It will be very unfair to cancel the H4 EAD for a people who are just one step away from becoming citizen. As unemployment rate is at lowest level and we have millions jobs opening up it will be unfair to stop spouses of h1b people to stop from working specially the numbers of H4 EAD are very low. They own businesses, pay taxes and create more employment. Most of spouses are very high skilled and deserve to realize their dream than sitting at home. Also all other visa class’s spouses can work but not h1 b so it’s discriminatory to just revoke work authorization for H4. Please save H4EAD.

It would be very unfair to cancel H4EAD. We pay taxes, We buy houses, cars etc which in return hugely benefits the US economy so why are you putting us through this? Please understand how much depression it can create in a person who is equally qualified as his/her spouse and be home all day. If you are worried about taking American jobs, that's not right because we do not get jobs without being interviewed. So we compete with the citizens and sometimes do qualify, sometimes don't. To the company it's only a matter of who would do a better job! Then why are you penalizing us. We are your future citizens. Would you not want us to support you when we have the right to vote? Please do not give us a reason to not to. Please save H4EAD.

rI came to US as a MS student and after completion of studies,I got opportunity to work for a MNC . My H1b visa was filed in 2007 which got rejected in the lottery system . It was first lottery in the history of H1b visa . I enrolled myself for further studies. In 2008, I got married to my husband who is a H1b holder . I was looking for sponsorship for H1b , but recession period hit me hard. I completed data privacy certification & finally got a job in 2013 with a company which sponsored my H1b. The project got over in 2015 & I was looking for next opportunity but due to visa constraint, I couldn’t find a job.  H4EAD in May 2016 came as a boon to me. I started applying and got 3 offers in my hand. I had the same capabilities and qualifications before and after getting H4EAD , but “ no visa sponsorship required” clause acted like a charm for me .  For maintaining my certification, I have to attend seminars & conferences where I meet people from my industry . I recommend lot of fellow certification holders who are Americans , to my previous and current employers  and they  land a job ! Whenever I see a job opening in my field, I contact people in my network and refer them . Now they have become my best friends. I firmly believe that I have generated employment opportunities by sending my kids to daycare, by purchasing work clothes/footwear/cosmetics/accessories, by buying a car for my commute, using local services run by Americans such as laundromat , restaurants, gym . I was hardly using above mentioned services when I was a stay at home mom.

IH4 EAD is only needed because of green card backlog. Till it is fixed, please allow spouses of H1B workers, who are mainly women, to work and contribute to US economy.

Completely unfair to get rid of H4 EAD. The reason they need EADs is because of the back log and it is not their fault. Forcing someone to not work goes against basic human rights, especially when they have entered the country legally.

I did my BDS in India and came to US in December of 2012 after marriage. I started preparing for the DDS program in US dental schools to earn the dental degree to further my education. Since I didn't had a work permit, all I could do was volunteer at community clinics. It was very difficult for me to make a good resume since I didn't had any paid job in the US as the schools look at an overall profile of the candidate and paid work experience in the US is highly valued. Even though I passed the NBDE part 1 and 2, which are the exams given by dental graduates of the US dental schools; and having high TOEFL score, I couldn't make it to the DDS program of the US dental schools. Thanks to Ex-President Mr. Obama, he gave me a work permit - the H4 EAD which was like a boon for my career. As I got my work permit, I was eligible for an SSN. After getting SSN, I could sit for the licensing exams for the dental assistant in California, commonly called the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license by the Dental Board of California. Not only did I pass the exams and got my RDA license, I also got the Certified Dental Assistant Certificate (CDA) by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) after passing the CDA exams. Having an RDA and a CDA helped me tremendously to get a job as a dental assistant in California. The paid job not only helped me put my little one in a preschool (preschools are very costly in Bay area) for better education, it also helped me in my resume to US dental schools for their DDS program which was my ultimate goal. Thanks to God, I got selected this year to a highly reputed dental school. Without H4 EAD, I wouldn't have been able to get all the certifications I got later, I couldn't have been able to show a paid position in my resume and my selection to the DDS program would had been next to impossible. Also, we couldn't have afforded putting my kid in preschool as the cost of living is too much. H4 EAD would help me tremendously after graduating with DDS so I am not dependent on H1 lottery for a job. For those who say that you can always go back to your country - no its not that easy. All have their personal reasons to stay in the US. I want to stay here for a better education for my kid. I would also need to pay off my huge loan amount, I cannot do that without a job.

I’m a media industry professional with over 20 years of rich experience. Since I moved to the USA a few years back I was forced to sit at home due to the immigration policies. Recently due to the H4 EAD I’ve been able to work and add value to both the work field I’m in and also to the American economy by paying taxes. Moreover my job is very specialized to the ethnic community, something that needs deep understanding of this community and industry. As a woman, it is very important for my self respect to be able to stand on my own, earn on my own and be able to contribute to economically to this society. I find the proposed withdrawal of the H4 EAD extremely discriminatory towards a law abiding, tax paying woman immigrant into this country!

This will impact a lot of job makers and tax paying high income employees who contributed to society. Consider adding a minimum wage instead. Dependent of L1 visa can work then why not h4ead specially when unemployment is record low

Right to work is a human right. It’s not about earning but it’s more about living a dignified and purposeful life. It’s about following passion and dream. We are small group of people, 99% of which are females who are striving hard to be independent. I can assure that we are only adding to the economy, not taking away any jobs.

H4 EAD is adding to the US economy. Legal residents are contributing for the progress of this nation while they are waiting in line for Green card. There is no reason why people who are working on this class of visa are targets since dependents of other temporary visas like L1 can work. Please fight for equal treatment of legal immigrants and do not revoke work authorization for people on H4 visa.
