Ever since divorce (where the x had the affair) - my daughter's paternal family set out to destroy the strong maternal bond between my once loving daughter and me. They succeeded, and now my daughter has not spent a night in her maternal home for 7 yrs., nor have I seen or as much talked to her in that time, except on a very few rare occasions. No holidays (Christmases, Easters, Mothers Days, birthday (her or mine) - or any old day to just sit down to eat a meal or to converse.) My daughter is now 24 and doing horribly in her academic endeavors, deep in debt, has a bf that treats females like dirt, etc. I know that if she had grown up with my influence over the past 7-10 years, she would be a productive, loving, financially fit individual, and possibly feeling fulfilled with a great career and a great guy in her life. Please help our children by stopping this form of child abuse - for she believes it was all her doing, and doesn't recognize the terrible injustice that has been done to her nor to her maternal family.REPORT COMMENTS

People whose hate for their former partner is stronger than their love and concern for their children need to deal with their own issues and leave their children out of their anger and hatred. I'm living the nightmare. Parental Alienation needs to be a crime punishable by law. Women should not be allowed to decide whether a child can visit based on whether they just dislike the child's father. There needs to be more shared parenting laws for both single and divorced dads. These women need to be held accountable. A father should not have to pay an attorney just to have a relationship with his children.REPORT COMMENTS

Parental Alienation is real. Mothers can keep their children from their fathers unless a father can afford an attorney to fight it. It is the very same type woman who will only call the father when she wants more money. It creates the idea of "victimhood" on the mother's part and creating the idea that having a father is "not needed" other than financially. It's effects on children are endless. There needs to be mandatory shared custody for all fathers when child support is established with parental rights and these same mothers need not be awarded for deciding that they don't need to work. Especially in the case of parents who never married or weren't married very long. Judges should also make the alienators go through counseling to see if they are mentally fit to see if it's in the best child of the children to even remain in a household that a parent is poisoning a child against the other parent.REPORT COMMENTS
