ONE MORE THING: Scabies is species specific. Humans cannot get scabies from animals & animals cannot get scabies from humans. Most docs & VETS do not know this. Here is what the CDC says: Did I get scabies from my pet? No. Animals do not spread human scabies. Pets can become infested with a different kind of scabies mite that does not survive or reproduce on humans but causes "mange" in animals. If an animal with "mange" has close contact with a person, the animal mite can get under the person?s skin and cause temporary itching and skin irritation. However, the animal mite cannot reproduce on a person and will die on its own in a couple of days. Although the person does not need to be treated, the animal should be treated because its mites can continue to burrow into the person?s skin and cause symptoms until the animal has been treated successfully. HERE IS THE LINK TO CDC SCABIES INFO: http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/scabies/gen_info/faqs.html#pet ENDREPORT COMMENTS

CONTINUATION: Part 3 Of 3: SCABIES ORDEAL Scabies infestation is very emotionally difficult to deal with. I wish I never had the second eye surgery. Not being able to see well out of one eye would be a whole lot easier than having to deal with this terrible scabies infestation. I also forgive my doctor because he is one of the best eye surgeons & basically he is a very nice guy & it wasn't his fault that the out patient clinic "potentially" unknowingly created right conditions for the scabies infestation. The out patient Charge Nurse should have returned my call. I understand that the Nurse & my Eye Doc did not want to open Pandora's box by giving me the benefit of the doubt & it's easier for them to treat one patient badly (me) than to have to deal with potentially other Scabies Mites infested patients & staff. I get it. I realize that my story is probably unimportant & not worth the time & effort it took for me to compose it, but telling my story has been therapeutic for me. You can't know how physically & emotionally devastating Scabies Mites Infestation is unless you or a loved one has had it. Scabies is also extremely expensive. Thank You.REPORT COMMENTS

CONTINUATION OF MY ISSUE: Was omitted in the First submission: SCABIES....Since Dec 2015, I have been battling & losing the battle with Scabies Mite Infestation, CONTINUATION: Of course, it\'s possible that I did get the scabies infestation from an unknown source but never having scabies infestation in my lifetime or knowing anyone who had scabies & with the out patient surgery timeline compatible with the infestation, the out patient clinic is a likely source. I often wonder if any other patients from that out patient clinic got infested with Scabies & are unaware of what they have or are having a difficult time with Scabies like me. I did call the out patient Unit & I told the Unit Clerk about my suspicion of getting scabies there in an attempt to see if anyone else reported acquiring a scabies infestation & to alert the OP clinic of a potential Scabies out break. The Unit Clerk said she would have Rhonda, the Charge Nurse return my call. Of course, Rhonda never returned my call. That was March 21, 2016. I saw my eye surgeon shortly thereafter & with my eye surgeon being warned that I suspected I became infested with Scabies during my eye surgery, he immediately tried to intimidate me by saying that because my PC doctor & a second visit with an unrelated PA did NOT properly diagnose me with scabies by doing a skin scraping evaluation, it is very possible that I could have a number of skin conditions to include Skin Cancer. Normally hearing a potential Cancer Dx from a trusted doctor would have scared the begezeus out of me but by that time I was very educated regarding scabies & felt the Scabies Mite Track Pattern & typical rash was extremely obvious. He failed to intimidate me. The eye doctor recommeded a dermatologist and another $130.00 later, the eye doctor's recommended dermatologist's PA said it was pointless to perform an unnecessary skin scrapping creating a higher bill because the rash pattern is typical & obvious Scabies mite track / rash pattern. So, that doctor visit was a waste of time & money. I've probably spent upwards of $2000.00 on 4 doctor visits to include eye doctor, P cream, other prescriptions, new bedding, supplies, home remedies, etc. Plus, I have to limit my physical contact with my three year old grandson & other family members which creates terrible emotional stress. Can you imagine the horror of me infesting my grandson & he in turn infesting his day care classmates & day care staff & families, etc.!!! The second PA that I saw in mid March, a few days before I saw the eye doctor, prescribed the ivermectin pill plus other helpful meds for irritated skin, etc. I thought the Ivermectin Pill killed the Scabies Mites as I stopped feeling the itching & the rash / mites track bites stopped but just within the past few days, the Scabies Mites have returned with a vengence. So, I'm back to square one. I plan on seeing / paying for a different dermatologist & go from there. Scabies infestation is very eREPORT COMMENTS

Since Dec 2015, I've been battling & losing the battle with what I've been told by three health care professionals is "scabies." The first symptoms appeared approximately three or four weeks after I had my second eye cataract surgery. I was one of the first group of patients that my surgeon performed surgery on at (for my surgeon) a new out patient clinic. A month prior my surgeon performed out patient cataract surgery on my first eye in his small well kept extremely low patient volume clinic. The clinic was sold & closed for renovations. The "new" clinic was very chaotic when I was there as a patient & the OP clinic seemed to be over booked with patients. While I was in Recovery, I heard the nurses tell the staff many times to get the patients out of Recovery ASAP because they were "out of beds." The wife of a patient next to me questioned the staff as to why they were discharging her husband out of Recovery so quick. The response was that he was ready to go. He didn't look ready to go. I didn't have as much anesthesia as I had during my first eye surgery & was very aware as to what was going on in my surroundings. I was quickly discharged from Recovery too -- not at all like the take your time Recovery Experience I had during my first eye surgery. It was OK for my quick discharge from Recovery because I was ready to go because of the lesser / smaller amount of anesthesia as compared to the first surgery & probably because the OP clinic needed to get patients out the door quickly. Approximately 3 to 4 weeks after the 2nd eye surgery & approximately 7 to 8 weeks after the first eye surgery, I got what I thought was "chigger" bites on both my lower legs above my ankle in a sock pattern. I used Sarna Anti Itch Cream & that provided relief but the Rash spread to my thighs, back & upper arms. The typical scabies pattern was evident in several areas on my body but I was unaware I had scabies & at that time I knew very little about scabies. In mid to late February 2016 when seeing my Primary Care Physician for a routine check up unrelated to my eye surgery, I showed her the "rash." She immediately diagnosed the "rash" as obvious scabies. She prescribed the routinely prescribed Permithian Cream x 2 tubes with a refill for two more tubes. I used the P Cream as directed. When my husband went to the Pharmacy to buy some Sulfur Soap, the pharmacist told my husband that it was very likely that I got the scabies from the out patient clinic hospital bed during my second surgery. The Pharmacist said that Nursing Homes & Hospital Beds are susceptible for Scabies infestations . I did not travel or sleep in any other bed but my own before the infestation so that ruled hotels out. Of course, it's possible that I did get the scabies infestation from an unknown source but never having scabies infestation in my lifetime or knowing anyone who had scabies & with the out patient surgery timeline compatible with the infestation, the out patientREPORT COMMENTS

So, I wonder how many have to have this for the majority to realize that our delusional nightmare is everyone's "nightmarish" reality. Seems to have increased exponentially recently. However, anyone who has suffered with this for awhile can probably tell you that it's not just seasonal, but that it actually seems to have some sort of life cycle the causes a transformation of itself. When it's ready to cycle through I know b/c I'll have the original symptoms with 2 or more added just for fun. Fun in hell. When I feel like giving up I remember the amount of others suffering through this and that often makes me realize that I have to fight through. God Bless us all!REPORT COMMENTS

My entire two families on both sides have had this bird mite for a little over a year now. It has gotten into car apolstery, rugs and anything fabric. It is a very dangerous problem and highly contagious. We have lesions, itching and crawling all over our bodies. We even caught a frikin sample and they haven't identified it for months! They just said it's some kind of mite. We read a lot of these parasitic mites need blood, human included. Unless you get rid of possessions and live as if you're homeless, we have found no cure ( five pest control companies, countless poisons and bombings and permitherins and Bifenthrins) and we STILL have it. We even cover beds in plastic! We have no blankets. It is horrible. Please... this isn't morgellons... it's a mite! It could easily be passed just by physical touch for prolonged periods as well. Entire families are NOT making this up, folks! I found a Skin Mites Support group on Facebook but so far there is no one remedy that is truly a cure. So far nobody has one.REPORT COMMENTS

I've had bird mites for over 2 years now -- it all seemed to start back in March 2014 after keeping my daughter' dog that she had adopted from a kennel. I sold my home and got rid of everthing and some how they got here is some of the clothing I brought (I guess). Anyway I brought new furniture and other items and have had 2 mattress since moving to my apt. and they are in the mattress the furniture, all my belongings. I can't have my grandkids over because of the biting and stinging and crawling feelings. I have a Master' Degree in Social Work and am a therapist. I had to semi retire because I get no sleep -- they are very active at night and no one believes me even with the bites -- I've worked hard and have a few samples. I hired 4 pest companies all of which ended up saying they can't help and basically what is wrong with me -- We all need your help -- there are 1000's in the USA and over seas suffering -- the website I use shows this and we all have the same type of symptoms -- the doctors think we are crazy and we are not -- we are great people who had very good lives until this mutant speices infected our lives. I have brought everything for years now to try to get rid of it and I am broke. Please help us!REPORT COMMENTS

I've been dealing w/ this for almost 3 years. The stinging, biting, itchy, crawling sensations. The lesions come and go ,sleepless nights, brain fog, short term memory loss ,dizzy/lightheaded ,energy level is nil, very depressed, seizure activity is more agressive, i can go on an on..family thinks I'm crazy. I can see I'm spreading to people around me. I've spent hundreds of $$ to find anything for relief. The most current an what's given me the most relief by far is 2 tablespoons of diamatscous earth food grade(DE) (start with 1) hot as u can stand shower, switching off between baths with sun laundry soap w/bleach and about 25 alfalfa tabs. Rub fresh cut limes on any lesions as it will kill anything that's lurking in there., sulfur 8 sometimes helps with pulling the black specks out. (To the naked eye some are back specks like eggs others are strange like hairs some colored and can only be seen at 30x+ magnification) can also sprinkle DE to your bed and around the house but be sure NOT to breath in the dust an make sure its food grade your using. This is such a horrible thing to be afflicted by an to be dismissed by the medical community as crazy is CRAZY!! To the people at the CDC you and your families are not exempt(or are you) and I hope an pray that no one else has to endure the horrible pain physically and mentally that we are going thru and alone at that! It is spreading like wildfire all over the world so how can so many with like symptoms all be dillusional? Its affecting women, men, elderly and our children for Gods sake!! For others suffering also I hope my remedy works for someone. Taking DE internally also cleans out any bad bacteria you may have. Research it as its good for a lot more than this...although nothing has taken it away for me this has given a lot of relief.GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Absolutely unbelievable that I called the CDC and every other local and National Organization I could find and no one wI'll help me with any information at all. They seem to keep secrets like it's Area 51. They know exactly what the problem is and they do nothing. I try to think of reasons for such a thing to happen in America, but so far I come up pretty short. I do wonder if maybe it is all about money and where they want to spend it. My guess is so they can all have nice fat paychecks and pick and choose what issues they want to deal with based on the "PEOPLE" that make all our countries decisions. I mean the president surely does not make a decision without being paid to choose this way or that way. This is what America is all about. The people with the money make all the decisions and the rest of us live by their rules. We have no choice but to be sick from bad products shipped from other countries without proper inspections before we let them in our country. They make the decisions for us. You can not even buy an original pair of Fry boots advertised as Made in the USA for years and now it all comes from Mexico and made cheap. So this what we get useless CDC and cheap*****Healthcare when people in America really need help and are suffering from an illness they areally perfectly capable of handling. I hope the decision makers at CDC and elsewhere all get a taste of the "imaginary itch".REPORT COMMENTS
