The whole idea was a lie from the start. The picture quality is awful, you cannot watch TV in cloudy weather (you can at least have a snowy picture with analogue), and it even had an adverse environmental impact, due to the number of good, working analogue TVs that were doomed to the landfill. Not to mention the idea of banning analogue TV being a fine example of overgrown government.Dec 22nd, 2015Someone from Tucson, AZ writes:
Whoever did this should be put in a jail cell with digital tv.REPORT COMMENTS

My family home rests in a valley that branches off of a larger valley. Digial converter boxes can't bring in any channels even with a digial 120 mile range antenna. I honestly feel that, all U.S, citizens must be given their locale TV channels. When converter boxes, or antenna's isn't able to pull in locale channels -- thus, leaving families in the dark per say, and no cable exists or, even the lessor satellete dish packages are to expensive, analog must be supplied and or, satellete companies must supply lowest packages for free. It's not like, they kick and fight over price increases.REPORT COMMENTS

Digital tv signal is terrible. I live 20 minutes from down town San Jose and the signal is always dropping for multiple channels and makes television unwatchable. Broadcasts were much much better for this tradition to digital TV. Completely unacceptable.REPORT COMMENTS

I would like analog tv back because 1) it is easy to use 2) A lot of people have crt televisions and some people even have portables which cannot pick up the signals.REPORT COMMENTS

So sad that digital tv cuts out half the programming. I miss analog where I could at least hear the show if not see it. Advertisers are paying for nothing. Fix it or go back!! Please.REPORT COMMENTS

I have put up with a lot of garbage but I would be thrilled to sit in bed and watch TV without it buffering. I was perfectly content with analog, it had no issues other than a bit if static but I could at least watch and hear my shows. Now I have to pray that my show will come through.REPORT COMMENTS

...or at least improve the quality of digital TV transmission. In my area, there are three major broadcast companies (representing 10 channels) that I cannot get; and I live in a densely populated county of 1 million people. That's how bad digital technology is. The channels I do get skip so badly they're often unwatchable. Digital TV has been a boon for the cable companies.REPORT COMMENTS

Analog TV was doing just fine! As the Old School Folks Always Said: " If It's Not Broke, Don't Try And Fix It." BRING BACK ANALOG TV, PLEASE! Stop being in cahoots with the cable companies and give the American People who happen to pay your salaries have what they're asking for!REPORT COMMENTS

This move must have been pushed by the cable and dish companies (as well as TV manufacturers) to make local television so complicated and problem ridden that people rely more on paid services and buy new Tv's. Every time a mosquito flies by, the signal goes out. Ridiculous. I miss analog TV.REPORT COMMENTS

My reasons and complaints for DTV is that when you don't get a good signal all you see is black. When the signal is messing up it looks like a DVDs scratching up. Ever since DTV came out, I haven't watched tv the same anymore. I went without TV for almost 3 years and when I started watching tv again the programing changed. Maybe it's a good thing I don't watch tv as much no more.REPORT COMMENTS

There are so many states that have written in to say digital sucks. THEY ARE ALL COMPLETELY CORRECT. If it comes in at all, when I get interested in a program or really want to watch the news the signal is inferior and substandard. Since the supposed law makers made digital the only way and it's substandard, I say Lets give them substandard pay for substandard work. Then prison time for catering to the special interest groups that made a huge fortune from this law. The government is in place to SERVE the people. Since they can't or won't serve us, then they don't need a job and should be forced to pay back every cent they made while in government. POLITICIANS ARE USELESS BAGS OF EXCREMENT THAT DONT DESERVE TO HAVE A JOB, LET ALONE SUCK THE SAME AIR AS THE WORKING CLASS ( YOU REMEMBER US , THE ONES THAT YOU RAPE EVERY MOMENT YOU CAN) I SAY LETS MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD. Hey lawmakers read the CONTITUTION and about the French Revolution ( things didn't work out well for those politicians e ok other did it? History repeats itself.REPORT COMMENTS

Bring back reliable analog. I used to get about 20 channels. Then the "new and improved" digital came, and maybe I get 3 channels now. On a really, really good day, I may get 5 channels. I can't get pbs any longer either. I used to have Directv but dumped them when they, not only kept screwing up my bills then blaming me, but then took me to collections when THEY owed ME money. They finally paid up, but not until the damage was already done. Tried dish but they don't work where I am as their satellite was too low...or so I was told. Time Warner and the other cable providers will not bring cable down my short rural road. So, thanks to all of you politicians, I'm screwed. And don't get me started about digital and storms. My wonderful signal went out during a time when we had a tornado watch and stations were flashing updates. Really safe. Get rid of digital and bring back analog.REPORT COMMENTS

I am nostalgic for old things, whether it be phones, cars, or TVs. I want to get a vintage TV with the dials, until I discovered the converter box forces you to change channels with the box and not the channel dials. And other people are complaining of signal problems now, we don't want this, we were fine with having fuzzy pictures, and we want you to bring analog back. We don't like digital.REPORT COMMENTS

TV service has become monopolized by the big satellite & cable companies. They do not care about customer service, or even in providing a good service. We are forced to pay out the nose even for local news. Enough! Bring back analog TV.REPORT COMMENTS
