I had pay for classes with GI bill which mean i had to work. Unlike now, classes are paid for and you get living expenses. Couldnt use the entire amount in 10 yrs bc i had to take only 2 classes at a time.

I feel that if you serve and potentially risk your life for this country that your educational benefits should never expire

Yes circumstances do exist which might prevent someone from utilizing this benefit.

We live in a very different ever changing world. I'm 15 years past service and its clear to me that I must change my career. I would love to use the remaining funds of my gi bill (approx $5,000) to help tuition cost for my new career.

I am a single mother and was using my GI Bill slowly. I used it to start a career in the service industry. When the economy took a hit, I lost my job. It was the first time in my life that I was completely unemployed. I thought it was the perfect time to continue my education. However, I only had 2 months left on my GI Bill. The GI Bill should not expire after 10 years. I served and earned my benefits. I deserve the opportunity to use them.

It is very frustrating to try and get ahead in this world without having a college education. It is even more frustrating when you pay $100 a month for a year for something that they will now not let me use becuase it has been 22 years since my honorable discharge...

I paid into the program when I served and feel there shouldn't be any time limit on use...A refund should be an option for those who choose not to use it

I am a victim of the 10 year limit and can not afford tuition. In some states illegal aliens get better education benefits than I.

I believe it should be extended because service to civilian transition can take years to allow for school and work.
