Yes I agree it's not fair. I am a female in New Mexico My license was taken and my car was towed away for non compliance of child support to my mom after, slow at work. now I can't drive to get to work, and my job consist of driving. The bus system doesn't have a route to my job 20 min away. friends are iffy. I need my licenses back I'm going to lose my lil apartment, now I have fines and towing fees. My kiddos are fine, they are never without -

Unfair!!! Women just go on and spend while the fathers kill themselves working and cant afford their own living. California first come first serve for 1st child is unfair and makes no sense to leave the other kids behind!! Women are taking advantage of this, and i am a woman saying this! the mother can remarry and make more money and yet the father has to support her utilities and ridiculous amounts of money. Children do not need over 1k a month!!!!! it's free money for these women or men who are taking advantage. also, suspending their license?? uhhh.. how will they get to work and afford to live and pay child support like that?? how does this make sense to anyone? and why is there interest!!?!?!?REPORT COMMENTS

The system is broken. There are so many unjust motions and noone in the justice system even tries to hear it. I am a divorced dad who would have liked to stay married, I never wanted a divorce. It was forced upon me. I love my daughter and i pay my child support ($1500/month for one child), and i dont complain. But where is the justice here?? Where is common sense? Because of such a high child support i cant even afford to take out a mortgage. I have to rent. Meanwhile, the mother of the child has no expences, has a higher income, does not care for the child as much, and enjoys her freedom. I do not have a problem paying for my son, I do not believe child support should be 17% of your gross yearly income Child support should be agreeable with both parents on a set amount, us as fathers and parents we should also get statements regarding the child support, also I believe child support should include babysitting and others Standards , some parts of the law needs to be changed for fairness. My sons mother left me over 13 years ago to another state with our baby boy to go live with an old boyfriend. I could have called the police but I didn't cause I was 19 at the time and immature. I had no money for a lawyer. Our son was born in PA ware I still live and he was under a year old when she left. I agreed to pay support from PA to her in FL about 13 years ago to help with my beautiful son, and so he could have insurance through the government (must be a support order to receive government insurance for child). Before 9 years ago they visited me 4 times and the mother would promise me love and to get back together and at the very least help with paying for my son to get to PA for me to have him half the time ( my stupidity at that point for believing). When it came time to leave I would not here a word from her and she would change her number. I had no money to fly my son out here to PA to stay with me for half the time and domestic relations would not help with that matter and would say that there their only for the support order for the best interest for the child.The support order is 360 a month witch would pay for a plane ticket after a few months. Now I have not seen or heard from my son or the mother in 9 years and to this day there was never a custody agreement from either party (I was so nieve and trusting). I'm now 33 and I have not any clue if my son is even alive or ware he is, what he looks like, how he does in school etc. Now and then I get a letter from different states saying I owe such and such dollars from ware ever shes living through a support office near her. I cant find my son!! Iv'e begged domestic relations to help me locate my son and or his mother. I pray every night he's ok ware ever he is with his alcoholic mother goin from guy to guy from state to state. I'v lived my whole life making 8 to 11 dollars an hour, (considered poverty level I think). Child support out here in pa takes 360 a month to go to the mother ware ever she is. Child support refuses to tell me ware she is but enforces the support oder here on me. I do owe a rediculous amount of money to support you wouldn't believe. Child support catches up with me frequently and nothing gets solved, unless me getting locked up is called a solution, ware I cant work and costs us tax payers more money. I guess to someone thats a solution. I might as well pay child support to a poor child, who isn't even mine as long as I get to be part of his or her life. I'm a giving caring man, but not when it's unjust.REPORT COMMENTS

I was court orderd by the state of NV after 5 years they started sending me money back. Well I called and they told me she closed the case and she didn't want anything to do with me. My order was for 150.00 dollars a month and I could have paid it becouse I worked all those years 12 years later she opens a case in oregon saying I never paid a dime well they added all those years and added interest and sent me a 30,000 dollar bill. I can't even pay the interest now. I lived in my van for 7 years not being able to pay rent can't have a bank account can't have a normal life and she never let me see my boy and even changed his last name. I pay child support for 2 children. Ironically, one of them now lives with me full time after I was awarded full custody, yet the state of Texas continues to take over $500.00 a month from my hard earned paychecks to pay back support. Now...I dont mind paying the back support I owe, but you would think that since my kid lives with me now they would at least lower the amount I am required to pay. Oh, by the way....I make 10.00 per hour...The state agreed to grant me full custody but at the same time they are killing me and my daughter financially.
