Please everyone consider signing the petition at http://petitions.moveon.org to withdraw the CDC guidelines put in place in March of this year. Slightly less than 800 more signatures are needed for this petition to be submitted directly to President Obama, the Senate, and The House of Representatives. It is the CDC that has caused what is occurring right now and while the letters to local legislators are undoubtedly helpful, what is being written here is on a page that has been online since 2012. We need to take all the steps we can to fight back and I truly believe that the moveon.org petition can help us.

TO the Riverton NJ poster, I will be contacting Dennis as well. Please, I urge you all to reach out to your senators, the DEA, CDC, FDA and anyone else you may think of. There are many chronic pain support groups that are doing what they can to fight back. Strength comes in numbers. I urge you all to join as many as you can and stay on top of the very criminal acts the DEA, CDC, FDA and the government are doing. HEY MR. PRESIDENT, DO SOMETHING RIGHT FOR A CHANGE, STAND UP FOR THE SUFFERING!!!

The mammoth error by the DEA will have deadly serious consequences. The situation is grave. These inept government workers need to have their illegal actions overturned. We need to hire a good human rights lawyer. Every human being has the God-given right to obtain relief. No government institution holds this right. I went to the ER in acute, protracted pain, and was told my blood pressure was elevated from pain. I was told they are not permitted to dispense narcotics, and gave me tyleonol with 5% painkiller, and only gave me a prescription for 10, and quickly ran out. Due to the unthinkable DEA regulations, by not permitting me - a responsible person - to obtain legitimate relief, the DEA has put me at risk for a stroke and kidney damage. This is a very grave situation that must be addressed by a united, methodical, sensible group of those of us put into an untenable position by the DEA. I propose that we contact Dennis Prager, a radio host, who has spoken out against this insensible, unthinkable, unworkable holocaust on patients in pain. We need to all do our part. Now. http://www.dennisprager.com

I live with chronic, often extreme, pain every day of my life. There are effective treatments that would make my life livable but doctors are afraid to prescribe them because the government has decided, in their wisdom, they know more about medicine than physicians. I would ask them to get out of our lives. I have fibromyalgia and just want to live somewhat normally, today I feel like just jumping off a bridge. It never ends, it's like being constantly beaten up and left by the side of the road. Please allow doctors to do their jobs.

the doctors need to quit telling people they are depressed and that is what is causing the pain. The depression comes FROM being in pain.

I have had back surgery back in 2008, where I had L-3,4,5 fused together it's now 2016 , the surgery was a complete flop!! I now have sever back pain and have been seeing a pain clinic to get meds to live a better life, "quality of life" recently my doctor got fired for putting patients on probation with no real reason, she told me I'm on probation because I had broke 1 of my meds in half.. Just efin rediculas !!! I have been going to this clinic for years. And have been in great shape 2 on the pain scale when I'm taking my meds. So here is the question. At the same time I got put on probation, I 100% disagree with reason why I got put on probation. Also the doctor dropped my pain meds in half? Her response was "I'm the doctor, I know what's best" now because I'm on probation and she got fired the doctor was not keeping good records, is that legal taking a patient off pain meds cold turkey ? And no ryme or reason for dropping my meds down? I have totally lost my quality of life. No energy, can't make it to work on time or have to leave early because of the pain.. Someone please advise ???

Things I no longer do because my pain is no longer treated; go to church, out to eat, shop, go for a ride, see my grandkids, walk, play with and train my dogs, wear make up or jewekry, enjoy hobbies such as playing guitar and piano, sewing, knitting crocheting, cooking, cleaning my house, visiting friends, swimming, shooting, even seeing a movie at home is too much. I have lost my life due to pain. This loss happened this last year since my doctor will no longer prescribe adequate pain medications. I had taken them since I was 9, off and on. I had taken them regularly the last 16 years. I am responsible, not an addict and tired of being treated as a criminal just because I am sick. Youneed to pay attention to the UN's report.

Why is it that the DEA says this, then supports the laws restricting pain medication prescriptions? I am a chronic pain sufferer. I live in constant pain, even with the medication the doctor prescribes. Without that medication, I don't think I could survive at all.

I have a genetic disorder that has caused me to have chronic, unrelenting pain. My doctors have all told me that essentially the DEA has tied their hands when it comes to treating chronic pain. Please PLEASE understand I do NOT want to take narcotics, but without them, I am essentially bedridden and I'm only 50. I have my first grandson on the way, and at this very moment, I am in withdrawal because my pain manage to doctor says he can only prescribe so many opiate prescriptions a month, and he now, after 4 years of "qualifying for" narcotic medication, I am now low patient on the totem pole, and I will be forced back into the bed, to waste away and suffer for the remaining days on earth. What is happening to pain patients in this country is a travesty. I am a college graduate, articulate and passionate person. I have a true zest for life, and all of this is being robbed from me because someone who hasn't lived in my shoes is making life choices FOR me. One day, you will hurt, and wish every moment that it would just be somewhat bearable- or maybe you will have a loved one who hurts everyday, and there's nothing you can do to help. I pray none of this happens to you, or your loved ones, because it is gut wrenching. By the way, I am a nurse. I have spent most of my life helping others lives be bearable, be long and healthy, and relieve their pain. I had to give up my profession when I became ill. I had no idea I was also going to have to suffer this way forever. It is WRONG.

Anyone that has suffered from chronic pain and turned to long-term opioid therapy after exhausting all other options can relate to this issue. It is absolutely unconscionable how patients are treated and the hoops they are expected to jump through in order to obtain desperately needed medications. Many commonly used medications list side effects relating to physical dependence. However because these medications are ?controlled? and commonly abused, patients who rely on them to improve their quality of life are saddled with a process that is not only discriminatory and inhumane, but actually exacerbates the problem and increases healthcare costs that are already out of control. This is for anyone that has had to sit in a pharmacy waiting area all day while insurance companies and government ?officials? make life-altering personal decisions that should be made by a doctor and his patient. It is more than just inconvenient ? this garbage makes it that much more difficult for chronic pain patients to maintain productive lives. In addition, it forces many legitimate patients to obtain their medications illegally; a more dangerous result anyone would agree is far from an acceptable alternative. The worst part? Treatment plans are now constructed by ignorant government regulators and corrupt insurance companies instead of doctors and patients. It is yet another attempts to eliminate personal responsibility from American society to protect drug companies from lawyers.

I have two types of cancer, arthritis, chronic pain, spinal stenosis, buldged disk, psoriasis, I can no longer drive due to pain. I have severe muscle spasms, migraine headaches, severe cramps in abdominal area. I have at least two Doctor appointments a week a stack of testing orders and labs that must be conducted. My primary refused pain medication I was told to ask my Orthopedic physician they told me to ask my oncology doctor the said to go to a pain clinic and the pain clinic said they won't give out pain meds unless I have all my X-rays bone scan and my Mri's done again. I had them conducted last year! I have two children, I have a hard time dealing with the constant pain and trying to be a good mom. With all the pain I have and with no help I wish the Cancer had just finished me off! Because of junkies and some bad doctors people who actually need help are left with only one other option. Doctors should be ashamed of themselves!

?Approximately 35% of Americans have some element of chronic pain, and approximately 50 million Americans are disabled partially or totally due to chronic pain. Chronic pain is reported more commonly in women. ? ?Rates of opioid overdose deaths also increased significantly, from 7.9 per 100,000 in 2013 to 9.0 per 100,000 in 2014.? ...which means there were 28,350 deaths from opioid overdose in the US in 2014. DEFINITION OF RARE DISEASE---US ?An orphan [rare] disease is defined as a condition that affects fewer than 200,000 people nationwide.? http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/ucm143563.htm ...which means that the rate of overdose deaths doesn't even fit the criteria for a rare disease! Yet 50 million people (!!) are disabled by chronic pain! Since it doesn't even fit the criteria of a rare disease, the CDC guidelines---catastrophizing the amount of overdose deaths into an ?opioid epidemic? is ridiculous..and the result of disallowing chronic pain patients proper access to these drugs are in violation of international law: ?Almost five decades ago, governments around the world adopted the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs which, in addition to addressing the control of illicit narcotics, obligated countries to work towards universal access to the narcotic drugs necessary to alleviate pain and suffering. ? http://bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1741-7015-8-8

This is a national disgrace. The DEA has overstepped their bounds. I cannot fathom the dark recesses of the minds that conceived this. People need to fight back - and fight back hard. We've all had to stand up to a bully in our lives. Our very lives are at stake. We'd best stand together and fight. To Dr. Linda: my cousin worked for the justice department, and left - he said it was corrupt. A lot of the government is. Vote Trump.

If you can spray agent orange " very bad chemical" on our troops in the Vietnam war to kill the vegetation and know full well that its going to have cause major health issues for our solders on the ground and the siblings that follow, and deny it for many years until you are caught, by a few good men i might add, i trust none of you anymore. You have no soul,no spirit and are just plain from from the depths of hell. Where you shall return soon i do PRAY. And from the poison pills, shots that are worth Nothing but to cause pain, which has been taken in a desperate cry for relief, help and trust, will take you to an early death with continued treatment of such. All it takes is just one good pharmacist or doctor! And you thought no doctor would squeal on Agent orange. but they did. There is another that will tell of your judge and jury tactics in a private room. Gee, thats what they did to Jesus that eve. In a private meeting without representation. Go figure. Your are equal to the snakes that slither on the ground. Have met snakes that were better but i cut there heads off because i dont want to get bit in the ass. The MORAL to this is that to get rid of the enemy, " the abusers", you will hurt the innocent and let them suffer for the rest of their life" to stop this war if there really is a war. By our own courts here it is stated that it is far better to let a criminal go free than to convict an innocent person. You just might die by the same meds that you give us. And yes...the pain has been a 9 all day long. My door is always open as you know. Just come in the daylight. I shoot hissing sounds at my door.
