day. Of course the longest I have kept a doctor is about one year before they catch on. From manufacturers of oxycodone I AM COMPLIANT! I take them the way they were made to take, every 4 hours. Why do doctors insist on prescribing them every six hours?REPORT COMMENTS

I just watched the last hour of drug task force thingy on c-span. " Opioid addiction " . I would have had trouble believing if i had not heard it with my own ears. Expert says those in prison and leaving prison will receive a hypo drug for overdose. There will be no label put on those that use this drug. She stated also that those who use this drug are not to be called addicts. " How do you overdose and not be an addict? Excluding those that have no IQ. Much sympathy for the addicts and abusers is clearly what i seen. Also said that herion and hydrocodone are nearly identical to one another. The autopsy's of those who abuse cant tell the difference between the two. Dont know, but thats not what i had been told to believe. I have never been treated with such discrimination and disrespect in all my life. There is no winning. Multiple DEBILITATING conditions is what I exist in such as: Complex regional pain syndrome, DDD, fibro, sciatica,radiculopathy, neuropathy, severe stenosis, three herniated discs, pancreatitis,cholecystitis, RSD, migraines, anxiety and depression. The anxiety and depression started when my LIFE SAVING meds were lowered to INEFFECTIVE doses that leave me in agony all day every day! Eight years I was on the SAME DOSE with success, nvr painfree, my pain was MANAGED! What is the point of going to pain mngmnt if these drs refuse to treat u with meds, meds that work! What you ppl in congress, the DEA, CDC and u Mr. President don't seem to grasp is the fact that many of legt pain pts try all alternative therapies before resorting to opiods. When nothing is working and meds are the answer why are you denying legitimate pain patients the right to a QUALITY OF LIFE! THIS IS INHUMANE! You are killing me! Every day a piece of me dies as the severe pain rips thru my body! Would you allow your dog to suffer in pain!? My girlfriend has degenerative disc and spine disease, spinal arthritis, osteoarthritis, scoliosis, and her spinal cord is pinched between bones in her back, I cant remember the name of that condition, but the point is, she lives in excruciating pain all the time. On top of all her existing conditions that make her hurt constantly, she recently wrecked her car when she lost control due to hydroplaning and received 2 compression fractures in her spine. Needless to say, she has NO QUALITY OF LIFE AT ALL WITHOUT THE USE OF OPIATES. Even WITH them she suffers, but WITHOUT them, she's screaming in pain. She lost her last pain clinic because someone called in to her doctor and lied that she was selling her meds, just because she wouldn't give them any of them. She hasn't been able to get into another clinic because of they all want referrals and records first that they can go through to see if they want to EVEN TAKE HER AS A PATIENT, and because of the false drug test report, no one would even take her if they saw her records first. So she has been using the internet to look up pain clinics and their numbers so she can call them and find out if they require a referral first. EVERY SINGLE ONE DOES that she has found so far, BUT ONE, so she made the appointment, and went 2 hours away to get there, filled out paper work for 2 hours in the lobby before they would even see her, she took their drug test, and then was FINALLY put into a examination room to see the doctor. The doctor came in the room and told her that they couldn't take her as a patient because of a misdemeanor drug charge from 14 years ago, and she hasn't been in trouble since. To beat all, the drugs weren't even hers, but her passenger threw some pot up under her car seat when they got pulled, and let her take the fall for it. The doctor actually had the nerve to tell her that "because of that charge, that she KNEW my girlfriend wouldn't take her prescriptions the way she was supposed to". If that isn't discrimination, I don't know what is!!!! How in the hell can a doctor turn away someone who desperately needs their help, because of something on their damn record???!!!???!!! That's like telling someone who has diabetes, "you got in trouble with the law 14 years ago, so I'm not going to treat your diabetes"!!!! What the hell??? Your damn criminal record should have NOTHING to do with whether or not a doctor will treat you or not!!!! It has NO PLACE in a doctors office!!!! That was the ONLY PLACE that she has found, that didn't have to have a referral and records first. Now, she is so depressed, that she is talking about suicide. I don't know what to do to help her, but what happened to her WAS WRONG!!! THAT IS WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL!!! AND IT HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH WHAT KIND OF PATIENT THEY WOULD BE!!!! The medication is used by our pain It doesn't give you a high, it takes the edge off the pain that you must live with for the rest of your life. Now, sick people,in pain, have to drive to their Drs. Office for 30 pills bc the dr. Is afraid to give more. Depending on where you live, that can be a long, drive. My drive is 35 minutes. What does the DEA want chronic patients to do? Obama is young and one day old age will catch up with him too. Why not just create a rule book on how to prescribe pain killers. Also have a group of doctors review medical records. If the doctors agree prescribe medicine if not offer a solution. A few years ago i was taking 1200mg of Motrin 3 times a day and Tylenol 4 tabs every six hours. My dr Dr. Tammy DuSevic of Roseville Michigan . has me drive to her office to pick up a letter saying she will no longer fill my Pain Pills . I'm thinking of killing my self rather be in pain!. To all my ''elected officials,'',,Prime example of what you're opiate phobia has done here in Wisconsin.Yesterday my girlfriend went to her doctor in Mauston,,She started bleeding a lot at 56 years of age,like she started her menstrual cycle again at 56 years of age,,,Well that's not right soo,,she goes to her Doctor,,,he starts his exam and does a biopsy w/out ANY Anasthia,, when she screamed in agony,,he told her,,imagen its like having children again,,again she ask for some medicine to help w/the physical pain of cutting into her uterus to take a piece of tissue for biopsy,,Again he said she did not need it,and he does not prescribe opiates,,''deal w/the pain mame,'''If I was there I would of said to him,,,here let me cut the end of your ***** off w/.no pain medicine to numb your physical pain,,,Your opiate phobia has brought us back to the 1800's,,,and finding out Brad Schimmel is thee Attorney General here in wisco,,and the real reason you r putting Pain Management under Department of health and human Services,,soo the Attorney General opiate phob Brad Schimel can shut them down,,is amounting to torturing your own citizens,,and again you are breaking every torture law written by the United Nations,,again,,Brad Schimel should be recused from any decision concerning opiate medicine for being toooo personally involved w/a family member choosing to become a drug addict..
