The electoral college was created to represent the people not work against the people. If they don't respect the popular why should we respect the electoral vote. The electoral college makes no sense and serves no real purpose other than to serve its own interests. The electoral system is supposedly based on population of each state. It made sense 50 years ago when we couldn't accurately and quickly count every single persons vote, however with the advances in technology every vote is counted much easier.
