This is nuts - don't call it a "credit" if it's really a "loan" - if it's not required to be paid back in 2009 it should not be required to pay back in 2008. -

When they started the 8000 tax credit, they should have made the non-repayment deal retroactive to the previous 7500 tax credit. It is completely unfair that those of us caught in the middle have to repay this over the next 15 years. Please fix this!REPORT COMMENTS

Its not fair at all, and truthfully it doesnt make sense.. I hope somoeone realizes that foreclosures and the economy still dont support this . We are still in the worst possibly way. I closed on my house right at the end of the december and if I would of known I would of waited but its not at all fair .. So hope this will be a consideration factor cause I am now making less money as many others are due to the economy ..REPORT COMMENTS

If I had known that if I would have waited 2 months and gotten an extra $500 and not have to pay it back that is exactly what I would have done. It is not fair that some people have to pay it back and others do not. With the way the economy is right now, the should ammend this so that we don't have to pay the $7500.00 back!REPORT COMMENTS

This is so unfair to all the people who bought their homes in 2008. Why should they have to repay when everyone else doesn't?REPORT COMMENTS

WTF!! no wonder the people have no confidence in our government. Amend the 2008 1st time home buyers credit- not to be repaid or amend the 2009-10 1st time home buyers credit- to be repaid. Never trust the government; they will screw you every time! It seems pretty clear they are not performing their duties as civil service workers and maintaining level playing fields for all.REPORT COMMENTS

This supposed "tax credit", is anything but. It was a loan that was misrepresented by the IRS and the Federal government. They failed to provide clearly defined terms and conditions of the "tax loan". No credit company would be allowed to give loans to people (regardless of their credit rating) without a written and signed contract that provided the terms of the agreement so that both parties mutually understood the agreement being executed. Congeress has no business authorizing the Internal Revenue Service to extend loans to people outside of the scope of payment plans for ligitimate taxes owed. Congress, we have been bamboozled, and I will personally be filing a suit.REPORT COMMENTS

It would be only a great gesture for them to free us all of having to pay it back. We were the people who were helping economy and kept it going. I strongly feel if one is suppose to pay such money back, the person who bought a house month or so later should be treated the same way - or the other way around.REPORT COMMENTS

This is absolutely not fair for all of us who bought our first home in 2008 to be paying $7500 back, when those who bought their house in 2009 not only got more money, but will never had to pay anything. YOU JUST HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT ITREPORT COMMENTS
