HOA's need to be dissolved. They are completely unnecessary and use scare tactics to show how necessary they think they are. Most city ordinances will take care of issues that the HOA's will declare you need them for in order to keep your neighborhood nice and its home value up.REPORT COMMENTS

Hoa board does not do anything but complaining and show off their power. They can paint or do whatever to their home without approval but not the neighbors. The neighbors have to ask for their approval to do it. Believe or not, there are many houses in the neighborhood leave their fence black ( not maintained) and nothing happen. And then, others paint or stain their fence, they complain about the unapproved color and will give a fine if the fence is not repainted. However, they can do anything to their home. The color they picked for their fence is nasty, and people got fine for it even if they use natural cedar stain. How unfair it is. They basically just want to show off the power. We are stressed out living in this neighborhood every day. America is free country, so do something to make sure every one is equally free...REPORT COMMENTS

I thought hoa benefited me until I purchased a condo. What a nightmare it has been! I believe hoa have too much power. I believe need special court to monitor hoa to insure peoples rights not violated. In hoa ,people and personalities often don't mix well! Experienced everything from discrimination in provision of services to harassment because wasn't "liked", Or didnt "fit in the clique". We have about 50% of our owners paying thier dues. The other 50% don't pay their dues and claim the Association is in breach of contract for not providing the services. Catch 22 no money, no services. The courts continue to rule in favor of the Homeowners. If the Association is Dissolved how are the common areas kepted up? ie: the road, channel, the lawn care, the insurance for the neighbors to protect you when something happens to their place.REPORT COMMENTS

My HOA actually punishes me for keeping the landscape edging done, planting flowers and washing my windows. I received a desist latter stating I cannot cut my grass, edge or remove debris, that have failed to do, from my own property. Seriously? I am being punished for TAKING CARE OF MY PROPERTY WHEN THEY DO NOT? It's crazy. Again, I implore to you. Please refresh the law so these HOA companies are held to a reasonable standard. What they do is keep the situation where they want, hire whom they want, and collect thousands of dollars to do so.
