I worked and paid into that security my whole life to build Social Security--then to get 1/2 of what I should be entitled to each month. Explain how that is fair!

I, a widow, am penalized out of survivor benefits. I also paid into the system before I began teaching.

Both my spouse & I are affected. We both came to teaching later in life. It is not fair for GOVT to keep my money!

This is my third career after working in retail and private non-profit early childhood, I'm now a para-educator in public schools. This would impact ALL my funds from many, many years. Repeal WEP/GPO. Repeal it now.

My husband died at age 59 before ever getting any social security retirement. Now my teachers pension offsets any of his spousal benefits that would come to me. Evelyn M. of Santa Maria, CA

WEP/GPO hurts those most who have a modest public pension.
