The electoral college was originally put in place because it was hard for people in remote areas to get information about candidates, and even in cities and towns media coverage could be few and far between, and inaccurate, so the electoral college would vote for the people they thought the uninformed would want. The electoral college was important in the past but is now totally outdated. -

We now have access to all forms of media that allows us to screen all the candidates, so the reason for using the Electorate College no longer stands. Therefore, this long, outdated practice is no longer necessary to allow it to elect the President against the majority vote of the people of this nation. By today's standards, the Electorate College is a political, national scam against the citizens of this nation.REPORT COMMENTS

It is no longer necessary to keep allowing the Electorate College to choose the President over the majority vote of its citizens. By today's standards, the Electorate College basically is an obstacle, turning our sacred "right to vote" into a national/political scam against the citizens of this nation.REPORT COMMENTS

The first time i voted the runner up received over 500,000 more votes than the winner of the presidential election. I don't see how there wasn't public outrage over this or more media coverage. I think the electoral college makes no sense and maybe never did.REPORT COMMENTS

the electoral college prevents each vote to be counted; elections should be won or lost based on the majority vote and each vote should count; eliminating the electoral college will give people more confidence in their vote counting and maybe more people will vote! Please do this now so it will be in effect for 2016 not 2050!REPORT COMMENTS

The electoral college is a waste of everyones time. Why would I support people who get paid off to vote? POPULAR VOTE is the only logical way to vote!REPORT COMMENTS

The electoral college was borne out of a time when getting a vote to Washington by horse and buggy and a delegate needed to travel over a 1000 miles or more to get there! With the electronic age, the vote can be sent, tallied, verified and checked within an hour! So spending millions to have someone take my vote to Washington and change it to his preference is over and not justifiable in this day of electronic communication. Fix that and the proper person will get into office eliminating what happened with the hanging chad era of voting and many more messed up elections! "One Person one Vote", this is the way it should be!REPORT COMMENTS
