Why does the govt get involved in tv analog vs digital anyway. We never had issues with analog like we do the digital. This week I have 4 channels that work. Watching slightly fuzzy tv as a kid was way better than this unwatchable, broken up crap we have now. I live less than 15 miles from our local stations and use a 60 mile antenna. Most of the time only one or two stations have enough signal for me to watch.REPORT COMMENTS

I grew up with analog and It was better than this. I have 2 antennas now and I only get one channel really good but it still breaks up and is unwatchable at times. Funny thing is I live in a Chicago suburb! I should get great signal. How can Congress force this on the people!? It's 2016 and TV was better in the 90s! I recently canceled cable because At&t and Comcast were both price gaugers. I had to call every 3 months to complain about my bill. My bill would frequently go up to 220 a month. Sometimes when work is busy I just didn't have time to call and complain and deal with there terrible customer service. I mean just horrible service. So I'd have to just pay the price. I first canceled Comcast (I hate these people with a passion) then switched to At&t ( they were even worse) now I canceled them both. I figured I'd just watch my shows online and use a antenna for TV. Now I realize that Dtv is terrible. Why does everything have to be a total ripp off these days? I can't turn around with out someone trying to steal my money. These politicians make me sick keep in mind I live in Illinois. Not only have they completely sold us out now they are even screwing up our TV signals. WTF!!REPORT COMMENTS

IN THE AREA THAT I LIVE IN, PA, THERE IS ONLY ONE CABLE PROVIDER. FOR SOME ODD REASON NO OTHER CABLE COMPANY IS AVAILABLE, OR ALLOWED TO DO BUSINESS, BESIDES SATELLITE. SATELLITE IS NOT AN OPTION FOR MOST BECAUSE OF THE MOUNTAIN AREA WHICH LOSES SIGNAL CONSTANTLY, LEAVING PEOPLE WITH NO OPTION THEN TO CHOOSE THAT ONE COMPANY. THEY HAVE TO ABILITY TO RAISE PRICES WITHOUT NOTICE AND NOW THEY ARE IMPLEMENTING INTERNET CAPS FOR THOSE YOU DISCONNECT CABLE SERVICE AND CHOOSE TO STREAM. I live in Houston, Texas. Not only does my picture pixelate and freeze during bad weather, it does the same thing when the weather is fair. Very frustrating to be watching a program and lose the signal. It is like reading a book and you find that the last chapter has been torn out. I prefer the rare fading or ghosting of analog signals than the digital cliff of Digital signals where you either get the signal, intermittent signal or no signal at all. This "mandated" digital signal switch (is that even Constitutional???) has been nothing but a giant disaster!! This digital signal, simply put, is DEFECTIVE!! Anything that's defective (product, item, service, system, etc.) needs to be returned or, in this case, exchanged for a system that works, like analog did. There are already enough lost causes to fight for. We didn't need another one. If you can modify the digital signal so that it works, so that it's strong enough to be received by everyone without having to spend a fortune on devices & such, fine, but until then, at least offer a choice, if nothing else. While you're at it, how about some VCR/DVD combo players that don't need a bunch of extra equipment just to be set up. They didn't used to be like that.REPORT COMMENTS

It is outrageous tht you give the Cox cable company, more power over the viewer, once again. They already have a monopoly in this region. Now they are charging greater fees, for less service. The problem with digital, is tht when there is any bad weather, or rain, the channels freeze up, scrambling them, and making them impossible to watch, this allows Cox to assume no responsibility to its customers. We, the paying customers, should have a choice. Yes, I do like the screen image tht digital produces, but for all the issues, and expense, I would not have switched from analog to digital for this. Analog TV, allowed you to view cable through your home on any TV, plugged into the cable outlet. Now, you have to order special equipment, at an add fee, to watch cable on all outlets through out the home now. Each cost extra, running the bill higher. This is very sketchy behavior by any means. Why not offer the customer a choice when ordering what services they want, analog or digital. Personally, with HD quality, I don't see much of a difference. After all, before they institutued all this change to digital, I was already picking up quite a few channels digitally without having to change anything. Bring Analog back.
