Extortion--I cannot believe we don't call this for what it is. I was with a friend, got drunk and I didn't even believe that we had slept together. She gets pregnant and continues to take me back to court for child support. Now, don't get my wrong, my kid=my responsiblity, but, meanwhile I cannot support my other son (who was born first if that matters) because of the stupid amount of support I pay. My husband of twelve years has two older kids from a previous relationship ages 29 and 30 The mother of these kids went to court to complain that he owed her back child support, this order was from 1985, we had two children in 1994 and 1995 at this time he filed to ask the court for a reduction, it was denied. His divorce decree stated that no child support was ordered. In 2002 my husband became disabled due to several serious health ailments and has not worked since. He was jailed for 12 months for not complying with a child support order after his children are now 29 and 30 His children has stated that they did not reside with their mother from the age of 14, the judge did not take any of this information into consideration. His ex-wife married another man before divorcing him and has lived 12 years knowing that this marriage was not valid. But she appeared in court stating that he should have sent her money that she was not entitled to. When he married her she claimed to be pregnant with his third child, the marriage took place on May 8, 1987, the child was born July 1987 and this child was not his. How is this being allowed? My ex-wife is a nurse practitioner and I am a nurse aide and I am paying almost 700 dollars a month. I make about 1/3 what she makes, live in a small dump of a house (it's all I can afford), drive a car on its last leg, and havent bought new clothes for myself in years. While she lives in a 2300 sq. ft. home on almost 4 acres, drives a five year old FJ she bought new, owns two big screen tv's and every game system for the boys, and always has new clothes!! I was told the child support was so the boys could maintain their normal standard of living at both residences, REALLY!!! My standard of living was already lower and now it is even worse. I have a hard time keeping enough food here for the whole two days I get to see them. Not only has the system began making an aready bad financial situation worse, they gave her full custody after five years of a 16, 15, and 12 yr. old, why? There were no bad circumstances and we live in the same town. I have always been there when the boys needed me!! The system is setup for moms and dads are just money bags with no emotional ties!! It's a Godless bogus system. I even paid a lawyer and it seemed I might as well have not even been there. I don't mind helping, but if one parent is making so much more, how is it the other has to pay so much. If they were still married most of the bills would be paid out of the higher income. Now that parent gets tax free money and doesn't have to hardly use their money. The parent paying doesn't see that money nor the benefits, because who knows what it is really used for, and they still have to pay taxes on that money given to the other parent. IT SUCKS!!!! Unfortunately Im sure NO ONE ON THE HILL CARES!!! I have paid taxes every year since my divorce. I think tax laws on dependents of divorced parents needs to be revised also. I am paying 90+% of the child support obligation for my children (3) to a tune of $980 garnished out of my check twice a month. I had to give up half of my retirement and got left with all of the debt from the marriage, had to move away from my kids just to survive and make my payments. While I talk to then as often as I can it is not the same. Now my kids do not have cable tv or internet because the ex feels it is not necessary? But chiold supoort is supposed to help maintain the kids standard of living is it not. On top of all of this I have to pay another $500 a month in alimony to a college graduate that has never tried to be the best that she can be. KARMA, where are you? She works a pre school teaching job for about $500 a month, give me a break. Constantly going back to court for this or that and barely getting by while I give this woman money money money just because she gave birth to kids. To the woman saying that all men like me have to do is write a check like that is nothing.....she is losingher own argument for if it were easy the women would be able to do it. THEY ARE CHILDREN NOT PAYCHECKS. Then people act like they are shocked when people committ suicide or flip out and kill the ex. The only thing worse than being killed is being a slave and the system has made slaves out of many men. There will be justice one day I pray...have no problem taking care of my children but if I have to support them on my own financially I would rather do it the way I want since I am the one that Earns the money. The most pathetic person on the planet is the personthat relies on another to live. I pity all these women for they willnever be happy, that is thier curse. Everytime she spends my money she is validating how sorry she is. Now we do not communicate at all, I only talk to my kids...In the end I am better off not being connected with a leech legally. As time passes, each day Karma creeps closer and closer and if she were on fire I would not spit on her to put it out. Every bridge has been burnt under the police power of the state. I am a woman, and I am for reform of our entire system for divorce, custody, AND child support. I live in New York State, and my state seems to cater to people who don't want to work, as well as the greedy. I am currently going through a divorce, and I believe that since we have joint custody, we both support our child on our own end. There is no need for the government to intervene and tell me how much support my child needs and who should pay for it. As for people who cannot make a decision, obviously the court has to step in for the child's sake. However, that's the key, the "child's sake," not the mother's sake or the father's sake. We really don't know where that line is drawn, and we do a horrible job of justifying it. It all comes back to greed, and this needs to be changed. Our younger generations are suffering enough at the hands of people who use them as a battle ground over money.REPORT COMMENTS

I am not on child support but I am with someone on child support through New Jersey. The whole child support system is a scam. I hate to see low life women who want to spend there life living off the government or scamming to make money. Women need to stop it is over a million men on child support in the US and 99.9 % of them are in the arrears with child support how is that possible because it is not, child support adds like 7 percent plus on to child support arrears every year which makes the arrears go up more and impossible to pay as if it is some type of loan or something which it is not. If anyone is the deadbeat it is these lazt women who feel they don't need to work to support there children that they had a part in making too. I struggle everyday with bills in the household because my sons father is on child support for another child he had with someone else before we had our child. Child support take half of his income and he doesn't make much, then this women had a nerve to put a NMSN in so that will be more money taken out of his money, she put in for passport denial, Credit Bureau Reporting, Bank Levies they tried to submit a whole 34,000 to the account which how could someone ever owe someone that much money when they don't even make that amount in a year of there work. It is plain out ridiculous how much power they give child support. I am happy to sign and a petition should be started to on the white house.gov website if ity gets 25000 the government will ake the matter into review. The government wonders why its in debt becuase of all these deadbeat mothers scam the system and living off the government making a creer out of collecting government benefits and child support making men go into arrear. It seem like the government feels like once a man has a child with a women he owes his whole life and everything to the women and the women is not suppose to make a effort to support the child they went half on. I am so fed up wioth the non-sense, it makes me so mad to see women to be able to do things like this, it should be a crime. They claim they calculate both incomes but in most cases they don't especially not in New Jersey, NJ allows the women to be common and just do whatever without any validation that what is being said is the truth. This girl my sons father has a child by was collecting state benfits while they were together and just doing all kinds of underhanded scam right under his nose it wasn't until they broke up and he got a letter stating he was 21000 in the arrears, how does the government let that happen, and even if you try to report the person for fraud they still don't do anything about it. Obama needs to fix this right away. Intercepting tax refunds, suspending licenses, putting Liens on peoples homes whether it is solely in the suppose person who owes name or not, not allowing the man or anyone who is on child support to have a productive life becuae they are no longer with that person, but the person collectinREPORT COMMENTS

Women in this country are abusing the system. They live off child support and don't even use it on their kids. If a single mom needs help from the father. Then the father should really only have to pay for childcare and school. It doesn't cost that much to feed a child. Esp since a family of 4 can live on $200 for food. Child support removes the right of the father to live. I have met several who are homeless(or close to) because they pay 65 percent or more in child support. That is an unreal amount! And it is unfair. My husband pays his whole check to child support and taxes. We have to work two jobs a piece yet his ex wife wants more than the 1200 she gets a month. Since she refuses to work as an LPN, we will have to shell out more and lose our less than 700sq foot house so that she can keep her brand new car (we drive an 89 toyota station wagon) and 2000sq foot house. It is not right. 1200 a month is more than enough to raise her one child. That is more that I make on my one job. It isn't right!REPORT COMMENTS

How is it fair that a woman is left to raise her children from a marriage fulll time, while a father sees them a couple times a month, and all he has to do is stroke a check. We live in Texas and my ex husband makes several million dollars a year, and lives in a multi million dollar home, yet he only pays 1800.00 a month, or 21,600 a year for his 2 sons?? That is ridiculous. He has watches that cost more than his yearly child support. People need to take into account that although you can't put a dollar amount on raising kids, that is a mother's signicant contribution toward raising our children. I assure you worth well more than 21,600 a year. For all you women complaining about your current husbands having to pay for children from their previous marriage, wake up! I pray that someday you're not the ex wife getting by every month while your ex husband lives like a king, gets another wife who benefits from your contributions to his business and marriage, and has more babies. Laws in Illinois I am sure were established to protect women from idiot men not willing to live up to their obligations... I get it. But times have changed, and now, women abuse this law to punish the fathers of their children. Laws need to defend and protect both parties, not one or the other, as these types of negative actions always comes back to impact the child. The purpose of the law should not be to financially cripple either parent, but rather to provide the most fair way to jointly care for a child.
