Lets hire lawyers to sue these companies since being bilingual in Spanish is racist discrimination. Most American people are bilingual because they were born from immigrant or Native Spanish speaking parents. The American government allowed Spanish speakers to come in droves. Yet did not make it a requirement in our schools to speak and learn Spanish like most other countries make their citizens learn English as a requirement. So why do I have to be punished for not being born into a Spanish family? How is this legal?REPORT COMMENTS

I am a descendant of denationalized people in America also known as black, colored, or African-American. Our original languages were allowed to be stripped from us by the U.S. govt. and we were forced to embrace Christianity and learn English as a language. Today in 2016 after decades of allowed illegal immigration, we are again being disenfranchised through job discrimination, for not knowing a language that was never mandatory in schools, in favor of immigrants who come here bilingual. Continuous economic and racial discrimination against the real natives of the planet aka "black" people is criminal and should be considered an act of war.REPORT COMMENTS

National Origin Discrimination National origin discrimination involves treating people (applicants or employees) unfavorably because they are from a particular country or part of the world, because of ethnicity or accent, or because they appear to be of a certain ethnic background (even if they are not). National origin discrimination also can involve treating people unfavorably because they are married to (or associated with) a person of a certain national origin. Discrimination can occur when the victim and the person who inflicted the discrimination are the same national origin. National Origin Discrimination & Work Situations The law forbids discrimination when it comes to any aspect of employment, including hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoff, training, fringe benefits, and any other term or condition of employment. National Origin & Harassment It is unlawful to harass a person because of his or her national origin. Harassment can include, for example, offensive or derogatory remarks about a person's national origin, accent or ethnicity. Although the law doesn't prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such as the victim being fired or demoted). The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, or someone who is not an employee of the employer, such as a client or customer. National Origin & Employment Policies/Practices The law makes it illegal for an employer or other covered entity to use an employment policy or practice that applies to everyone, regardless of national origin, if it has a negative impact on people of a certain national origin and is not job-related or necessary to the operation of the business. An employer can only require an employee to speak fluent English if fluency in English is necessary to perform the job effectively. An "English-only rule", which requires employees to speak only English on the job, is only allowed if it is needed to ensure the safe or efficient operation of the employer's business and is put in place for nondiscriminatory reasons. An employer may not base an employment decision on an employee's foreign accent, unless the accent seriously interferes with the employee's job performance. Citizenship Discrimination & Workplace Laws The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) makes it illegal for an employer to discriminate with respect to hiring, firing, or recruitment or referral for a fee, based upon an individual's citizenship or immigration status. The law prohibits employers from hiring only U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents unless required to do so by law, regulation or government contract. Employers may not refuse to accept lawful documentation that establishes the employmenREPORT COMMENTS

Being descriminated against in the United states for not speaking another language besides English is ridiculous unless your being hired to translate. It's hard enough to find jobs. Why should the majority have to assimilate to other peoples languages that immigrate here? Whether it's Spanish, French or Cantonese it just doesn't make sense..REPORT COMMENTS

It is UNREAL. I am a licensed adjuster and I cannot obtain REAL employment in any claims job in my own country because I am not hispanic, because I am a LEGAL CITIZEN, and don't speak spanish fluently. In Florida companies like ALLSTATE, STATE FARM, HOMEOWNERS CHOICE, WINDHAVEN(disgusting reviews on Google), PROGRESSIVE(uses Randstad Recruiting for their dirty work), AON, USAA(don't apply unless you are male) AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON...deny American Adjuster trainees jobs... Insurance companies are discriminating against EVERY AMERICAN with their requirements for bilingual, immediately disqualifying an American if they do not speak Spanish. It is a disgrace. I am 24 and being done in. How is my generation supposed to get anything and anywhere like this? I won't do business with any of them that have this requirement because they hate American English and Americans and would rather hire a foreign potential terrorist who is NOT QUALIFIED than hire an honest American who simply wants a CHANCE at making a DECENT SALARY. They also discriminate against minorities by asking for their RACE AND GENDER during the application process. They should not be allowed to ask these questions or sell any policies here in the states ESPECIALLY ALLSTATE which is now domiciled in INDIA!!! Americans need to rise up and stop doing business with these FILTH BAGS who are looking to only hire ILLEGALS who speak ARAB/FRENCH/SPANISH/JAPANESE... ANY OTHER LANGUAGE EXCEPT ENGLISH!REPORT COMMENTS

I was unemployed for over two years. I was discriminated against because I could not speak Spanish. Yet every politician in the country wants me...a legal U.S. citizen to vote for them so they can continue to ignore the American citizen. Isn't our most important documents and laws that govern this country written in English. When did it become a disadvantage to speak English. The bottom line is the democrats do want to ensure they have control by allowing the illegal ones to stay. It's not just Dems. Republican need someone to cut their grass and clean their houses. Now that they are all here, the rich won't be affected. Only the people who own the small business and keep getting cut out of work because the illegals come right along and work for lower wages. Now we can't keep work, can't get work because we don't speak Spanish. Someone needs to tell the truth about why everyone is catering to this group when this country prides itself on diversity. There SHOULD BE NO OTHER LANGUAGE THAT IS MORE PREFERED THAN ENGLISH. YEARS FROM NOW THIS WILL BE JUST ANOTHER THIRD WORLD COUNTRY WITH CHICKEN COUPS IN THE BACK YARD. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE RIGHT TO SPEAK ENGLISH.REPORT COMMENTS
