I am 10 year experienced professional on IT field. I worked in H1B for a while and due to personal health issue convert to H4 and started working on H4EAD after an year.. All our skills really helped the industries and economy irrespective of our visa categories.Work is a work.L1 visa spouse got their EAD's with in 90 days. H1 visa spouse should also come under this category, We are not asking for unskilled people. Lot of skilled people who really wants to contribute to this society in a genuine way fall in this category. We are legal immigrants and request this Govt to take actions to keep H4EAD working option. It affects lot of families who are waiting to get the GC and the society too who is getting benefited out of these people, Lot of engineers, doctors, teaching professionals, business owners can definitely make America Great Again!!!

Giving work authorization to h4 visa holders is a win -win situation for everyone. H4s are self dependent and earning as well as they are paying taxes .

Following are some common misconceptions - (a) H4EAD is not given to all H1B dependents. It is only given after I-140 is cleared which means that the government has accepted there petition of permanent residency. (b) H4EAD not only lets people work or be employed, it also opens opportunities to start businesses, businesses which will have a need to hire locals to grow. (c) Like Dreamers, dependent children of H1B who had come to USA are now becoming adults and cannot work or contribute and face a bleak and uncertain future, the parents in this case have come here legally and have paid taxes since the beginning. My wife has an MBA, she has her own business. She is not even in IT. She is looking at expanding the business as well as hiring people in the future. Those who are applying for H4EAD are contributing to American society, creating jobs and not creating burdens. H4 are talented, highly skilled and experienced individuals. Why should we suffer because we are citizens-in-waiting for 8-15 years? You have agreed to make us citizens, treat us like one. Let us work till the broken immigration system is reformed. We are not a burden on social security or medicare. In fact, we contribute to the US growth. Why should we be discriminated against when you have accepted us for citizenship?

We are waiting for the green card. My wife is highly educated Doctor at the hospital, she saved thousands of peoples and improved american citizen's health situation, why she will lose her job. It is a small loss for my family, it will hurt a lot of US citizen's health, too.

I came to the USA in 2015 on H4. I am currently pursuing Masters in the field of Computer Science from a reputed university in OR. I am counting so much on H4 EAD to stay, so I can work in many amazing technology companies here in the USA and build my expertise in the field of computer science while I work towards my degree. This way I could also pay the school fees on my own and not be totally dependent on my husband for every single thing. I want to live the American dream. I want to be a vital cog of American workforce. I want the American economy to grow as I grow with it and build a life of my own here. Please do not rescind H4 EAD.

We came to US in 2010. Since then we both worked on H1B and my wife filed for GC. for some reason I didn't file as we were intended to go back to India. Now I'm on H4 EAD and work for a major bank. We recently bought a house and younger kid going to preschool. We are staying legally, paying taxes, fees to the school thus contributing to the economy. Removing H4 EAD would be a big blow for us. We need to wait for years to get the GC and till that time I will be out of job. Please consider this.

I came in USA on F1 visa in 2010 and did Masters from a reputed university in New York. I got my first opportunity to work in a America's reputed bank by going through a stringent interviewing process. In 2015, my employer filed by H1 but it didnt go through the lottery. It was the same year when this rule of H4 EAD was passed. To God's grace, i was able to retain my job. Today, I am a house owner and a mother. If this rule ends, it will destroy my career and we wont be able to pay our mortgage. Please save H4EAD. We are educated, skilled , loyal tax payers who contribute to the growth and revenue of this country.

Cancelling H4 EAD is equal to 'To shoot itself in the foot'. - If you do this for myopic economic or direct/indirect political gains, this great country would suffer - What happened to manufacturing would end up happening to hitech industry. Nobody produces in the USA, something similar would end up happening in hitech and services. - How? - There is dearth of hitech people in the USA. If companies cant hire people here they would hire them in indian captive center. Those jobs can't be saved here. I see that happening every day. - 40% of fortune 500 companies are founded by immigrants. - You would not have Google, Tesla, Yahoo, Chobani, Intel, Ebay, AT&T, Pfizer if not for some immigrant. - Microsoft CEO would not be Satya, Google ceo would not be Sundar, Pepsi CEO would not be Indira, Rajiv Suri (nokia), Shantanu Narayan (Adobe), Sanjay Jha (Global founderies), George Kurian (NEtApp), Ajay Banga (Mastercard) - i can go on and on... and i am only talking about the most recognized name -- if i go to next level CTO, CXO, SVP, VP , the list is endless - H1 and H4 EADs and all the highly skilled people calling America home is a gift to all of us. Lets celebrate it. -- Unmployment rate is 4.1%. If these guys were taking jobs away from american people why is not the unemployment rate higher? -- Cases like Disney/SCE are exceptions.
