Please do not revoke H4 EAD. Ideally first step should be to fix this broken immigration system where an application for Green card is approved but applicant is just waiting in queue because his/her country of birth. The H4 ead let's skilled spouses contribute towards the society through hardwork and dedication. My wife is currently an h4 ead worker who has made such contributions to the company that she is working. She is highly talented and dedicated. By working and earning she is contributing by paying taxes and social security. There are many individuals like her who have spend all their life through schools and colleges earning their degree, hoping to work someday and be part of the society supporting their families. Please don't deny this basic human need. H1b reform shouldn't be by making h4 ead skilled workers suffer.REPORT COMMENTS

I always felt that everyone is treated fairly in USA and everyone has a right to work with valid visas and when such a right is given to H4 EAD holders then why it should be take be taken back. We H4 EAD holders pay taxes like others. Also how are we at fault when the US consulate is taking forever to issue us the Green cards. We have full right to work when we are just waiting for the green cards. We H4 EAD holders are helping equally in economy growth . Why a well educated and qualified person should sit just waiting for the green card when the person is fully capable of working well in all the sectors ? Please do not cancel H4 EAD. h4 holders were waiting for this opportunity for so long. They saw this light. Everyone got a freedom to work and not spend their important years in just waiting for the green card. H4 EAD holders pay taxes, some of them have started business generating employment for many of local residents. USA is a land of opportunity and country where everyone is treated fairly. H4 EAD helps US economy and people who contributes to its growth a) In US, there is a skills gap and H4 EADs address that. Ask any CEO if there is a Skills gap and you will know the answer. Without H4 EADs, these jobs will leave US economy and you will lose all its contributions b) H4 EADs are given to spouses of H1-B recipients who have been contributing to US economy for a long time and have been approved to get a Green Card. Because of national limitation of Green Cards, the green card process discriminates against Indians and Chinese. Without H4 EADs, families are given a tough choice: a) Leave US which is their new home or b) Have families suffer. For people who decide to leave US, its a loss to US economy and to these families who have invested so much of their time and futures in this country. For families who decide to stay and suffer, its very sad and shocking that America will allow something like this to happen. Create wage restrictions of H1-B and H4 EAD if one thinks American jobs are lost because of this. You will soon realize that its not the case. Removing H4 EAD work authorization is just a terrible thing for everyone involved.REPORT COMMENTS

Please save H4 EAD and basic human right to work in a place we legally live. We are skilled legal immigrants and work hard everyday to contribute immensely in bettering lives of American Public . I have come to this great country more than a decade ago, but with the green card backlogs, we will get green card in 30 -50 yrs from now. This means without H4 EAD my spouse has stay at home for next 30 years and she will never have a fair chance to promote her career.This also applies for all H4 visa holders, There are no restrictions to work for spouses of other visa types, then why should this right be taken away from H4 visa holders? How can this be justified and is it fair targeting one group of people who are legally living in USA from a decade? It should be noted that, we would have become US citizens long time ago, if not for the green card backlogs. Please do your part in stopping this injustice.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm pregnant with my baby girl who is due next spring. To cancel H4 EAD would be a disaster for our family. We won't be able to make a life in the US if i'm unemployed, let alone raising our new born girl. Not all H4 EAD holders are less educated and stealing the low salary jobs from citizens. I have my MA from Carnegie Mellon University and am now contributing my experience and skills at Apple. Inc., paying taxes out of each pay check to make the society better. A lot of even more capable people I know work on H4 EAD to contribute to the their families and to this country. Since we are not STEM majors, or because the departments we are working at are not able to sponsor H1B, H4 EAD is our only option. We are going to be citizens ourselves eventually, the reason we want to work instead of staying at home many years to wait and feel useless, is because we don't enjoy being lazy, losing our knowledge and skills, and becoming the burden of our families or the American society with so many years of excellent schooling and working experiences. I believe cancelling our right to work is not going to do any good to the country, on the contrary, it will break the American dreams of so many families who love this country and love their lives here, and make the life of so many talented citizen-to-be families miserable.REPORT COMMENTS

I spent five years my life getting ead . Me n my husband went through legalised immigration process to get our I 140 as this is step towards green card or citizenship. H4 ead is very valid rule at this point where people passed I 140 as USA allowing them to be a citizen. Second there should be Civic right for H1 holders coz work is just like food, cloth and shelter a very basic thing. Spouses are struggling hard years n yeras after being skilled and well educated.they are not having any identity , no SSN, no wp. This rule is life savior. It contribute to the US economy . As us jobs are concerned they absolutely won't get affected by this rule and not affecting. Third I felt if we spend working hard for prime years , coming through legalised immigration process then our spouses need to have basic Civic right after working andstaying for such a long. Its a legal right for h4 ead spouse to work through immigration system after fought for so long and coming through system , paying taxes , feels n love for the country. President Trump wants skilled people to work in the US and wants to cancel chain immigration. I agree with wanting to do away with chain immigration and lottery visa based on skills. If the land of the free truly respects talent and skills then it is necessary to ensure that they and their skilled educated spouses are able to lives of respect and dignity. Preventing an h1b dependant (h4) from employment is not a silver bullet for Hire American and buy American policy. We Indians dont want to take away a fellow American job. We want to just use our skills to contribute and work hand in hand with the Americans. There needs to be a regulation to prevent the misuse of a privilege rather than striking it outright in the name of a reform. The proponents of the theory that H4 ead are taking away American jobs or lowering the wages are basing their premise on demand and supply of employable workforce and this mentality is not healthy for the economy at large. Yes, if an American and Indian is qualified for the same job, an Amercian should be preferred, but not offering other a chance is no honour.
