Because I worked I am being penalized by not receiving social security payments when my husband dies. If I had stayed home and not worked I would be receiving money I am being penalized for working.......REPORT COMMENTS

I had to retire early from teaching to be come the caregiver for my husband with Alzheimer's. I will not receive any of his Social Security when he dies because of the Social Security Offset. I have post polio syndrome and will not be able to hold a full time job at his passing to increase my monthly income after he is gone. I urge you to support the Social Security Fairness Act.REPORT COMMENTS

As a displaced housewife entering the workforce after age 40 my options were limited. I began working in schools and am now ready for full retirement. Unfortunately the spousal Social Security benefit I planned on will be deeply discounted. I paid SS at the first two schools I worked for but I am retiring from one that doesn't participate. Please do your part to right this abusive wrong.REPORT COMMENTS

As a late-starting teacher in Kentucky, the Social Security benefits I earned before my teaching career began will be significantly reduced. This is unfair and I urge you to support the Social Security Fairness Act. Even with upcoming fiscal challenges, fair is fair.REPORT COMMENTS

I am 70 yrs old and working since March 2003, 40 hrs week. I retired under the Civil Service Retirement System in 1995. I have more than earned my Social Security Quarters and my deceased husband had more than earned his when he died at the age of 45. However, I only draw $351.00 a month after the government takes back over $1200.00 under the "Windfall Elimination Provision." The Government gives me $351.00 a month AND takes an additional $421.93 out of my present paycheck for Social Security benefits I will never see. American Citizens who fall under this "Windfall Elimination Provision" ARE discriminated against. Both my husband and I earned the full quarters and more. Please help us by pushing to right this wrong by passing HR235 and S.484.REPORT COMMENTS

I don't see why we can't collect SS and PERS. I work for the school district. I paid into SS for over 20 years and am now working and paying into PERS, I think this bill should be passed to make all fair. Why should we be penalized, we have no choice but to keep working and now we can't even get what is due to us.REPORT COMMENTS
