I am a practicing, and quite sane physician and aquired bed bugs and another insect from an airport shuttle 4 weeks ago. The other insect looks like sand, lint or hair. It is white when alive, red after feeding and black when dead. I will refer to as a lint bug. They crawl and bite, inflicting a mildly painful bite with variable host response. I have not seem them jump, fly or burrow into skin. Unlike mature bed bugs they can penetrate thin clothing and mosquito netting. They are attracted to CO2 and body heat like bed bugs. I believe they are an unrecognized immature form of a bed bug or an unrecognized coparasitic insect which lives with bed bugs. The good news that in my war with the lint bug, they seem to be sensitive to the same things bed bugs are like heat. So for my fellow victims, you are not crazy or alone. If you do all the things recommended for bed bugs I believe it should get rid of lint bugs. The products recommended in the bed bug study from 2015 seem to be effective on lint bugs. Yes, bed bug treatment is costly and a lot of work but if you are really suffering like we are, do as much as you can afford. They seem to travel in columns near the baseboard so vacuuming as often as you can help. What ever you do, don't let them beat you mentally or physically. To the CDC, please get your best entomologists on this now please. To my health care colleagues, this isn't psychosis, it a bug infestation. The suffering and morbidity is high, don't add to it by telling them they are psychotic. My once beautiful single family dwelling is now a bug battle ground and research lab. If you want to see them in action, send me an email. Thank you for your time and attention.REPORT COMMENTS

I am writing as an educated health care professional. I have my Pharm D and my father and aunt are both physicians. My mother has come down with this mysterious illness no one can explain. I would not believe it if I were not witnessing this illness in my own family. Many of the symptoms could be explained by other conditions except for one that there is no known medical explanation for- that is the presence of sand like debris and black specks that emerge from the skin. It is 100% coming out of the skin as she can show by applying vasoline and it surfaces. This would not be all that troubling except she suffers from many other debilitating symptoms and is so afraid of being contagious she rarely goes out. The Internet is by no means a reliable source of information but thanks to the CDCs study results it is the only place one can turn to for help with this unknown disease. We need this investigated further. People are suffering. We need to separate those suffering from delusional parasitosis out of the study and recognize those with a real unknown dermopathy.REPORT COMMENTS

This condition is no joke, and hard to believe. Unbelievable, and far reaching. Everyone will tell you you're crazy and have lost your mind. I know. My poor 24 year old son has been suffering with it for a few years, and just last week reached his limit. I was so mad at him and at my limit too. I was unable to fully believe him, the ridicule and name calling i inflicted on him, then to the point i was throwing blows, hitting him, pummeling his poor sensitive and hurting body. I called him a liar, and said he's ducking stupid, and i said he'd do anything for attention. I said it's all bulshitlish and he needs a straight jacket and a padded cell. I told him to get the **** out of my house . My own son! Please forgive me, my love. My one and only child. I am a terrible mother, and a horrible piece of shit. How could I do that to him. This demodex follicle mite is a *****, that will drive you crazy and then to suicide. You'll slowly lose every friend you know, then your family will abandon you, and at that point everything else is being taken or relenquished and you don't care cuz this hell is now you're life.REPORT COMMENTS

Please CDC find a way to make treatments to get rid of these mites. There are treatments for scabies right? So there should be a way to also cure oneself of bird mites. I know it's these tiny mites because a colony of pigeons roost just above my window every night. I have checked for everything else, including other biting insects like bed bugs, but nothing shows up. I can feel them crawling around my nose, crotch, and now they love living near my eyes probably because it's moisture.REPORT COMMENTS

Right with you 100 percent terrence o.! I lived in coastal northern ca where they started a weapons testing program NWCTR. I think ... north west coastal training range... I wated on a regular basis the navy trigger a series of aeresol containers in the ocean that would bring in a radiated fog. I would take pictures of the macroscopic fog molecules and also under microscope later and found out that the reason the cdc wont do anything is because they created the problem. The whole community became sick all at once. This training range stretching from eureka ca to alaska, is a civilian testing site among many others. This is well documented if you are willing to sort through the riff raff of literature they publish regarding this weapons training range. NUTRASILVER will change your life. Please look into it. Guys, this isn't Morgellans or a disease. This is a parasitic mite, usually a bird or rodent mite that is switching hosts to human hosts. We are trying to get the CDC to understand this but it is tough. The reason they are so hard to kill is they have the ability to go into low metabolism states to survive cold, hot and dessication type temperatures. IF you have this mite, it is imperative you start treating the environment and more particularly, fabrics, immediately. All temperatures for steaming clothes must be 150 F+ and standard wash cycles for clothing DO NOT work, the same goes for dust mites, actually. This is not new knowledge. Make sure to wash clothing with ammonia, DO NOT mix ammonia with bleach. All furniture and fabrics except a small lot of clothes have to go. Sorry but with these little tanks, it is not surprising. Farmers have never cured bird mites on their chickens, just 'managed' them and the CDC and doctors have done no efforts to rid of them research wise. Until they get them, of course. All this is further complicated by the fact that they reproduce exponentially. I believe the CDC already knows the extent of this, especially since they removed a middle aged woman from her home in a hazmat suit when she had bird mites. That doesn't seem to be standard protocol unless they already know what these things do ( they are highly contagious). So we all should be protesting at the CDC office or other places to get them to listen and fund a study. There's no delusional parasitosis here, just a 'bed bug on steroids' so to speak. A few cases have been in the news. If you can obtain a sample you may get the news to shed a spotlight on your situation. I encourage this highly!REPORT COMMENTS

I have had this condition for over two years. I've visited several doctors/dermatologist/hospitals to only receive a temporary fix to this disease. Doctors are not educated on what this is or how to provide help to their patients. My life has been shaken up in so many ways by this disease and through years of taking notes of what happens to my body, bugs/mites/flies I have caught on my skin, I know why these things are attracted to me. It is a internal fungal/bacterial issue that makes my skin/hair a target. There are so many poor souls out there getting this condition that have no clue why it's happening. They are following Internet posts to get any relief they can and some of these remedies are harming their body more. How can the CDC turn their backs on us when it is clear thousands are suffering? It was once thought that this disease couldn't be passed to others in the household but that is not true. My body attracts bugs and mites and they were brought in my home. From there these things are free to go, lay eggs, spread germs and eventually infect others. My 12 year old son is getting sores on his body now and my three year old daughter is itching like crazy. I can only clean so much but it hasn't stopped the problem. I cannot find a doctor to take a serious look at my symptoms and help cure this thing! We are being neglected by the CDC and this neglecting is literally driving people to mental thoughts of suicide. WE NEED HELP and real medical attention. I want my life back. Please!REPORT COMMENTS

OK collembola.. Various mites....morgellons and on and on. Folks are INFESTED. Some people think scabies is harmless...actually mites can carry secondary bacterial infections and the situation is utterly debilitating. Scabies as well as all ll types of skin mites in general has been officially a "negleted" diaease that needs more reaearch. I believe we are llkely headed for a full scale epidemic. Some strains have become treatment resistant and get all over environment constantly reinfectimg host. No amount of cleaning seems to help. Everybody has their two cents on what the. cure, butt given people don't have exacty the same thing its difficult to issue an accross the board remedy. I saw on line Serine Protease inhibitor somehow helping with skin mites. As a country these things need to be research funded and brought to market. Maybe a skin laser. In old days they used "unsafe" but effective pestocides. Im sorry but unsafe is a disease that drives ones to suicide....ill take MY chances with deet or 5 percent ROTENONE. Whats on the market is simply not strong enough. I think in Australia they have access to more than just a lame-O 1 percent rotenone. Also the researxh done on rats with rotenone...well they injected the rats directly so uh yeah duh there may be an adverse reaction. Frankly rotenone on the skin is not quite the big bad hazard. Wether you agree with me on the details or not i state that overall the publ c beeds access to something that is steong enough to stand up to a parasitic nightmare.REPORT COMMENTS

The condition, also known as "Morgellons Disease," needs immediate attention by Congress. The CDC (via Kaiser) has proven itself incapable of releasing an unbiased, scientifically-sound report. This is evident in the agency's refusal to acknowledge the very real nature of the condition, one characterized by unrelenting dermatitis, itching and (microscopically evident) infestations in human skin and hair. Animals are also susceptible to this disease. Their refusal to classify or recognize this condition in any medically significant manner has resulted in labeling those with the condition as suffering from, "delusional parasitosis." It would not be illogical to envision a future in which almost everyone, including members of Congress and their families, becomes a victim of this infectious disease. It is only a matter of time. I urge Congress to take the responsible course of action now.REPORT COMMENTS
