as a teacher, cell phones create constant distractions to students, allow students to interact in ways which lead to fights, and generally change the priority of the students from learning to socializing. Anything to disable their use would be a great asset.

I have a concern with alowing 2 parent phone numbers to go as unblocked. It's been my experience that too many times the parent is the culprit by texting their child at any time during class. The child feels obligated to respond in class or anywhere.
