Child support for men is very unfair. Even my daughter's mother's lawyer said they don't care if you have to live out of a car, as long as the child gets taken care of. I don't even have a car. Someone who I thought loved me and wanted to spend the rest our lives together, totally turned on me into someone I don't recognize and it all started when she got pregnant. She gets what she wants; I go into the poorhouse. I don't mind paying a fair amount which allows me to live a normal life. My already frugal, meager lifestyle will be annihilated. It's not fair that I have to pay for child care, too, on top of the 17 percent child support standard. It's totally lopsided. She chose to be a single mother. I was totally misled. What a mistake!

(Continued from last post) in the Russian child support system could get jail, credit problems, exclusion from work, loss of rights (to the extent they had any), and loss of government benefits. Sound strikingly familiar? Debtor's prison for CIVIL child support debt in violation of Fourth Amendment since there's no probable cause a crime was committed to arrest and jail someone in a CIVIL matter; prohibitions against imprisonment for debt; ruination of credit; suspension of driver's licenses, professional licenses, hunting and fishing licenses; seizure of Social Security Disability benefits and retirement benefits (I know firsthand since I am disabled and they left me below the regional poverty line after garnishing my Social Security Disability benefits without a trial); denial of visitation rights without any enforcement of court orders for same; jailed for extended periods of time causing loss of employment due to no fault of self because of inability to comply with excessively high support orders leaving people unable to fend for themselves. How did the Russian Communists react to the fact that not everyone in their society matched the model of a good communist citizen? With public humiliation and condemnation and even ostracizing from groups; calling groups of people "deadbeats" and putting up posters with names and pictures of people who interfered with communist efficiency. The child support enforcement tyranny does the same identical tactics in this country. Those who say we won the Cold War are sadly mistaken. Former Soviet Union Premier Nikita Kruschev was right. He stated that the United States would be defeated by communism from within its own borders. The Communist system existed for 80 years in Russia before its collapse. We fought communism all over the World--Korea, Vietnam. NATO was a result of Communist hegemony. Why then, are the biggest, most important U.S. social policy changes of the last 15-20 years based on the Soviet-Communist model? Why also, are the centralized computer systems purchased for the child support system powerful enough to keep track of intimate details of every person on the planet? Why are we opening up the IRS database for use by other agencies? Why have there been so many court decisions undermining the guarantees spelled out clearly in the Bill of Rights? Doesn't this all involve a completely foreign vision of the basic fundamental relationship between individuals and the state; something that is indeed, in the most concrete way possible, anti-American? We are headed in the wrong direction for this country. The time to stop it is now before it is too late. Government is passing more and more draconian child support enforcement laws every day. Government oppression is at its highest pinnacle since the British ruled this country over 225 years ago. Where does it stop? We are on the slippery slope. And, for what? Because

Communism is alive and well and it runs the United States of Amerika. I have been involved in the research of child support and welfare reform for years and have researched a number of very astute scientists, economists, psychologists, legal professionals, politicians and many others. Irwin Garfinkle's paper, "Sweden's Child Support System" (1982) is the current model for the state of Wisconsin which has been emulated by a large number of states in the U.S. However, economics experts studying this field of child support have found that is indeed not from Sweden, but in actuality from the former Soviet Union. Though we can learn from other systems, the transplantation of any foreign social program into the U.S. is fraught with danger. We have our own Constitution and a different relationship between government and private economy. It is nonsensical to transplant social programs outside the political and economic context in which they develop because this inevitably leads to treason and sedition and the overthrow of our government by internal forces. U.S. child support reforms are based on the Soviet model, Article 81 of the The Russian Family Code, adopted in 1995. Its use was and is promoted in the United States by Irwin Garfinkel as part of a suite of Communist policy which became known to us as "The Wisconsin Model" because it involves the income shares approach--how much each parent makes determines how much child support is paid; rather than the true cost of raising children. As the Communist Manifesto says: "Each according to ability; each according to his needs". Our child support system was conceived and implemented as part of the former Communist way of doing things. We can start by recognizing that the "percentage of income" formula comes directly from the Russian lawbooks. The Russians used 25% for one child, 30% for two, and 35% for 3 or more. Sound familiar? This must have made sense in a country where most everyone was poor, prices were controlled by the government, and the transfer of "wealth" was the most important fundamental ideal of the oppressive regime's entire economic system. The Income shares model developed by Robert Williams, of Policy Institute, Inc. fame, mimics the "percentage of income" formula to a significant extent. Russian fathers pay the amount prescribed by the formula. That's it. There are no deviations; there are no exceptions; there is no consideration of individual circumstances (i.e., involuntary loss of employment due to economic downturn, downsizing, outsizing, ageism, etc., disability, illness, underemployment and unemployment, and even death); and there is no excuse for non-payment. Most payments in the Russian system are taken directly by the government. They are all processed by the central bureaucracy. The bureaucracy doesn't care about "special circumstances". There was no "individual" in Soviet society--only compliance. Those who found, or even look for, a way to avoid compliance in the

My son has been thrown in jail because of getting behind in child support due to no work in area. It cost a fortune to hire a lawyer to get him out, but the lawyer was unable to help much (although he gladly took the $2000.00 dollars!) and now they want to throw my son back in jail, even though he has found a job that starts in a week. I am so ashamed of America, the land of the free???? we have debtors prisons again, worse than some of the countries we condemn as not living under democracy. The mother's of these children need to get off their behinds and be made to work also, or go to jail!!!! Why do they get rewarded for breaking up a marraige, hurting their children and sitting on their butt? Not all men are deadbeats, but when there is no work, can you get money from a tree??? Am sick of what this has done to my son. There are so many people unable to find work, anywork--! Do you think all McDonalds will hire a 50 year old carpenter, or Burger King, or Duncan Donuts?? Even if they got hired, they wouldn't earn enough money to keep up with the child support or any other expense the ex can think up to tack onto the father's child support. Am so disgusted with this country, is there no answer for these men but to disapear to another country? Will their precious children be will served without a father? Throwing people in jail is not the answer, just puts them further behind in child support. I know it is a big business for the lawyers, the judges, jails, and those employed by these places. signed, tears in my eyes

Women and Men should both help equally.....and even though someone has a good job doesnt mean they should pay double for support......I swaer all of this crap is crazy!

I can't stand this system, i make 1200 a month after taxes on a good month and charged $506 in child support, I can't even pay rent with what I have left, I have tried to have my payment modified and the state pretty much said they don't care, my ex has a brand new town home and my new family is being forced to move into an apartment and collect food stamps, how is this fair? When does the system see this as an unfair practice?

Now, My ex-wife doesn't sit on her butt at home. She works 14 days a month and makes over $5,000/mo more than me, collects 2/3 of my pay and seems to have no issues going shopping a lot and buying non-sense things for decorating the house and the clothes on her back. I am struggling with my bills and have been claiming 9 on my income, which will be causing me to pay in over $2,000 on my taxes, somehow, just to make my rent. I find this unfair to all fathers that we should have to almost be in poverty. I understand the child support is to go to the kids. But, NO ONE can prove, that is where the money is going. I can not afford to take my children places to have fun. I can not afford to bring them to see their grandparents or the rest of their family. The laws that are currently in place, DO NOT take both incomes into consideration, as they are "supposed to". Something has got to change and something has got to change NOW.

This has been a problem ever since hey made these laws. I live in Flint, Michigan. I live in one of the worst cities in the country. I have a court date on the 8th. I have to explain to them why I got behind in my payments due to the very beginning I was stuck with a $3000 medical bill. I had worked another job just so I can get a 2 bedroom apartment for my two boys. I got money taken out for this job to where I had to quit. This is a no win situation on both sides. Even if the parent gets locked up, there is still no resolution. The parent is locked up with charges building up and the courts still gets no money. I had two abandonment cases that I had to go through for two years. At the end, one of the mothers of my youngest never had her rights terminated after she never completed what the judge order for her to do. She went on with her life, not even paid a dime, the other mother lost the kids three times. When I got called for a court hearing at my job, I had to leave right away. I was down there for about an hour, listening to the summons about what happened. I didn't even know this was the second time she lost them. Here it is last year around mid November. I get a letter in the mail that the mother (my oldest son) and here two daughters were taken by DHS for the third time. This don't make any since. I kept getting letters. Then when I had to show up for court, I was so angry at the fact this was the third time. I chose not to participate for the fact not only the mother kept my son away from me but she would not comply with getting services to get the kids. Now I m in fear of loosing my driver's license when I was out from having a car for the last 12 years. I got tired of walking to find a job or get asked a question "Do you have your own transportation?" I m not going to lie to these people and put myself in a situation. I had to even turn down jobs because I didn't have a car. The jobs I qualify for Requires even now I have to have a car because I sub as an aid for Special Education and a volunteer at my youngest son's elementary school. I am in process of getting any evidence not of mine but of various cases similar to mine along with the rules the system makes and I am one who is going to challenge this. The CS system has no compassion for any of us "So-called DEADBEAT Dads". There are a number of case issue that these practices are unfair, they show a role of discrimination, and in some cases, they sho racism which has and is being practiced by stereo typing. These issues not only should be brought up in supreme court, but should be brought up to all national and global news and the media network to be addressed. We as father need to get together and fight.

The law needs to be changed so that the amount of child support changes if the non custodial parents job changes. For someone to have to pay $700 a month working at a gas station making $7.50 an hour is ridiculous! Cases can only be reviewed every 3 years so some people are stuck with the decision of should I pay my child support or put a roof over my head! This should NOT be the case! I also STRONGLY agree that any ***** that doesn't work to help support her children should NOT get any form of support from anyone!

I STRONGLY believe that all CS laws should be rewritten if not federally mandated!!! I hate the fact that each state can do as they wish with laws such as this. I dislike the face that current CS laws do not take the economy, appreciation/depreciation and other factors into account, the fact that the non custodial parent may have a new family. But what I hate the most is the ridiculousness that a court and look you in the face and tell some successful person that they must pay X hundreds of thousands of dollars in CS based on your blood, sweat and hard work building a successful company (or what ever)!! What kid in what part of the UNIVERSE requires X hundreds of thousands of dollars to "live"??? Before anyone says it, no I'm not a wealthy person, I do pay CS just over 1K a month to one child who's now 8yo based on my old income of 90K (haven't made that in 4.5 years) but due to law changes in my former state was told that it could have went up if i tried to change it!!!! I now have three additional children and a spouse at home who all count on me to support them and I struggle ever dam day to put food on the table and cloths on my kids backs because just over half of my paycheck goes to my greedy*****ex and our one child together. How is this fair to my current family? When I asked this in court (when they INCREASED MY CS) the opposing counsel stated to the judge "no one told me to got out and have another family".... That's what the BIT$H said to the Judge!!!!! WHAT THE **** IS THAT??!?!? I mean REALLY!!!!! WTF am I suppose to do Live all alone never date or have sex or anything for the next 18-21 years????! Something has to CHANGE ASAP! The CS system in this country is severely BROKEN and BS!!!!

Both parents have equal responsibility to support their kids. If one decides to quit their job and not contribute they should not be awarded with an increase in child support. What system is this that rewards losers.

I don't mind paying the support, but I do mind that there is no accountability for where the money goes. The CS should not be paying for all the household bills so she can sit at home and do nothing while the kids go without. She gets new clothes and the kids get clothes from the thrift store. It is sad to see the kids live a lifestyle that is so below what they deserve and no one in our goverment cares as long as she gets the check. A bit of common sense needs to be used. I have a cousin who doesn't get enought CS to cover the food the kids eat while I pay so much that mom doesn't need to work and claims the kids have all the essentials that they need. With what I pay, they should be getting more than the essentials.
