It's time we give the Chinooks the recognition they deserve.

Despite a history of devastating disease, forced relocation, attempted assimilation, legal termination, and the granting and subsequent retraction of federal recognition, the Chinook Indian Nation exists today as a passionate, modern tribal entity. It is time for the federal government to end this embarrassing story of colonial injustice by restoring the Chinook Indian Nation and properly acknowledging a tribe that has been, continues to be and always will be present in the Pacific Northwest.
