I have had two restraining orders taken out against me. The first one was dismissed but before I even saw a court, I was humiliated by being forcefully removed from my own home. I beat it because the accuser was using it as a tool of revenge and eviction. I am currently not able to see my wife due to a TPO. I made the mistake of telling her I wanted a divorce because she was hitting me. She took action to punish me by getting the restraining order. She is committing jury and should be held accountable. My reputation is permanently ruined. Please enact laws to hold abusers of protective order accountable. -

I am also a victim of being falsely accused of DV with bodily injury. My wife hit her head on a door frame herself and called the cops and said I hit her. I had her phone in my hands and would not give it to her. She than hit her head and said if I don't give it to her she will put me in jail and tell the cops I hit her. I laughed at what she said. And of just watching my wife jumping at the door frame hitting her head. Not funny now. But anyways I called the cops and told them what she had said to me. They ended up taking me to jail and siding with her. I couldn't believe it. I thought they would get down to the bottom of it. NOPE. They just put me in cuffs and sent me to jail. I'm now paying a lawyer $3500 to represent me. I don't know what to do. She is undocumented and I don't want to get her in trouble. She is the mother of my children. They put a TRO on me and after that expired she still doesn't want me back at the house. Its probably in my best interest. But now I'm unemployed. I have no vehicle cause she has it. My boyfriend has been going through a nasty divorce and separation from his wife after she had an affair. He is currently fighting 2, yes TWO felony domestic violence charges for an incident she claims happened when he was sitting at dinner with my family and I. We have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to prove his innocence and now to keep his kid off the stand and to not have to prove his son a liar in court he is being asked to take a plea bargin which is almost as he is admitting to doing something he did not do just to save his child.REPORT COMMENTS

My fiancƩ had a restraining order taken out on him by his sister. She did this in retaliation because I had to file assault charges against her boyfriend (he put his hands on ). I had no protection because we are not related but his sister only had to claim fear and an order was issued. I'm all for protecting people who need protecting but this was blatant revenge. I'm innocent of these charges yet I'm treated like I'm guilty.....All I did was in self defense! I've already lost one job and my coming marriage is now ruined. I didn't even know that I was wanted for this 8 month old charge and my arrest took place at our local police headquarters in new Orleans that I visited trying to alert the police to a possible false identity charge. The police ran my name and I was told that I had a warrant for my arrest and therefore placed in handcuffs!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

This is happening far too often. As a true victim of domestic violence (my ex drug me down a road with his car, beat me, and sexually assaulted me) I am sickened by women who use false allegations of abuse to get a leg up in a custody case or for revenge. There is no burden of proof and men are being removed from their homes and having their children taken away from them without even getting a chance to defend themselves. This is not justice. left my ex because she was a violent, abuse alcoholic and i did not want my son to get to the age were he knew what was happening. i have been in martial arts all my life and have taught women self defense classes for over 18 years. i worked in a jail for over 16 and i am CIT certified. my ex wife has 3 different types of protection orders against me! 3 different courts but all in the same county. i've never hit or even threatened to hit my ex. I HAVE NOT BEEN ALLOWED BY HER TO SEE MY SON IN 6 MONTHS! I HAVE NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO HIM IN 4!REPORT COMMENTS
