Certain parts of the WEP are flawed to the point of outright robbery. Paid into pension in Canada for 20 plus years then moved to the U.S. legally and paid into S.S. for over 25 years.Now S.S. wants to reduce my benefits because I get a pension check from my Cdn contributions. There is absolutely no justification for WEP/GPO. I paid into Social Security long before WEP/GPO was passed and I was counting on my full social security benefit at retirement age. I spent my later years in education and now (because I chose to teach) I am getting penalized with a reduced benefit from Social Security. I don't know why it was ever passed in the first place, but it is so unfair to the people who worked hard and earned that benefit. Please repeal NOW!!!REPORT COMMENTS

In my youth I believed in putting monies into SS system for my retirement. Now I feel cheated and lied to by my own government. I worked for them the first fifteen years of my youth as a slave to a system that was suppose to benefit me.
