It should be America's duty to service to educate those who were once willing to sacrifice so much for her. Not only can we pledge continued support for our military members who will be willing to fight for us but, we are strengthening our work force by having a better educated society.

I was working 2 jobs while my wife cared for our three children. When I was ready to go to school, the financial aid dept told me that my gi bill had evaporated due to too much time passing. That was the first time in my life I had heard that.

My mother was unable to use her GI Bill immediately after separating and is now stuck on rushing to use her benefits and working two jobs. She should have more flexibility!

As the husband of a very hard-working and honorable wife who served, it never ceases to confuse and amaze me how little veterans are cared for after their service.

I was active duty from July 1992-July1995, and inactive reserve status until 2000. I tried to use my GI Bill and Army College Fund immediately after discharge. I had moved once or twice so my payments did not get to me until at least a year after I took my classes. I could not afford to stay in school. Finally, in January 2011, I was able to return to school. My GI Bill has expired. I feel disconnected from and disappointed by the military because of this. I am thankful that I qualify for some federal and state grants, but really, I think my GI Bill should not have expired. I would love to see this changed.
