Wonderful idea! Students should focus on learning -not texting, while at school! The texting causes tremendous problems in middle school. I can just imagine how bad it is at a high school!Feb 10th, 2011Someone from Cartersville, GA signed.

I am behind this 100%. From an administrative standpoint, cell phones are a nightmare. The texting, sharing of inappropriate information, and overall usage give the students a network of communication that is out of the control of adults. It gives power to students.....making them less respectful and less attentive, altogether.REPORT COMMENTS

At a time when little is in the teacher's hands to control. This might be one little thing that politicians can't screw. However, the bigger concerns are education funding, teacher input. Stop blaming bad teachers for everything that is wrong with education. Until leaders wise up and create competitive salaries, respectful societal treatment, and control by educators and not bureacrats we will continue to struggle regardless of improvements like cell phone control.REPORT COMMENTS
