My Min Pin is more dangerous than my Doberman! My Doberman protects my 3-year-old nephew as if he was her puppy. She didn't even move when he was a year old and was sticking his fingers in her ears and up her nose. Had he tried that with the other dog, the Min Pin would've bit him.Nov 13th, 2011Someone from Upper Marlboro, MD signed.

To whom this may concern; Why would the army, ban the dog that stood beside our soldiers in a time of war. A dog who protected our freedom just as much as a soldier has, we don't abandon our human veteran so why abandon our canine veterans and their children. So to me it's like they are saying hey you did a great job protecting us, but we don't care for you anymore. What ever happen to never leave a fallen comrade! I am currently in the military, and have a doberman. They should test every single pet they allow on on-base housing to see how the pet does in a behavior test and then agree or disagree to allow a pet to live on base or give the dog a chance by referring a dog training class. My name is Tyrell and I am speaking out for our fellow comrades the dobermans and all other misunderstood dogs.REPORT COMMENTS

Did they also ban all ankle biters under 20lbs - those little dogs are more viscious and show more dominant behavior then any dobie I have ever met.REPORT COMMENTS

I currently own a pitbull and dobermann and a siamese cat. the cat is more vicious that both the dogs. So its not the dog but how the dog is brought up by the owner. Same applies to humansREPORT COMMENTS

I have owned 4 doberman's in the last 26 years and not one of them has bitten anyone. It's not the breed it is how any dog is brought up.REPORT COMMENTS

My family has had dobies, & my daughter & sisters kids (as babies & toddlers) could crawl over and on him, curl up and nap with him & the cats would join in too! They are really super sweet and active- they really just need to run around or go on walks to burn some energy.. But that's no biggie!REPORT COMMENTS

Dobermans are not a threat to anyone. The people who mis-handle a Dog, are the biggest threats to any breed. I have owned and trained Dobies for 20 years and see no reason why the Army should ban Military families from having his wonderful breed on base!REPORT COMMENTS
