To the poster from Howell, NJ thank you so much for your deepest sympathies. I am so disgusted with our government that they can sit back and watch this kind of thing happen, I'm sure he's not the first one to take his life and he won't be the last. This is totally in humane!!! We are not a bunch of pill pushing junkies. Our pets get better medical care than we do now. THIS HAS TO STOP BEFORE MORE PAIN PATIENTS TAKE THEIR LIVES!!!!!! Don't you understand this Mr. so called President? Or do you even care?

The whole area I live around from primary, to neurosurgeon, and nurse practitioners that I saw and took care of my needs completely, and then they changed it all in Oct, where theybtooknther rights away unles a Dr.was on staff. Then the Dr. And clinics all became associated as one. Location, and none deal with pain management. They are going to have people. Start using illegals x drugs, and it is the Dr. Fault and the Goverment and states fault for implementing a monthly report ion pain med I cation they wrote. It has been impossible it has been impossible to help.. th I s is unfair. I called the mediaeval board assoc oily air poo n. They said it is wrong. For the Dr. To do this. For everyone to write in and report them.

I suffer from pain due to an injury that occurred during surgery. The doctor and nurses, lied and didn't remember anything unusual occuring during my surgery. I have had chronic pain in my back and shoulder for almost 9 years. I was an RN and Now I'm on disability making an amount that is impossible to live on. So please let my family doctor continue to write my Norco prescriptions. It is the only thing that has eased my pain and the only thing that allows me to function for several hours each day. I'm sorry people overdose. But like the NRA says..pain meds don't kill people, people kill people.

I want to thank the CDC & DEA for the death of my boyfriend because he killed his self yesterday. He was dumped by his doctor after the CDC & DEA started all this ******** and could not find another one because none of them wanted to take him on as a new patient. He could not deal with the horrible pain he had 24/7.

To whom it may concern . i have chronic back pain after 4 back surgeries and nerve damage including my l1/2/and 3 are also herniated along with arthritis. also have 2 herniated disks and bulging disks with bone spurs in my neck . I live with terrible pain everyday and I can't find a doctor that will treat me with pain medication . all they want to do is give me injections which I can't afford . I'm on social security and recieve $298.00 dollars a month. The only thing the dea is doing is making it impossible for people with pain issues to get some kind of relief and have a somewhat normal life . before you make these laws and come down on doctors you should talk to people with chronic pain and failed back surgeries. I cannot comprehend your way of thinking . thank you for making my life a living hell .

We should be able to at least be comfortable if we have a chronic condition. Being comfortable means keeping the nerves calm so you do not have chronic spasms that cause so much pain you tense up and cannot move. Does the United States realize what is is doing taking pain medication away? People in pain are suffering. It is cruel and inhumane to let people suffer like this.

It has gotten ridiculous with the government telling us how we feel. Walk in my body 1 hour, you couldn't!! I don't even have much time to live and have been plagued with many diseases for over 25 years. I choose to suffer through all of it without narcotics until I turned 50 then I was sent to a doctor who prescribed me oxycodone. It was a miracle! I could walk, play with my grandchildren. I lost 90 lbs. just because I was so active. I was living life again. The I came back to the US and here I am again, over weight, can barely walk. I use a walker. I'm in so much pain it is ridiculous! Thinking about leaving the US again just so I can enjoy whatever time I have left. It's a shame that my own country is doing this to us, people who are really sick. You can tell by medical records if someone is I'll or if they are just a drug addict! Get real DEA! It's time to change things.

To those who have not passed a drug test. My spouse was taking selegine, every test that was taken he was testing positive for meth. After hours, days of searching as to why this was occurring, I found that the selegine was the issue. He DOES NOT USE METH. It was a false positive. Did the Dr's care? Not a bit. After discussions the Dr realized that that medication will test false positive. The Dr took him off a Med that was helping him. He no longer is testing positive for meth, in turn my spouse is declining. If you search for medications, over the counter you will find you can test FALSE POSITIVE from aspirin, foods etc. hundreds of foods aspirin (too many to list) you will test false positive from meth to exctasy, again too many to post. The Dr's will immediately kick you out without giving you the benefit of doubt. It's unfair, it was humiliating. We know we are tested, we are not so stupid if he was actually partaking in meth, we would not be so stupid to stop using (we are NOT!) that we would not use for how many days for it to be out of his system before his appointment. But the Dr's especially pain management won't take the time to figure out what was/is causing false positive for illegal drugs. They just boot you. I don't have the link at moment to share all the over counter medications to foods. We are not being treated as people in severe pain, every day. We are now looked at as junkies. The DEA & Dr's are only sharing the accidental overdoses, the flip side of the story they are hiding is the suicide rate has skyrocketed because we are not getting help. I myself was ready to drive into a telephone pole. A person can only handle so much pain before you become desperate, unable to handle the pain and just want it to STOP. The people that are not getting help are either going to the streets, & who knows what they are actually getting. Desperation of pain you can't tolerate. 2 days ago, the pharmacist told me that heroin is coming back with a vengeance because we are desperate to get out of pain. But the DEA just hides this side of the story. We have NO quality of life, hence the suicide rate has jumped. They just don't care. Job security is more important to them than people in pain, and people taking their lives because they just can't handle the pain any longer. It's none of the DEA Biz to dictate to Dr's pharmacys. Now we are shuffled to pain clinics that treat us like junkies, do not prescribe what's needed. How to stop the insanity of the DEA? I wish I knew. My own Dr. After seeing him since my accident 2008, has now told me he can no longer treat me. I've never lost my medications, I've never miss an appointment I've never failed a drug test I always come clean for the test that you are taking what's prescribed. I've had several failed surgeries. Now I have been given the boot due to the DEA requirements. So what can we do, where can we go. Suicide or the streets which is too risky. I wish every DEA personal, congress anyone that h

My back did not fuse even after having 16 back surgeries to try to resolve the problem I have been told I will live in constart pain the rest of my life as I have severe spinal stenosis and the two docs in my back rub against each other as I have no disc space which any time I make any slight movement, I am in agonizing pain. I challenge the idiots who made the decision that chronic pain patients can live a life without pain medication to come see me and I will be glad to constantly hit them in their back 24/7 365 days a year to know what it feels like. The government should not dictate the care given to the patient as they do not know the cases of the patients who are in pain, ONLY the doctor does. By the CDC making such pain medication guidelines, you will force pain patients to go to the streets to receive pain medications which cannot be controlled by the doctor where there will be more overdoses than the doctors prescribing pain medication to chronic pain patients. In addition, there will probably be more incidents of suicide because chronic pain patients will not be able to handle the pain without the help of pain medications. I wish the government idiots who made this decision, could spend their life in pain so they can understand what chronic pain patients go through living in constant pain. This decision eliminates any quality of life for chronic pain patients! The government does not have the right to determine the lives of America. Citizens and the decision should be made between only the doctor and patient. This decision should be overturned IMMEDIATELY!

I have Avascular necrosis : it's a loss of blood supply to the bone, when bones and joints get no blood it dies. I don't take pain pills often , but I will take it on days I cannot move. I as many others with Avn have a rare disease and we suffer every day in debilitating pain. I wish you would help chronic pain and not throw us under the bus. Most of all I wish people with Avn could find a doctor educated in Avn. Another problem with a rare disease is so little funding for research to help people. I have a support group for Avn we try to raise awareness to get help for this disease. Before you allow more people to suffer with chronic pain, talk to them. I really think the CDC is a bunch of professionals making life decisions for things they don't suffer from, any many don't know about. Please get educated. Here is a video on Avn our group made. They have a right to treatment, less pain, but most of all we deserve more research on this disease . http://youtu.be/rBiM4POI73s

I have had chronic pain for years, same with many I know. Read about Avascular Necrosis, where your bones die from lack of blood. Do you not think, that why your bone dies, and your walking on dead bones, don't hurt like ****. Keep your business out of the doctors office. Go to the streets, and clean up the illegal drugs.

I am a retired U.S Army MSG,(60% Disabled), who was being treated well at my local VA Medical Center and now my meds are being cut back. Started last month without notice after the CDC guidelines came out. This is unfair, is jeopardizing my job as I have a hard time standing for 10hrs a day on the lower doses which I was told yesterday will probably be lowered more. My quality of life at home suffers because I have a painful back issue that now by the time work is done I no longer feel like doing anything because of the pain. The Dr that was treating me has left the VA and I can only assume it was because o of policy telling him how he was supposed to treat his patients.

I have had two back surgeries , one neck surgery. I have sarcoidosis all over my body I have stage 4 cirrhosis from the sarcoidosis. I have a list that can go on forever I have diabetes which causes neuropathy in my feet my legs my hands the only kind of pain medicine doctor will give me is Lyrica and Tramadol and it barely even touches the pain but yet they refused to give me anything else. I spend 90%of my time crying in pain but no one cares. I can not have any more back surgery or neck surgery for the pain because of my liver. My liver doctor said I should only take Dilaudid it is the only one that will not affect my liver. I see why people buy drugs off of the street the only reason I'm not out there doing it is because I'm afraid I would get something that was poisoned but our government is pushing people to get their drugs off the street Instead of beging pain management for help .And getting the medicine like they need and let them being tested for it. I think this is the way our government wants to get rid of the sick and elderly.

The narcotic medications really do more good than harm. This from the government is Ridiculous especially for those who have proof to show that they Need it for Survival. Shame them.

I suffer from a fatty liver my doctor tells me I have to exercise the truth is at this time I have a hard time getting out of bed making myself something to eat I am no longer active as I once was everyday is a struggle and with the lowering of these meds everyday is impossible now I beg you to reconsider this law, do pain management offices watch over them with a fine-tooth comb keep them on track on how they are treating the chronically ill patients but please do not do this to us I go to a chronic pain management program now and I would gladly be watched like a hawk even more so than I am now and be able to get the medicine to help me get through the day I am only 52 years old I don't want to stop the basic things in life like being able to go out with my friends and have something to eat without crying in my mail because I'm in pain I still want to participate and I've seen craft sand all the stuff I loved as it stands now I barely can even make myself something to eat I grab anything that's fast, listen to what I am now and let me tell you what I once was I used to run a whole nursing home by myself I was a housekeeper I love my job and I miss it and now I am just a shadow of what I was I'm only seeking out pain relief so it doesn't hurt to sweep the floor and it doesn't hurt to live a little I feel my rights have been taken away and I beg you please reconsider this. Hi my name is David Chalifoux I have been in chronic pain for most of my adult life, I have fibromyalgia, herniated disc in my back and neck I suffer daily with the fibromyalgia I've had it long before it had a name, in the beginning it started off having a few bad days a week it was no big deal and as time progressed I was having more bad days than good, I've had doctors treating me with pain meds through the years I have never abused this medication but it it enabled me to be able to get out of bed make breakfast go to the store pick up a loaf of bread and Supply me with the very basics of moving I am 51 years old now fibromyalgia has destroyed my life as I once knew it for about a year now I have been going to pain management in case you're not familiar with that every month they make me pee in a cup and asked me my pain levels for the past month and for the day I'm there even though my pain levels are still up I told them I am telling you my pain level but this doesn't mean I want more meds it just means the disease is getting worse, while I'm there they told my meds and make sure I'm not over using them I'm not going to lie in the beginning I thought this is awful but then I came to realize the reason why they do it and now I still accept it. Since the DEA imposed the new laws threatening to take Dr licenses off of them if someone dies and there care from these meds this has made the pain management lower the dosage of what I'm allowed I was allowed 15 milligrams of OxyContin every 4 hours if needed and now they have me on 15 milligrams every 8 hours only allowing me 3 pills a day, I don't call this management I called this 2 hour window to accomplish the tasks that I have to do while the medication is working and then home after those two hours I have to wait another 6 hours 2 I'm able to take another one, I am suffering. When these laws report in effect they claim it's because there are too many overdoses with these medications I believe the facts show it's not just the patients who are abusing these meds it's also the Doctor's remember awhile back two brothers who were in construction work we're getting oxycodone for my Dr so they could perform heavy duty jobs of course these two brothers kept taking more and more to seek out more relief, they wasn't using it to get out of bed in the morning and be able to make breakfast they wasn't using it to be able to get dressed and I wasn't using it to be able and sits with a ball game without feeling like the pain was going to destroy them they chose to use it to be Superman and for acts like this the people who are really in chronic pain are suffering now, the doctor should have never allowed that they should have been watched all the time and being they had to take that medication they should I had to be taken out of work right off the bat let's face it if you are taking it to function to do a job you're not taking it for the right reasons. By lowering the dosage of this medicine they are putting

Michigan neurology almost killed me by putting me on methadone!!! Pain clinics are a bad idea!!! If the doctor can write a prescription the doctor could lose his or her medical license!!! I want legal relief. If it means I have to hire an attorney and sue the hospital the doctor and the DEA that's what I will do. Do you know harm Is ********

There are far worst things the DEA needs to be focusing all there time on. I have been severely injured during combat and am lucky to be alive, however to get the appropriate medication I need to treat these sever injuries is a constant struggle. All doctors understand and want to help me but always say they cant do much if anything at all do to the strict guidelines set forth by the DEA. I'm tired of not getting the help I need so I can continue to work 2 jobs and go to school full time all while in constant pain. I know there are others in my same situation or worst and I feel for each of you as well.
