If parents could sit in my classroom for 20 mins, I would like to think they would quit advocating about their child's personal rights and become much more concerned about their education and attitude towards it. The lack of training on cell phone etiquette by parents is the cause of all above mentioned nuisances with these devices and has made our jobs even more difficult.

If teachers are to evaluated on student achievement--then support for the teachers to negate the detrimental affects of the cell phones must be offered tot he schools. Adults are not mature enough to stop cell phone usage must less a high schooler/middle schooler. Please support this issue with full authority for the school districts to control cell phone usage during class times.

good luck with your much needed concept. Between us allowing ipods(outside of class time) and cell phones(outside of class time as well) I exhaust much of my time dealing with them during class. Please HELP!!!

I like this idea. I'm concerned about the brevity of information I have on this. For instance, will this technology affect other machines used in the classroom?

If your child is watching TV and not listening to you, you shut the TV off...if your presenting your lesson and a student is texting, you shut the phone off

It's sad that we need etiquette rules, along with safety laws, established for the use of cell phones that applies to EVERYONE! This will help our teachers so they can TEACH in our schools; vote for it.
